Hebrews 4:12-13 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. (KJV)
The Word of God is a person who is now seated at the right hand of God. This Word is living and powerful; which if you allow it in, makes you alive and full of the power of God. This Word is God’s and has always been a part of the godhead or trinity as some call it. This Word works in unison with God accomplishing what He speaks. Philippians 2:11-13 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. (KJV) In order to come to a working knowledge of salvation you need to know who the Son of God is and what name He goes by. Today many only see and refer to the Son as Jesus, without knowing who Christ is. Jesus was the Son of man, the vessel God was manifest in. Christ is the Son of God who was sent to bring reconciliation, who God worked in and through to make it possible. Galatians 2:20-21 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. (KJV) Paul made the statement that ‘he died daily’, so that more of Christ could come alive in him. Christ is the Word of God within you, and when you die to the outward influences you allow Him to resurrect daily within you. Many today frustrate the working of the Spirit by going back to the works of the law which has nothing to do with salvation. You will find the Word of God coming to life in you when you learn to walk more by faith and less by sight. 1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. (KJV) We talked this week about the three that bear witness in heaven, and we see that God is listed at the top. Christ is His Son who was sent to us and took up residence in the flesh of Jesus of Nazareth. Without knowing this mystery for yourself you will get blown to and fro with mans’ winds of doctrines that can’t see beyond the outward man and claim that Jesus was God. John 17:1-5 These words spoke Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gave me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. (KJV) Jesus Christ is the complete name which gives the complete answer to how God was manifest in the flesh and justified in the Spirit. Our Lord knew His time here on earth was about to come to an end and He was going be glorified with the glory He had before the foundation of the world. God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 1:14-16 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, this was he of whom I spoke, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 16 And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace. (KJV)
John the Baptist was born before Jesus of Nazareth, yet he made a statement that confused those around him, saying, “he was before me”. In order to understand and rightly divide the Word, we need to know who it is that was before him. John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. (KJV) In fact this Word is what brought John the Baptist into existence, the Word that was with God even before the foundation of the world. Without this Word nothing is made and that includes you the believer. I John 5:7-9 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. 9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. (KJV) Now some see that the Word was God so they swear up and down that Jesus then had to be God. However, the Bible is very specific to point out the simple fact that the Word is a vital part of the God head, along with God and the Holy Spirit and that these three work in unison. You will need to hear firsthand the witness of God if you truly desire to receive His eternal inheritance which is only revealed through the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. (KJV) God is in Christ, so if Christ is in you then God is there also. Now that doesn’t mean you are God anymore than it meant Jesus of Nazareth was. It means that Jesus allowed the Spirit of Christ to have more of an influence on Him than the carnal mind. What would your life be like if you followed suit? 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. (KJV) The mystery of godliness is revealed to us throughout the New Testament and seen clearly by those that look beyond the realm of the flesh and into the Spirit for the answer. God’s Word was manifest in the flesh of Jesus of Nazareth who found justification through the Spirit of Christ working within Him. You have access to this same God who would like to manifest Himself through you; now the question is, will you allow Him? God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. (KJV)
When God saw that everything He created was good, believe it or not, that included you too. God looked at your life and the perfect plan He had for it and said it was very good. Now ask yourself honestly, is my life a good example of salvation? John 14:8-10 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it suffices us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, show us the Father? 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he doeth the works. (KJV) The Word of God was made flesh, and dwelt in the temple of Jesus of Nazareth. He was the first born again man who demonstrated to all believers what is possible through the Word of God which he spoke and believed in. Jesus was not God anymore than you are; however, just like Jesus of Nazareth we have God working within us, if we let Him have His way. This man was confident enough in His walk to let His actions do the speaking for Him. Not something we see much of anymore is it? John 14:10-13 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he doeth the works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (KJV) One day the Lord asked me personally what the difference was between me and His Son, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. After pondering this question for a while I got a quick response that hit home with me. The difference was that Jesus Christ never told God what He couldn’t do through Him; instead He was willing to allow all things to be possible. Sometimes I have not, because I ask not, due to unbelief. John 6:63-64 It is the spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. 64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. (KJV) Our Lord was willing to speak whatever He was hearing from God, no matter what the outward appearance dictated. Because of his faith He never fell into sin. I on the other hand have betrayed the Lord because of unbelief thinking I knew better. Bottom line, our carnal words and thoughts do not bring life in the Spirit, rather they bind the Lord from working on our behalf. God bless dearly loved; today let your words bring life in the Spirit; and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. (KJV)
Verse 1 explains that the Word was with God because it is His Word that was sent to deliver us from our own self destructive fallen natures that we have been entrapped in since the fall of Adam. Many claim that Jesus was God because of what is written in verse 1. As we go along this week we will clarify who this Word really is, and who God is revealing to His people. Hebrews 6:13-15 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he swore by himself, 14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. (KJV) We serve a God who cannot lie. When He gave His Word to His people they could take comfort in the fact that it would get His results. God has sworn His promise of eternal life to any and all that are willing to live by the faith of His Son who accomplished a work of redemption for all mankind. In fact there is no greater source that we can rely on than His spoken word. I John 4:2-4 Hereby know you the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (KJV) Speaking of someone greater, all one needs to do is look within to find the greatest answer available for any and all situations that cross your path. You have that same word of life that created the heavens and earth dwelling within you the believer even though at times you walk around like you are on your own. That same God that was working in Jesus Christ desires to work in you. In fact, He said that all that we have seen Jesus Christ do while walking this earth, we could do also and greater things. John 5:19-21 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do: for what things so ever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. 20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows him all things that himself doeth: and he will show him greater works than these that ye may marvel. 21 For as the Father raises up the dead, and quickens them; even so the Son quickens whom he will. (KJV) Take a moment and look in the mirror, because when doing so you should be seeing yourself as one of God’s sons or daughters who has access to all these works and greater. After all, if He can raise you from the dead spiritually, then why not find out everything else He has to offer you in this new life in Christ. God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (KJV)
Psalms 119:105 [Thy word is a lamp] This is illustrated thus by Solomon, Prov 6:23: "The commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life." God's word is a candle which may be held in the hand to give us light in every dark place and chamber; and it is a general light shining upon all his works, and upon all our ways. (from Adam Clarke's Commentary) The counsel of God will continually enlighten the eyes of our understanding and enable us to continue in the way of righteousness. It will keep us on the path of the just which is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The straight and narrow path that leads home is that just path which is lit up for us to follow as we continue to walk in the law of faith unto the perfect day. Are you allowing the Word to enlighten your path today, to guide your every step? If not, then begin right now, today, to allow the Holy Spirit which is given unto you to lead and guide you into all truth, the truth that will set you free and keep you free as you continue in it. Let God’s counsel open up the way that will illuminate the truth unto everlasting life. Let the Word instruct you to: not be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and perfect will of God; to come out from among the world, from the ungodly counsel and the way of sinners; as well as not sit in the seat (or assembly) of those who mock the Word of God in their unrighteous works that are based on the curse of the old law that was taken away in Christ (thus they make the cross of Christ of none effect), and who corrupt the simplicity of the gospel of Christ for filthy lucre sake. Today, take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. Psalms 1:1-2 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. (2) But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. (KJV) So instead of walking in darkness, be blessed and delight in the law of the Lord, in His law of faith; and continue to meditate in it day and night; receive instruction which will keep your path enlightened in the way, the truth, and the life. And you just may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God unto the perfect day. God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Yesterday we shared on the bearing of fruit, the fruit of the Spirit. So today I would like to share Wycliffe’s commentary on the following verses.
Galatians 5:22-25 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (24) And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. (25) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (KJV) Galatians 5:22-25 Everything here stands in contrast to the foregoing: fruit instead of works; the Spirit instead of the flesh; and a list of virtues altogether attractive and desirable in place of the ugly things just cited. The word fruit, being singular, as usual in Paul's writings, tends to emphasize the unity and coherence of the life in the Spirit as opposed to the disorganization and instability of life under the dictates of the flesh. It is possible, also, that the singular may be intended to point to the person of Christ, in whom all these things are seen in their perfection. The Spirit seeks to produce these by reproducing Christ in the believer (cf. Gal 4:19). Passages like Rom 13:14 suggest that the moral problems of redeemed men and women can be solved by the adequacy of Christ when he is appropriated by faith. In the light of Paul's preference for the singular form of fruit, it is not necessary to resort to the expedient of putting a dash after love in order to make all the other items depend on this one. Love is crucial (1 John 4:8; 1 Cor 13:13; Gal 5:6). Joy is conferred by Christ upon his own followers (John 15:11) and is mediated by the Spirit (1 Thess 1:6; Rom 14:17). Peace is the gift of Christ (John 14:27) and includes inward repose (Phil 4:6) and harmonious relations with others (contrast Gal 5:15,20). Longsuffering relates to one's attitude toward others and involves a refusal to retaliate or work vengeance for wrong received. It is literally long-spiritedness. Gentleness is better rendered kindness. It is benevolence in action, a distinctly social virtue. Goodness is an uprightness of soul that abhors evil, a clean-cut honesty of motive and conduct. Faith, in this setting, means faithfulness (if it were faith, it would stand at the beginning of the list). For a parallel use, see Titus 2:10 ("fidelity"). Meekness is based on humility and denotes an attitude toward others in keeping with due denial of self. Temperance is better rendered self-control (lit., a holding in with a firm hand), or control of the self life by means of the Spirit. Against such there is no law. "Law exists for the purpose of restraint, but in the works of the Spirit there is nothing to restrain" (J. B. Lightfoot, Galatians, p. 213). The same truth is stated elsewhere, e.g., Rom 8:4. Those who are truly Christ's must be like him in that they participate in his cross. They have crucified the flesh. Ideally, this points to their identification with Christ in his death (Gal 2:20). Practically, it emphasizes, the need of carrying the cross principle into the redeemed life, since the flesh, with its affections and desires is still an ever present reality (cf. 5:16-17). The same tension between divine provision and human appropriation is found regarding the Spirit. We live in the Spirit by God's arrangement, by means of the gift of the Spirit at conversion. But we walk in the Spirit as a matter of personal volition, taking each step in dependence upon him. (from The Wycliffe Bible Commentary) Remember brethren, we are known by our fruit. So if the Lord walked by you today would He see His fruit and be well pleased? God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Bearing fruit begins within the vine; the roots which pull up the nutrients and the water from the soil produces the branches and the fruit which hang from them. That which is sown within is what will produce the fruit without. And depending on the type of soil and water that the vine is produced from will determine the outcome of the fruit bearing.
So with this in mind we have been grafted into the One true vine which is sown in good fertile ground with living waters plenty bearing the fruit of the Spirit. Yet for us, as one of the branches grafted in, we need to continually partake of the this source of nourishment to remain healthy and able to bear fruit that is well pleasing to the husbandman, He who planted the One true vine in the first place for us to be a part of and partake of. As we continue in the vine, which is Christ, our Father in heaven continually prunes away the old so that we can continue to draw strength and nourishment from our source of life and allow Him to bring forth new growth and maturity that enables us to continue to bear the fruit of the Spirit and remain grafted in. John 15:1-8 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. (2) Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. (3) Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. (4) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (5) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (KJV) Remember the consequences of not continuing to abide in the One true vine, is that one will be cut off and cast away because they have not glorified our Father neither have they bore His fruit which is well pleasing in His sight. John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (KJV) So brethren, today I encourage you to continue in Christ and allow our Father to prune you so that you are able to continue to bear much fruit, His Spiritual fruit in your life, and to then share this fruit with others that they too may partake of the fruit of the One true vine, Christ in you. Herein is our Father glorified. John 15:7-8 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (8) Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. (KJV) God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. I was walking into work one morning and thought in my mind ‘another day in paradise’ in a kind of sarcastic tone. I then heard the Lord speak to me that in Christ it is another day in paradise. Let’s just say that my attitude changed at that point.
Remember the thief on the cross and what our Lord spoke to him? The thief confessed with his mouth and believed in his heart the Lord Jesus Christ unto his own salvation, and was given a place in paradise. Luke 23:39-43 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. (40) But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? (41) And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. (42) And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. (43) And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. (KJV) And I am sure that you remember that Jesus Christ spoke that He would go and prepare a place for us and that where He is so there we may be also. John 14:1-4 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. (2) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (4) And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. (KJV) When we accepted Jesus Christ we were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise and given a seat in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, paradise. Ephesians 2:4-6 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, (5) Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (6) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: (KJV) Each day that we chose to remain seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus is another day in paradise. So remember brethren that we are in paradise, today, right now if that is where we chose to be, and we are blessed with all spiritual blessings when we remain seated at the right hand of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. So however we look at life today, whatever comes our way, where ever we are, let’s remember that paradise is within us giving us the light of life that warms the heart and provides a peace that passes all understanding. What a beautiful thing to partake of another day in paradise, in Christ. John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. (KJV) God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Whose armour; God’s or man’s? Many are walking around with man’s armour on, wrestling with flesh and blood instead of remaining seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. They are unable to get the victory in Christ because they are walking around with man’s heavy laden armour on, those traditions and doctrines of man that weigh one down, unable to be agile and ready to put the Word of God on the scene and defeat the enemy. The only thing they are able to do is hide behind man’s armour just hoping that the fiery darts of the devil won’t get through. They follow these traditions and doctrines that place them in direct contradiction to the Word and unable to stand against the wiles of the devil. And so they are overtaken and everything they trusted in is spoiled.
Luke 11:21-22 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: (22) But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils. (KJV) The armour of God is tried and true. It is proven. Without Christ you are unable to stand against the wiles of the devil. It is only in Christ that we can stand firm and have access to the living waters that will extinguish the fiery darts of the enemy and give us the victory. David, when confronting the enemy took with him the armour of God which he knew and had proved, and left behind the heavy armour that man trusted in, and was victorious over the enemy. In a way that the yoke was easy and the burden was light; in the most simple way possible; by faith, trust in the Lord which he knew to be tried and true. 1 Samuel 17:34-39 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: (35) And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. (36) Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God. (37) David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee. (38) And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail. (39) And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him. (KJV) David trusted the Lord and took Him as his armour up against the enemy instead of that which he had not proven. We too are encouraged to trust in the Lord and to put on and take the whole armour of God, that which is proven, in which we are complete and able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-18 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. (11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; (16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (KJV) Are you standing in the tried and true armour of God which is proven? If not, then whose armour? If it is not the Lord’s then the only other one is the heavy laden of man which is weighed down with traditions and doctrines. God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Galatians 1:13-16 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: 14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, 16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: (KJV)
God is pleased with your walk when you separate yourself from anything or anyone that would hinder your new life in Christ. I had to have the old religious umbilical cord cut off so that I could draw life direct from a new source. I have wasted too much time in the past trying to please people that will never be pleased no matter what I do. Once I tasted of the new life in Christ and all that He had to offer, there was no going back to that dead end realm of the flesh and people pleasing. Luke 12:32-34 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts. 34 For where your treasure is there will your heart be also. (KJV) Do you really want to know what gives God pleasure? That would be when you learn to receive all that He has to offer His church and quit settling for mans’ cheap imitations. Sell out to the old way of thinking and learn to walk in a newness of life which is by faith and not by sight. Our Lord died to give mankind access to His kingdom, and it grieves the Spirit when man chooses not to receive it. Ephesians 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, (KJV) We ended this week talking about what is pleasing to God. We serve a God who planned our life out before the foundation of the world according to His good pleasure and not what our carnal limited minds conjure up. Do you desire to please God? Then let go and find out what He planned for you in love. II Thessalonians 1:11-12 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: 12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (KJV) My prayer for all of God’s people is that they learn what pleases God and not be concerned with what man thinks. It was man that fell into sin and not the other way around, so why waste anymore time trying to please fallen mankind? Philippians 2:13-16 For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 14 Do all things without murmurings and disputing: 15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither labored in vain. (KJV) God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
