1Thessalonians 2:3-6 For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile: (4) But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. (5) For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness: (6) Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ. (KJV)
Flattering words are those that seek to please the people, which can actually beguile them as well if one is not saying what they truly mean. Say what you mean and mean what you say when speaking on behalf of our Lord. Many are more concerned with what people’s perception of them is rather than the approval of our Lord, which makes them more of a hindrance than an asset to the body of Christ. So how do you give God’s answer to people, is it the straight forward truth that will set them free or are you sugar coating the speech to make it more acceptable to them? When you are asked a question, do you give simple yes and no answers or do you feel it is necessary to explain yourself to people, trying to explain it in a way you hope they will accept? For those that wish to truly please our Lord you will find that trying to please God and man just doesn’t seem to work, like mixing oil and water, it just doesn’t gel. For those that are truly steadfast and unmovable in their walk, they will find that pleasing God alone may leave you on a narrow path, one that is not heavily traveled, but the only one that leads to our eternal inheritance. Matthew 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. (KJV) Williams New Testament translation for Matthew 5:37 37. But your way of speaking must be a simple `Yes' or `No.' Anything beyond this comes from the evil one. Have you ever had someone ask you a question or make a request for you to do something and your answer was no? Then once you gave your answer there is a space of uncomfortable silence, where now you are expected or think you owe an explanation? This is exactly what the Lord is referring to here; keep your answer simple and to the point and don’t think you always have to explain yourself. Many of us have been brought up with the mindset that we need to be polite and do things just to please others, even things that are contrary to sound doctrine or something the Lord just isn’t asking us to partake of. Now I am not saying to be a jerk, but rather if the Lord asks you not to involve yourself in something, no matter how popular it may be to others, a simple yes or no answer is all that is needed to be pleasing to our Father. And don’t think you need to manufacture an answer just because someone else is putting the pressure on you, if you don’t have an answer at the time or if you are just not sure, then it would be in your best interest to leave it alone and not try to make something up that you will regret later. Sometimes the Lord just may ask you to not get involved even though at the time you are not sure why; but by letting patience have its perfect work, sometime later the answer will manifest as to why the Lord had you withdraw from it. Simply put this is just another way of saying we walk by faith and not sight. Basically what Paul is saying is that if you are always seeking to be a people pleaser, then don’t expect to be used by God. However if you chose His approval above anyone or anything else then you will be a vessel fit, ready for the Masters use. Psalms 5:8-9 Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. (9) For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue. (KJV) Have you ever seen people and the term ‘slick’ applies as a fitting nickname? Someone that always tells everyone what they want to hear, someone that just uses people for their own advantage? The reason there is no faithfulness coming out of the mouth is because there is nothing in the heart but two faced double talk; always the nice guy telling people what they want to hear and not what is really going on, which aptly describes many of the so called pastors and teachers we have around today. Are you able to give a straightforward answer concerning the kingdom of God or do you skirt the truth leaving out the essentials so as not to offend anyone? When someone asks your response to an issue are you able to respond with what is pleasing to God or are you more concerned with mans opinion of you? If someone asks you to get involved in something that is not peaceable, something you know is not of God, do you feel the need to explain it in a way they will accept, sugar coating it, or do you just give a simple yes or no answer and let them ask God for themselves if they are really concerned? We have way too many people pleasers preaching and teaching things they shouldn’t be for their own advantage sake and not the Lord’s anymore, which will have dire consequences to those that follow these wishy washy doctrines. Ephesians 4:29-30 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. (30) And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. (KJV) Sometimes what is edifying to the hearers is not always something that is pleasing to them, but something they needed to hear. One of the ways many corrupt the true communication that should be coming from the mouth is by flattery, people pleasing, someone that should have been a minister of grace is now a disgrace in the sight of our Lord. It grieves the Holy Spirit to see the true intention of God watered down by those that don’t have the spiritual spine to stand up and tell the people what they need to hear and not just what they want to hear. When you were raising your children and all they were concerned with in their diet was things that had sugar and spice, things that they thought were nice, did you cave in and give them what they wanted or what they needed? As one matures, and this does include maturing in the Lord, you find out that in order to grow strong it will take a much better diet than that to maintain a healthy body. So it is not only a matter of what you are feeding yourself spiritually, but what are you feeding others around you as well? Is it simple truth that will build them up and edify or are you halting between two opinions seeking the favor of man and God at the same time? Psalms 12:1-4 Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men. (2) They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak. (3) The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things: (4) Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us? (KJV) Ever hear the term two faced? Well we have a lot of two faced people that speak from both sides of their mouth because of a double heart, which makes them double minded and unstable in the things of our Lord. So who is Lord in your life, and whose words are you speaking today? Are they spirit and are they life to the brethren or are they of your own tongue seeking your own desires? Don’t wait till it’s too late to find out, remember flattery will get you nowhere. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Matthew 6:1-4 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. (2) Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. (3) But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: (4) That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. (KJV)
Do you want the honor from above, then quit seeking it here on earth. Many want the approval of the Lord, but waste their time seeking it from man. What are the true motives of your heart? What is the true reason you serve the Lord? Is it to please a pastor, parent, wife, husband, boy or girlfriend, or your boss at work? God see’s the secret inward heart of man, and only gives His stamp of approval to those that do serve Him no matter what the consequences are, or who on earth it offends. Colossians 3:22-25 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: (23) And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; (24) Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. (25) But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons. (KJV) What about the job you have, are you doing it to please man, or is it being done to please God? I have worked with those that claim to be of God, only to have a lousy work ethic, and basically flush their testimony down the drain. Do you only work when the boss is around or looking, then slack off when he or she is not? The Lord said in order to be faithful in spiritual things we need to be faithful in earthly things first. There are many who think they can serve God who haven’t learned this lesson, so they spend more time putting on a front, rather than being up front with the truth. And so as it is written in Matthew, they will have no reward of our Father. So smile, you’re on the Lord’s very candid camera, which sees and knows the thoughts and intents of the heart, and will only reward those that do those things heartily unto Him and are not concerned with what man thinks. It doesn’t matter who you are, or who you think you are, or how long you claim to have known God, He does not play favorites like man does, and does not waver one bit concerning His word. Galatians 2:9-11 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision. (10) Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do. (11) But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. (KJV) Cephas was another name given to Peter, the same Peter that walked with the Lord, and ended up writing letters in the Bible, was one perceived to be a pillar by many, until the Lord instructed Paul the apostle otherwise. We know Peter denied the Lord three times before the crucifixion of our Lord, but have you ever read how he denied the Lord even after his conversion, and who God used to bring the correction? Galatians 2:12-14 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. (13) And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. (14) But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? (KJV) Basically Peter was playing musical chairs, he would eat with the Gentiles, but when the Jewish religious people showed up, he would jump over to their table and try to appease them, even to the point that others were getting caught up in the charade. Trying to please people rather than God; a double minded man will not receive anything from the Lord, including His reward if the warning is not heeded. Ever wonder why God used Paul to write most of the epistles? Are you willing to stand up and speak the truth, no matter who it is or who they think they are? No matter how much of a pillar in the community man considers them, are you willing to tell them where God sees them no matter where that may be? 2 Peter 3:15-16 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; (16) As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. (KJV) God did continue to use Peter; and as Peter wrote in his second letter, he acknowledges his beloved brother Paul, and his willingness to be used of God. Though many times Paul would meet opposition, especially with those that claim to know God, the ones that would heed the warning and correction were able to be used of God, while others would twist and pervert the scriptures to their own destruction. So don’t take it personal if God asks you to speak the truth, and you too are met with opposition, especially within the realm of Christianity, or those that claim to be Christians, because though many are called few are truly seeking the honor from above. Remember, it was the religious leaders that rejected our Lord, and ultimately betrayed Him. Today not much has changed. There are still many religious people who are still crucifying the message of our Lord today, trying to please the congregation rather than the Lord. Luke 19:45-47 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; (46) Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves. (47) And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him, (KJV) Our Lord Himself did not get a standing ovation from the crowd, but rather was sent to set things in order the way God intended it to be. The more He chose to please God, the less appealing He was to those that were perceived pillars in the temple as well. So what are you going to do if you are not a crowd favorite anymore? Will that alter your stand and commitment, or will it just strengthen it further? Will you fold under peer pressure, or will you continue in the faith grounded and settled and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel as many before you have, and as many as hope to be honorably mentioned before our Father in heaven? God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 8:54-55 Jesus answered, if I honor myself, my honor is nothing: it is my Father that honors me; of whom ye say that he is your God: 55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying. (KJV)
When watching some of mans’ so called ministries, they hand pick certain people that will say nice things about their organizations thinking it will give them creditability. The people running these organizations are not really preachers of truth; instead they have become more like C.E.O’s of large manmade religious corporations. The problem is the same thing we see illustrated in the verse above, they never got to know Christ personally and don’t know who God is either; so instead of bringing honor to His name they end up in shame. I John 2:18-20 18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. (KJV) The reason these antichrists have been popping up more frequently lately is because we are in the last days in which it was prophesied that the Holy Spirit would be poured out on mankind. What you will find the Spirit revealing is the name of Christ, the Son of the living God. So by keeping Christ out of the pulpits it keeps God out as well, which is why the enemy is out and about coming against this revelation. I John 2:21-23 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist that denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denies the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledges the Son hath the Father also. (KJV) Remember what our Lord said would happen to those that denied Him before men? When they don’t truly know His name, He will in turn say He never knew them either. Again we see the Father and Son are a package deal don’t we? I John 4:1-3 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know you the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (KJV) The same test God will be giving someday before His throne is one you can give to others to know if they truly are of God. If their answer doesn’t involve Jesus Christ and His doctrine, I would be dusting my feet off and walking away because they are not bringing honor to our Father or His Son. Matthew 7:21-23 Not everyone that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (KJV) Oooops, there is that term “many” again; and the common theme among these “many” is a name that they obviously were not aware of. When they do not honor the Father with the correct name of His Son, we see in return He does not know their name or have it recorded in His book of life. Dearly loved, don’t be like the many; instead be as the few who honor the Father in Spirit and in truth through and in His Son Christ Jesus. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Proverbs 30:4-5 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. (KJV)
In our search for truth throughout the scriptures the question is asked about God with mention of His Son also. When you are asked personally about God and His Son will you be able to give the correct response knowing who it came from? If you truly desire to make it to your eternal destination you will need to hear firsthand from the Son so that you will be able to give honor to the Father. John 3:11-13 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, we speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. (KJV) Though man has tried many ways to ascend to heaven through various doctrines that they think will give them access, we see the Son who was sent our way, to show us the way. This man is an eyewitness to what is taking place in heaven and the plan of salvation God has given, so that mankind can make it there also. John 17:1-3 These words spoke Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. (KJV) Many today dishonor God by claiming Jesus was God. What they are doing is leaving out the Son who was sent by God so that we to could glorify His name. This man is the only one that has eternal life which He is willing to give freely to any and all that are willing to worship God in Spirit and in truth. John 17:24-26 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou loved me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. (KJV) This was our Lord’s prayer shortly before His departure from planet earth. We see who God sent our way to present His plan of salvation to us as well as the glory God had bestowed upon Him. If God has given Jesus Christ glory and honor, shouldn’t that be good enough for His church? II John 1:7-10 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 9 Whosoever transgresses, and abides not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abides in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: (KJV) Some of these people you are saying amen with, are not really bringing honor and glory to God because they do not know the doctrine of Christ. It’s important that you know the Son in order to bring honor to the Father. God bless dearly loved, and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Peter 1:7-8 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: (KJV)
The reason your faith is on trial is because you are bringing honor to God by knowing His Son Jesus Christ and the only doctrine that sets His people free. Again we see that this is not something you will see with the carnal eye; it takes enlightenment from above to see the true honor and glory that is in the Father and the Son. Matthew11:25-27 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knows the Son, but the Father; neither knows any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. (KJV) No man knows who the Father is, unless they know the Son who has to be revealed to them personally. Many have searched the scriptures and have come up with many names for Him, but few have truly received firsthand knowledge from above to know who they are in Christ. John 15:22-24 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. 23 He that hates me hates my Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. (KJV) We are encouraged to think it not strange when a fiery trial comes our way, because those that are in the flesh will not receive the things of God so they take it out on the messengers. Notice giving honor to the Son also honors the Father; the flip side is when they hate the Son they hate the Father as well. What you will find consistently throughout the Word is that this is a package deal, a combination if you would. You can’t have one without the other. John 6:44-47 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets, and they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. 46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. 47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. (KJV) Given the fact that no man can see, why not go to the ‘one mediator’ that is able to give you a clear insight into the realm of the Spirit? Many today are giving carnal accounts of the Son and only pray in the name of Jesus, leaving Christ out of their teachings and prayers. Not something our Father honors. John 14:6-9 Jesus says unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it suffices us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? (KJV) The first thing a good detective does is seek out evidence from an eyewitness. You have been assigned to a spiritual case and you need to seek out and detect for yourself who our Father is, and who the Son is who will give us an accurate firsthand account. God bless dearly loved, and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 5:39-41 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 41 I receive not honor from men. (KJV)
My issue with mans’ doctrines today is that they don’t give honor to the Father, because they ignore His Son. When doing a search of the scriptures one should know the mystery of the gospel that will bring life to the Word and give you a rock solid foundation to build on. Many today are more interested in what man has to say than God Himself, worshipping the creation more than the Creator. John 5:42-44 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. 43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 44 How can ye believe, which receive honor one of another, and seek not the honor that cometh from God only? (KJV) Today if a big name preacher was to show up in town, many would flock to hear what they claim brings honor to God; but for those that have the eyes of their understanding enlightened, they find that God is revealing more than just a man named Jesus, He is revealing Christ the Son of the living God, the light that brings understanding to the world. Today I hear of so few that teach the doctrine of Christ and the complete name that makes His people complete and brings honor to our Father. John 1:11-13 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (KJV) Our Lord is reaching out today to His people, however, you won’t find Him in the outward realm; your search needs to take place in the Spirit. Many today are not receiving Him or His testimony because they don’t believe on the name of His Son, Jesus Christ. These are people that claim to be born again by the will of God; but they dishonor Him with their doctrines. John 3:17-20 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hates the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. (KJV) The condemnation is by those that don’t know and believe in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son that was sent for our salvation. Many today run from the light instead of embracing it and dealing with their issues straight up; you will never mature spiritually until you know who the Son is and what name He goes by. Romans 8:1-4 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (KJV) The condemnation is eliminated for those that are in Christ Jesus, those that know the Son personally. That is why the enemy is out and about doing all he can to discredit the Son, which discredits the Father also; and that is why he is described as antichrist. Dearly loved, God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Matthew 15:7-9 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people draws nigh unto me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. (KJV)
When a person gives honor to someone it means they value what they say or have done for them. They esteem these people in high regard as being someone they can trust and rely on. Many today claim to honor God, but bring shame and dishonor upon themselves when they don’t make mention of His Son. This week we will give honor to whom honor is due, that being our Father in heaven and His Son. This is a package deal; you can’t have one without the other. Today there are many who stand in buildings and sing and dance waving at the ceiling thinking that is worship, but those that truly know how to worship our Lord in Spirit and in truth, know that worship is a way of life. John 5:22-24 For the Father judges no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 23 That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honors not the Son honors not the Father which hath sent him. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (KJV) The Word is very specific in the fact that we need to honor the Father AND His Son. The word ‘should’ used in verse 23 is something we need to give ear to; if God Himself is giving this man honorable mention, shouldn’t we the Church be doing the same? 2 Peter 1:16-18 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. (KJV) We see Peter talking about another revelation of Christ he received, and it came straight from the top. We see God Himself giving honor unto His Son, and quite frankly I can’t think of anyone else that has had this honor bestowed upon them. Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (KJV) Do you really desire to bring glory to your Father in heaven? If you do then don’t forget about His Son either because He definitely is worth mentioning, even though many are not aware of Him. Many know Jesus after the flesh, but we need to go beyond the outward and into the realm of the Spirit so that we can give honor to Jesus Christ, the only name we should be confessing. God bless dearly loved and honor our Father and His Son Christ Jesus, and have a prosperous day in Him. |
