Good day. Today's video Pure and Simple is on the topic of: It is the pure word of God which keeps life simple, keeps worship simple (those who worship God must worship him in Spirit and in truth), and keeps the simplicity of the gospel of Christ. Jesus Christ said that the words that he speaks unto us, they are spirit, and they are life. Pure words from the pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. The washing of water by the pure word of God is what will sanctify and cleanse the inward man. Jesus Christ put it simply in prayer unto God our Father on our behalf, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth". Pure and simple is the Word of God, where wisdom and power reside. Church, if you start out clean in the sight of the Lord you have to end up clean if you plan on making it home; pure and simply that's how it works in the realm of the Spirit. Our prayer is that your faith should not stand in the wisdom (works and words) of men, but in the power (the Word, Christ) of God. God bless and keep the faith. I am in the little things. I speak simply to the heart. I am the still small voice. Seek me, find me, and know me in the simplicity of the little things, those things that many ignore or let float by on the river of life. I am faith, your firm trust; I start as a little thing, as a grain of mustard seed; and as I grow I can move mountains. I am working through the little things, right now, today; and I give you hope… I am hope, your expectation; the anchor of your soul; I am in the little things that you don’t see now, but I am on my way and I will not let you be ashamed. And I give you love… I am love, your conviction of things not seen; I am shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Spirit that is given unto you; I conquer all; I believe all things, I hope all things… Yet, I am not little, but I am that I am, Christ in you the hope of glory; hear me. 1 Timothy 6:6-8 But godliness with contentment is great gain. (7) For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. (8) And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. (KJV)
Remember what you brought with you when you arrived into this world? If you are not sure you can try to ask someone that was there when you were born, or you could spend some time around the maternity ward to see what is brought into this realm by newborns. According to the word of God there will be no carry-on luggage, which includes your departure from this world also. So with this in mind, what is it you were fussing and fretting about today; was it really something that involved your spiritual life, or are you still consumed and being eaten alive with the cares of this life? Sound silly, to simple, well believe it or not that is the part most people miss and stumble over, the simplicity of the gospel. According to God’s itinerary, the same things you arrived into this world with are also what you will depart with in the end. The question is will you be bringing something spiritual with you on your way out? In other words we came into this world with nothing, but we have the opportunity to leave with everything, the catch is that it has nothing to do with this world. I use the phrase catch, because I still see so many who claim they are one of the Lord’s who say they are totally committed to Him only to see them still caught up and snared with the things of this world, which are drowning them in destruction and despair. Have you learned to truly be content, or will you be content some day when you get everything you think you need or desire? After all you may not think having food and raiment is such a big deal, and are more interested in other things. So let me point this fact out, just try going a day, a few days, or even a week without food and raiment, and then let’s see if it is not such a big deal. Suddenly everything you have taken for granted and overlooked is now more appreciated, with a few thank-you’s added in for good measure. 1 Timothy 6:9-10 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. (10) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (KJV) Talk about going off the deep end, how would you feel if you had just pulled a drowning person out of the water only to see them jump back in again? God’s plan of salvation is to deliver His people from this present evil world, which we see in the verses above is described as being the love of money, only to see them turn around and jump right back into the cesspool of this fallen world again. Now stop and think how you would feel if that person you saw jumping back into water and drowning again was one of your own children? How quickly mankind jumps ship; the only problem is the ship they jump into has some major holes in its doctrines and is ready to go under. Will you stay afloat and rise above the cares and concerns of this world, or will you end up going deep sea diving for fool’s gold and miss your lifeboat when it comes by? Matthew 6:23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! (KJV) God’s plan of salvation is a way of escape, an escape from this present evil world into a realm of the righteousness of God. How is one ever going to find this path of life, let alone ever stay on it, unless they make it a priority in their walk? A spiritual path requires a spiritual light, and without the true light shining in their heart it will be replaced with a false one. Matthew 6:19-24 The lamp of the body, that which receives and dispenses the light, is the eye. If the eye, used here figuratively for one's spiritual understanding, be single (opposite of "twofold"), not afflicted with double vision in this matter of treasures —an affliction which is evil —then the individual can regard riches in their proper perspective. The impossibility of serving two masters in a slave relationship is a graphic illustration. Mammon. Though its derivation is uncertain, it appears to be an Aramaic word for wealth, here personified. Note that Jesus condemns not wealth but enslavement to wealth. (from Wycliffe Commentary) Many are called, but few are truly chosen by our Lord because many a well-intentioned Christians have replaced their love for the Lord with another love. So like with a cheating spouse in a marriage relationship, or drinking and driving, eventually there is going to be a heck of a wreck. Some of these piercings and sorrows you are experiencing have been a result of your shield of faith, or lack of it, which is allowing the enemy to have a clear shot at the heart with his fiery darts, starting a fire in a place that has dried out because of a lack of living waters. Matthew 6:31-34 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (32) (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. (33) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (34) Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (KJV) The point of this week’s studies is a reminder of the simplicity of the gospel and how important it is to learn to be content. Yes we are in this world, and there are needs that have to be dealt with, both spiritual and physical, the point is getting and keeping your priority right so the things of this life don’t become too big of a distraction. God promises His people He will supply all their need, and as a parent you would never forget your children, so what makes you think God does His? The Bible is specific in how we are to access God and get the provisions needed, which first and foremost it needs to be spiritual, thus why many miss the mark, getting it backwards, or the cart before the horse. Your message for today is to keep in mind that your arrival and departure are similar in the fact that you came here with nothing and will depart with the same luggage as well. So with this in mind why are you so concerned with things you can’t take with you, instead of with something that you can, that being eternal salvation? John 19:23-24 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. (24) They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did. (KJV) This man that is described for us in the above verses is now seated at the right hand of God; and as we see He didn’t leave much behind when He left, at least not in the physical realm. Jesus Christ didn’t entangle Himself with the affairs of this life, which allowed Him to partake of the new life, the one that lasts for eternity. Now it’s your turn, what do you truly treasure, and where is it leading you today? God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 16:17-18 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (18) For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; (KJV)
So how does one know the difference between the doctrine of Christ and that of man? One simple way of knowing is revealed in their messages that are being taught and what realm they are pointing the people to. If the messages are more to the flesh and the things of that realm then it is not of God, but rather self serving ones that appeal more to the flesh than the Spirit. If the messages are constantly telling the people how much one is doing for the Lord, or basically how literally the Lord couldn’t operate without them, that would be a sign of a doctrine that should not be welcomed into one’s house but rather discarded. Not only should one be avoiding these messages, but one should definitely not be bidding them God speed or God bless; giving credence to their doctrine as if it came from God. Strong’s definition for God speed: 5463 chairo (khah'-ee-ro); a primary verb; to be "cheerful", i.e. calmly happy or well-off; impersonally, especially as salutation (on meeting or parting), be well: KJV-- farewell, be glad, God speed, greeting, hall, joy (-fully), rejoice. 2 Timothy 4:2-4 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. (3) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (4) And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (KJV) Be prepared for opposition; because when you bring this doctrine of Christ to a fallen world many are not interested in dying to self, but rather they are looking to lift up themselves rather than the name of Christ. So for every taste, for every lust of the flesh, there are those that are willing to compromise and bring a doctrine that will suit their flesh, thus cutting the life off to the Spirit. For many claim this idea of crucifixion and dying was fine for the Lord and His apostles, but it is not something we need to concern ourselves with anymore; and it does not go over to well with the congregation either. So in order to keep the congregation happy, which by the way means a happy congregation is a happy giver, one needs to keep this stuff about dying spiritually out of the teaching and keep it in the realm of the new age stuff of a life of prosperity in the flesh. Isaiah 30:9-11 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: (10) Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: (11) Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us. (KJV) Don’t think for a moment that this stuff hasn’t been going on for a long time; rather than teach and hold to sound doctrine the devil and his workers have been infiltrating God’s field with false workers, teaching things they shouldn’t be teaching; many times for filthy lucre’s sake; the love of money drowning out the love of God which was what the real intention should have been in the first place. So are you learning and hearing more about the things of God and the doctrine of Christ in the places you worship at, or is it more of a Mr. Rogers teaching nice things, a smooth way of life? Are you hearing more about the Christ in you the only hope of glory, or are you being pointed and directed elsewhere for the answer, mostly to man’s work and not the working the Lord has begun within you? 1 John 4:1-4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: (3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (4) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (KJV) When you look at your fellow mankind that is around you, are looking at the outward appearance, or are you looking to the Spirit to see what doctrine they are bringing forth? Are they truly teaching and preaching Jesus Christ and the good work He has begun and continues to do within you, or are they pointing you elsewhere, mostly keeping the focus and attention on themselves and away from the Lord? Do you know the difference for yourself so that you will not be taken in by these false doctrines; but rather are able to rightly divide the word of truth for yourself by the leading and guidance of the Spirit of Christ which is within you, and should be your only source for truth? The only way you will be able to overcome and be more than a conqueror is by this greater teaching and doctrine which is within each and every believer; not by looking to those of the world that are being deceived, and deceiving by their carnal understanding and not a spiritual one. So what has the greater influence on you today; the doctrine of Christ or the many man-made ones that claim much, but deliver of so little on His behalf? Philippians 2:12-15 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (13) For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. (14) Do all things without murmurings and disputings: (15) That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; (KJV) It is up to you to seek the Lord for yourself, and to come to a working knowledge of Him, by looking inwardly and not relying so much on the outward anymore. It is God; by His working and the doctrine of Christ that is working and is willing to work within you so that you can be blameless and harmless, teaching and being an example of the believers in truth, allowing the light of the glorious gospel of Christ to shine in you and enlighten those around you as well. Are you allowing God to have His way in you so that He can continue to do those things that are pleasing in His sight through you, or have you shut off the only source of life by trying to follow some man-made doctrine that is more self serving than God serving? Philippians 1:3-6 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, (4) Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, (5) For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; (6) Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: (KJV) My prayer for each and every believer today is that they will continue in the simple doctrine of Christ, and continue in the confidence of what He has done for them and not what many others claim they are doing on His behalf. Keep it simple saints; your answer in your search for truth is within you, in the doctrine of Christ, which will bring life to your spirit man and keep you built up in Him, and not falling for man’s cheap imitations and self-serving doctrines. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Mark 10:26-27 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? (27) And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. (KJV)
The disciples were astonished with this new doctrine our Lord was bringing forth to a fallen world. The things of God and His plan of salvation were being manifested through Jesus Christ; so what was previously hidden and unknown was now available to whosoever would call upon the name of the Lord. Things that were impossible and unachievable by man and his way of thinking are now a reality, and should become a way of life to the believer. What is your vision of salvation today? Is it a clear cut path that you are walking, or are you astonished and bewildered thinking it is impossible for someone like me, and thinking that God only uses special people with special gifts or what some think are super powers? The reality is, it’s the simplicity of the gospel of Christ that many miss and overlook. Because we consider ourselves simple at times we think we get overlooked by God as well, because surely He can find more qualified people than me to use. Remember, and don’t ever forget the message, with God all things are possible and nothing will seem impossible to those that believe. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (KJV) Are you a can do person? Do you have a can do attitude and an expectation of victory in your walk, or are you still coming up short of the goal, accepting whatever comes your way rather than letting the Lord have His way, and complete the mission? Do you see things that are impossible to others, and were to you before you were saved, now a reality and a way of life; an expectation that the things of God and His promises are now what you rely on; and you will not accept anything less than His outcome despite what your outward senses try to dictate to you? Will you hold fast your profession of faith without wavering so that you can continue to be a can do person, because of a can do Christ within you? Luke 1:34-38 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? (35) And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (36) And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. (37) For with God nothing shall be impossible. (38) And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. (KJV) It is interesting when reading this account of how the angel of God came to Mary to let her know the Lord’s plan for her and how she would be used by Him. When Mary was informed of this plan, to her own carnal thinking and mind it was impossible. However, as we see in verse 38 her answer was, let it be according to the word of God, which was delivered to her through the angel. So how would this account relate to you personally? Were we not barren ourselves at one time spiritually and unable to bring forth life? Once we accepted the Lord and His plan of salvation we too conceived, and a new life was formed within us. ‘Christ in you the hope of glory’ is now residing within the believer as well, so that you too can operate in the power of the Highest, which is ready to spring forth from you to bring new life to a dying world. Even though Mary questioned and wondered how these things could take place, because according to the outward it was impossible, she accepted the word of the Lord and allowed Him to do what was seemingly impossible to man but just another day at the office for the Lord. So how are you responding to the Lord today? Are spending your time trying to analyze things by what the outward is trying to dictate, or are you accepting God to be true no matter what the circumstances are so that you can bring forth new life within you, and receive the results God intended for your situation also? Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (KJV) The only time it becomes mission impossible is when we step out of the realm of faith and start walking by sight, the outward and not the inward vision. Once a person steps out of the realm of faith they start questioning God and begin to waver. Many times in the Old Testament it makes reference to the double hearted which will result in one being double minded and unable to receive the things of God. Once you step back into the realm of doubt and fear the mission is aborted and unable to move forward until you re-enter the realm of faith and get back on God’s turf. You, like Mary, have the same choice. Will you take God at His word, or will you try to analyze things by what the carnal realm dictates and its limitations? Galatians 3:23-24 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. (24) Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. (KJV) Our justification, our new life, is only revealed and brought forth by faith; our ability to hear the message delivered by Christ and then act on it, and follow through with it, until it accomplishes what is pleasing to God. Before faith became a reality to us we to were shut up and spiritually barren; unable to operate in the power of the Highest realm because we were trying to achieve salvation by old laws and rituals which are now done away in Christ. A new man within us requires a whole new way of thinking and acting. So the less you try to analyze things and figure them out according to your own understanding, the more you will be able to operate in the realm of a higher one. Galatians 4:19-21 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, (20) I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you. (21) Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? (KJV) I have heard it said that child bearing is one of the most painful things to endure, and yet one of the most rewarding afterwards. The same holds true in the spiritual realm as well. Sometimes there is pain and travail within us, a tug of war at times, a new life ready to spring forth, but it is being held back by the flesh not willing to let go. The longer one is in labor the more painful and harder it is to endure until they are able to deliver and bring forth a new life. The same holds true with us. The more we hang onto the old things and the old thinking the more painful it becomes; and the more we hang onto these things the more likely we are to have a miscarriage and miss out on the blessing that was intended for our benefit. You have a seed within you, Christ, which needs to be fed and nurtured if you wish to bring forth a new life within you, and watch it grow to maturity. It pained Paul because he watched a new life begin in the people only to see it aborted by them turning back to the old law. They begin in the Spirit and then try to perfect their walk by the flesh; which the Bible says ‘they that are in the flesh cannot please God’. So which realm will you operate in today? And how do you plan on doing those things that are pleasing to God? If it is by your own thinking and the works of the law then it will be mission impossible. But if it is by faith then it will be mission possible; a victorious outcome to all those that believe. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Luke 16:10-12 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. (11) If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? (12) And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own? (KJV)
Many have aspirations of being a minister of God; however, they overlook simple little things that cause them to fall away. Paul was specific to write that the root cause of all evil is traced back to the heart and the true desires of it. In our Lord’s realm, it is the opposite of mans; what man esteems to be first on their priority list is actually the least concern of our Lord, where what the Lord would consider first would get put on the back burner by man. Yeah that love of money has taken many a well intentioned preacher to the bottom and drowned them in destruction and perdition. Luke 16:13-14 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (14) And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. (KJV) It’s one or the other Church, we are either with our Lord or we are in opposition, no middle ground. I have heard some modern day Pharisees who claim that giving money to their organizations is the highest form of worship. Yet our Lord was quite specific in the fact that His true worshippers would be doing so in the realm of the Spirit, and according to truth, which has nothing to do with dollar amounts, does it? Luke 12:25-28 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? (26) If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? (27) Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. (28) If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? (KJV) The Lord desires for His people to grow up and mature in the realm of the Spirit by their faith in the completed work that He has done on our behalf. However, when looking around today and listening to many of mans fallen doctrines I see that they are spinning in circles thinking that something carnal would ever satisfy a Spiritual need. 1 Corinthians 5:6-8 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? (7) Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: (8) Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. (KJV) Didn’t take much leaven to get in and infiltrate the whole lump did it? The enemy tweaks the doctrine a little bit, just enough to make it too good to be true. In order to partake of the riches above and be used of God effectively, you will need to abandon your pursuit of the riches of this fallen temporal world. You just can’t have it both ways Church. James 3:4-6 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. (5) Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! (6) And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. (KJV) You know, if that rudder is just a bit off in the beginning of the launch and nobody notices it right away, by the time it gets to the other side of the sea it will be way off course. Didn’t take much to cause trouble did it; a very small helm or that little member of ours called a tongue, which can be such a hot button if left unchecked. Hebrews 5:11-12 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. (12) For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. (KJV) God has called many into His fold, yet in the end only a few are really chosen. The few are the ones who have not overlooked the simple little things that God said would be deal breakers if not observed. Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (KJV) God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Mark 8:6-9 And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people. (7) And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them. (8) So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets. (9) And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away. (KJV)
I would like to address an issue I have seen taking place and expose it for the carnal way man thinks. First of all I would like to know how do people describe a gift to God, and then they categorize it large or small. Really, because from what I am seeing God’s ways are so much higher than mans; in fact it is described as being as high as the heaven from the earth. We are the ones that downplay what the Lord is asking of us, and then keep Him in our carnal little boxes. Luke 21:1-4 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. (2) And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. (3) And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: (4) For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had. (KJV) Wow, that is totally opposite of what many are teaching, because they make it sound like the more I give the more I get. Yet isn’t it interesting once again to see where our Lord put the emphasis, and that would be on the inward intent of the heart and not the outward amount so many judge by. James 2:1-4 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. (2) For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; (3) And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: (4) Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? (KJV) I have actually seen where so called ministers do their telethons and then offer special privileges, even a gold brick that they will put your name on if you give a certain amount. Again, mind boggling isn’t it; and yet so carnal compared to how our Lord would have us deal with His people is it not? James 2:5-6 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? (6) But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? (KJV) Boy O boy, because of the simple little things that they let slip through their Spiritual radars they still judge things by the outward appearance rather than the inward one that our Lord looks at. 1 Corinthians 12:23-25 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. (24) For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: (25) That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. (KJV) Houston we have a problem; this rocket just won’t get off the ground because mankind is still stuck in their lower fallen limited natures and have overlooked those people that God requires us to give the more abundant honor to. Simple, and yet just enough to keep the mission grounded. God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Deuteronomy 7:6-8 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. (7) The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: (8) But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. (KJV)
I hope and pray that you don’t base salvation on big numbers and head counts as many false prophets and teachers do. Actually the only thing that does count is your love and commitment to our Lord in return for all that He has done for His people. Oh, and don’t take it personal as you grow and mature in your walk with the Lord that the numbers on the path of life seem to be dwindling. Luke 12:31-34 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. (32) Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (33) Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. (34) For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (KJV) As you can see, the flock gets narrowed down when it comes to personal responsibility with the Lord. In the end the reality is only a few are willing to lay down their lives and sell out the world and its fallen ways. Many today still treasure carnal riches more than the heavenly ones that God had His Son die for and they are exposed for their folly. You will find out that as you set your affection on things above the enemy is no longer getting a clear shot at the heart because of the shield of faith that you are holding up. Matthew 9:36-38 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. (37) Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; (38) Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. (KJV) Oh the Church is growing in leaps and bounds and the numbers are staggering. Well, when one takes off their rose colored carnal glasses they see that it is not so. In fact when you look up the word ‘few’ you see the term, little, puny, and small being mentioned. Matthew 22:12-14 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. (13) Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (14) For many are called, but few are chosen. (KJV) The many decided to exchange the truth for a lie and did not show up with the right garment. Many today are still operating according to their own righteousness and not the Lord’s, and they will not have much of a response some day when the Lord exposes them for who they really are. Matthew 18:18-20 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (19) Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. (20) For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. (KJV) Huh? Two or three, that doesn’t seem like much does it? Well, according to God you have a majority no matter how small you think it is. God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. 2 Corinthians 11:1-3 Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. (2) For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. (3) But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (KJV)
It has been said that it is not the mountains that we trip over, rather it is the small stumbling blocks that trip us up at times. Things were pretty simple before the fall of mankind; after all it was not until after the fall that the law was introduced and then it became quite a complicated situation to deal with. Today we are in an age of grace where things should be simple because that is the way that our Lord made His plan of salvation to work. However, unless we keep the eyes of our understanding open and alert, we will find ourselves falling for little things that we should have seen right in front of us. Psalms 119:104-105 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. (105) Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (KJV) We live in a world of darkness because there is really not that many left who are truly shining the light of the Lord out there. Satan has many who appear as an angel of light, however, just like with the number 666 it is not complete and just enough of the truth is left out of the doctrine that they bring. You will find in your walk that if you just concentrate on your next step today, what is right in front of you, you won’t fall for some cheap trick or illusion of the enemy. Simply put, take no thought for tomorrow. James 3:1-2 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. (2) For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. (KJV) Williams New Testament translation for James 3:1-2 1. Many of you, my brothers, should avoid becoming teachers, because you know that we teachers are going to be judged with stricter judgment than other people. 2. For we all make many a slip. If anyone never slips in speech, he is a man of maturity; he can control his whole body too. Many desire to teach and preach the word of God, however, the truth is that few are willing to walk the walk first. With many they are like the national debt where their talk is way ahead of their walk and it will take some simple hearing on their part to bridge the gap. Many overlook and downplay the importance of the tongue and don’t realize that our words will make or break our entrance into the kingdom of God and His eternal inheritance. 2 John 1:7-11 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. (8) Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. (9) Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. (10) If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: (11) For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. (KJV) Don’t be like the many who are off and running at the mouth, when the truth is that their heart is far from the Lord. If you don’t know the doctrine of Christ then you are not with Him, which puts you in the category of antichrist. So simple and yet so little seen. God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
