Good morning. Today's video Personal Effects is on the topic of when you sin against the brethren, you sin against Christ; the effects are personal. Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (KJV) Everything which is done to a follower of Christ, whether it be good or evil, the Lord considers as done to himself. We are to nourish and cherish the members of the body of Christ even as the Lord does the church, which we are if we abide in his love; for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. Remember his prayer in John 17, specifically verses 20-23. Matthew 25:31-41 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: (32) And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: (33) And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. (34) Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: (35) For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: (36) Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. (37) Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? (38) When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? (39) Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? (40) And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. (41) Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: (KJV) Matthew 18:2-7 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, (3) And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. (4) Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (5) And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. (6) But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. (7) Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! (KJV) Acts 9:3-5 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: (4) And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? (5) And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. (KJV) 1 Corinthians 8:9-12 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak. (9) For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols; (11) And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? (12) But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ. (KJV) Romans 14:21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. (KJV) James 3:1-2 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. (2) For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. (KJV) Watch and pray always and consider what you say and what you do. Look not on your own things, but on the things of others; follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith you may edify another. Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts and be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks the reason of the hope that is within you, which hope is Christ (1 Timothy 1:1; Colossians 1:27). Ephesians 4:15-16 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: (16) From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (KJV) Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (KJV) All members are needful, and God sets them in the body as he sees fit (read 1 Corinthians 12). If you or anyone else comes against any part of the body, you come against God and his Christ. The effects to the body are personal to our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. So be aware that what we say or do can have a personal effect on the body of Christ; we are members one of another; and we are not our own. 1 Corinthians 12:18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. (KJV) Romans 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. (KJV) 1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. (KJV) Colossians 1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church: (KJV) Further references: James 2:15-16, 1 John 3:16-18, Deuteronomy 15:7-8, Luke 6:20-38, Proverbs 3:27-28, James 5:13-20, 1 Timothy 4:1-16, 2 Timothy 2:24-26, Proverbs 19:17, Colossians 3:23-24 There are many who corrupt the word of God and crucify the Son of God afresh. But there is still a remnant (few) who continue to hold forth the word of God in sincerity and in truth to the edification of the body of Christ and his glory. The personal effects are eternal; whether it be the sheep on the right hand of the Lord who have done the will of God, blessed of the Father, who will inherit the kingdom prepared for them from the foundation of the world, or whether it be the goats on the left who the Lord considers workers of iniquity and told them to depart from him into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels. With what measure you mete; it shall be measured unto you again. As for us personally, we will continue to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, effectually ministering and holding forth the gospel of Christ in sincerity and in truth for his body’s sake and all those who shall believe on him through our word. Will you do the same? God bless and keep the faith. Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. Good morning. Today's video The Son - Part13 is on the topic of who the Son of God is; the body is of Christ. Dearly loved of God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, and of us; we have been baptized into Christ by the Holy Spirit. We were grafted into the true vine, which is Christ, by our Father in Heaven who is the husbandman who sets every branch in the vine. You can be grafted in when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior; and you can be cutoff due to unbelief just as the natural branches were. So don’t take for granted your place in the vine and boast against the other branches. Now as Christ is that true vine, He is the head of the body; the body of Christ of which we are all members one of another, and should have the same care one of another. God has placed each member in the body where He sees fit and it is up to each of us to find out what our place is and how to operate where He has placed us to the edification of the rest of the body. Ephesians 4:11-16 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (KJV) Now that doesn’t mean that when God placed us in the body in the beginning that, that is where He would have us to remain. As we grow up into Christ, and remain faithful in all our house (spirit, soul, and body) He may move us to another part of the body to fill up that which may be lacking so that the body can remain fitly joined together, compacted by that which every joint supplies, as working effectually in the measure of faith, that the body may increase (that He may increase, and we, our old nature may decrease) unto the edifying of itself in love. The more we allow Christ to remain our Head, the more the body becomes likeminded; serving one another in love; and to love is to lay down our lives for the body (dying to self). 1 John 3:16-18 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. (KJV) The rest of our time on this earth, abiding in Christ in the Spirit, is no longer about us, but about the Head, Christ, and His body of believers. Do you want to be an effective member of the body? Then begin with getting to know who your Head is; take up your cross, crucifying your old nature, and follow Him growing in grace and in the knowledge of who He is and where He would have you to operate each day in the body to the edification of the body. That when He presents His Church, His body, unto God you will be a part of it, Holy and un-blamable in God’s sight. Our ministry is of Christ, as the body is of Christ. Remember, a body without a head is dead; and so will we be if we do not keep Christ as the Head of our body remaining grafted in the true vine; we will be as the branches cut off and cast forth unto men and burned. God bless and remain in the body which is of Christ. You can view all previous videos by going to our YouTube channel Doctrine of Christ Ministry. Have a blessed and prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Good morning. Today's video The Son - Part11 is on the topic of who the Son of God is; the head of the body is Christ. Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Christ is the head of the body, the Church, of whom we are all members if we continue in the faith grounded and settled and be not moved away from the hope that is within us. Our life is now in Christ; so without Christ we can do nothing, just as a body without a head can do nothing. Even the Lord said that he could do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do (John 5:19); as well as, but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things (John 8:28). Notice the Lord said but as my Father hath taught me. Christ gave unto His body all that is needed to grow up into Him in all things concerning the kingdom and righteousness of God (we have the mind of Christ); and for the edifying of the body in love, for we are members one of another (Ephesians 4:11-16); and so that we would be no more children tossed to and fro carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men, cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive, instead we would become grounded and settled in the doctrine of Christ and able to discern the body (i.e. who is truly a member of the body of Christ, for you will know them by their fruit). Last He gave us warnings concerning the faith… Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (KJV) Many false prophets in religious organizations today have cut off the Son of God (Christ in you the hope of glory), and only acknowledge and teach in the name of the son of man, Jesus of Nazareth. They have cut off the head to the body of believers. The life is in God’s Son Christ, the head of the body, the power and wisdom of God. So they have created a body, powerless and headless, i.e. without the mind of Christ, the power and wisdom from above. 1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. (KJV) Christ is the true vine, God our Father is the husbandman or vinedresser, and we are the branches. If we continue to abide in the vine and produce fruit unto righteousness, the Father continues to prune us so that we will bring forth much fruit for the kingdom of Heaven and receive His fullness, therewith we are complete in Him. If we don’t continue to abide in the vine (the Head which gives spiritual nourishment to the body), the Father will cut us off, and as a branch withers so will we, and we will be without hope laid up in a heap with others who did not continue to abide in Christ; and the end of us will be worse than in the beginning for it would have been better that we had not known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and turned away. 2 Peter 2:20-21 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. (KJV) Dearly loved of God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, and of us, don’t be as the many who don’t hold the Head, Christ, as the Head of the Church; instead be as the few who do. Philippians 3:18-21 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (KJV)
Thayer’s definition for effectual: 1754 energeo- 1) to be operative, be at work, put forth power; to work for one, to aid one 2) to effect 3) to display one's activity, to show oneself operative What I enjoy about watching certain personalities, whether an entertainer or a comedian, is their willingness to be open and honest. I have seen some comedians whose routine is based on their own experiences and shortcomings, basically laughing at themselves for certain human traits that they have displayed in life. I have found that the experiences that they share and are open to are things that others can relate to; something they may have done themselves. Sometimes Christians think they have to come off as bullet proof, above reproach, holier than thou comes to mind, rather than just being open and honest concerning their own humanity. In an election year I am wearied by people that are always defending themselves, and putting up these false fronts rather than opening up and being able to relate to the people. Let us consider one another so that when we come together we can provoke unto love and good works; and I have found this works better with some humility, not trying to be better than everyone else but being open and honest concerning things you have dealt with in your walk and how you learned to overcome in those areas. I believe somewhere along the line many that become Christians lose sight of the unique creation in Christ they are; some of those personality traits of yours are of the Lord, something that can be refined and not hidden away or covered up. The Lord didn’t ask you to become a robot when you got saved, in fact He loves you for who you are; so by being open and honest it will keep your prayer life effectual, availing much. Philemon 1:5-7 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; (6) That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. (7) For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother. (KJV) Instead of always looking at the negative, we as Christians should be focusing on the new creation in Christ and not always being everyone else’s faultfinders. If I wish to communicate my faith in Christ with others effectually, then it needs to be done in love and not in an overbearing finger pointing manner. The first person you need to learn to communicate with is God, which can only be done through Jesus Christ so that you can come clean before Him. That takes an open honest relationship, because many think that rather than deal with issues of the heart they spend more time and energy trying to cover them up and hide them. If you can learn to communicate with our Father first and foremost, being approved of Him, then you will be able to communicate your faith with His people. Are there areas you are struggling in or have struggled in? By sharing your experience you may just find your answer with someone else who is or has dealt with these same issues. Or maybe by your open and honest approach to those hidden things, by confessing your own faults and shortcoming, it may just provide the answer for someone else in need. (KJV) When working on cars these days they do a diagnostic check of the engine to make sure that everything is working properly. If one part of the engine is out of sync and not working right it can affect the engines performance as a whole. The same holds true with the body of Christ; the Lord sees the hidden things of darkness within the heart and shows us how to make the adjustments so that there won’t be a breakdown. But if it is ignored and not dealt with properly then it eventually can lead to a breakdown. If you have ever been around mechanics they often share their own experiences they have had with vehicles, some good ones and some bad ones, and some just plain hilarious. The more people can be open and honest with their relationship with the Father, the more effectual they will become and learn how to edify themselves, maintaining their own relationship with their heavenly Father. 2 Corinthians 4:1-2 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; (2) But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. (KJV) How are you representing yourself; are you a manifestation of truth to every man as well as in the sight of God who looks not at the outward but the inward motives? Have you renounced hidden things that offend our Father, things that most of mankind may never be aware of but are things that do not please our Lord? If you have been open and honest with our Lord then you will come off open and honest to His people. But if you haven’t been honest and up front then whatever area you have been overcome by that same thing will keep you in bondage and you won’t be very effective in your communication of faith. I have seen enough plastic people; those in leadership roles who put up these false fronts, these holier than thou attitudes thinking they are God’s gift to mankind rather than being a representation of who truly is that gift to mankind, Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. (13) There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (KJV) Maybe the way of escape that the Lord is providing for someone suffering and struggling in an area is your willingness to be open and honest in sharing some hidden thing you have dealt with yourself. By letting them know that it happened to you, it may just be the liberty they needed to hear for themselves, and enables them to open up as well. Have you ever had a situation happen to you that you thought was crazy, no one else has ever done this or experienced this, only to find out someone else actually had dealt with this same thing and found the way of escape they needed to be able to escape the bondage? Thus the word common. Thayer’s definition for common: 442 anthropinos- human; applied to things belonging to men This is what is called confessing faults, praying for one another, providing an effectual result to set one free, that being with truth and honesty. Many struggle with things and are confused, especially when the devil tries to tell them that they are nuts and no one else has ever dealt with something like that. But the truth be known Church, is that there is nothing new under the sun, and there is nothing you have or are dealing with that hasn’t been dealt with before, a common occurrence to us humans. Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. (KJV) By trying to hide things from God you are in turn hiding them from the brethren, because by not letting the truth set you free by being honest with our Lord you will not be of much effect when around His people. Instead of building up others and edifying them, being able to share the victory we have in Christ, you end up being more of a burden than an asset. Psalms 62:7-8 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. (8) Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. (KJV) Do you truly trust in the Lord at all times; do you wish to be closer to Him and effectual? If you desire Him to draw near to you then He asks that you draw nigh unto Him first. If you truly trust the Lord then you will open up to Him. Why not pour out your heart unto Him? After all He already sees what your true motives are. The truth will set you free; so by being truthful with our Lord you will be free indeed. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
