Good day. Today's video Say What? is on the topic of every idle (useless or unemployed word that we speak we will give account unto God for. It's not just what we say, it's what we do. "So speak ye and so do", being a doer of the word of God and not just a hearer only. Let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. You can view all previous videos by going to our YouTube channel Doctrine of Christ Ministry or by clicking on our archive page link above - Doctrine of Christ Ministry Archive. Have a blessed and prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Things I ponder, things I have heard in the course of my life here on planet earth, so many things that are said, but in the end, who is really speaking, and what are the words we give ear to; are they spirit and life or are they words that are idle, useless and vain, lies that are intended to make one comfortable in their fallen state of sin rather than rising to the new creation in Christ that is available for all? All roads or paths lead to the same place, in other words all these different faiths and religions all end up in heaven; says who!?
Ephesians 4:4-6 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; (5) One Lord, one faith, one baptism, (6) One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (KJV) So how do you respond to life’s questions, and where do you turn to find peace; is it in the truth that sets one free, or do you just assume it is so because someone said it is? It’s true, all paths that are outside the realm of faith do lead to the same place, but according to the word of God it is not the place He intended for you to end up in. So while mankind has developed so many man-made religions and paths that they claim will lead to life, only one is going to get you to your intended destination because whatsoever is not of faith is sin. There are claims being made that there are millions, maybe billions of people that are going to go to heaven some day, even songs are written that claim “there is a whole lot of people going home”, but again I ask, says who!? Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (KJV) Well that just answered my other question; if many are called then why are few chosen, and as I see in the above statements, many are choosing a losing path. What this tells me is the reason many miss the mark and are not on the chosen path is because they stay in the realm of the flesh and not the Spirit, following the crowd rather than our Lord. But they have a big following, their organization is the fastest growing church in the country, so that would clearly indicate they are of God, right, says who!? Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (KJV) Oh my God, there’s the many again; you mean to tell me many are on the wrong path, but you’re talking about religious people, big name organizations that have done so many good works, haven’t they? Do you know the difference for yourself and are you able to rightly divide the word of truth so that someday when the Lord asks you, ‘says who?’ you will know and not guess that you are one of His. Better yet, how about today eliminating the question marks in your life so that you can eliminate the guesswork; especially when it comes to eternal consequences? Oh but I just wrote out a check to this big ministry I saw on TV because a big name personality told me I would be blessed financially, a hundred times in fact, well says who!? 2 Peter 2:1-3 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2) And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. (3) And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. (KJV) Will you look at that, there is the many that has been talked about; many that are preaching these prosperity messages and getting you to buy into their version or perversion of the gospel are nothing more than a factory making the people more like merchandise than Christ like. But they showed me all the good things they were doing, and all these wonderful miracles they were performing, and how many people they were winning to the Lord; oh my, that sounds just like the people I read about in Matthew 7:21-23. Well my words are not really that important that I spoke, after all I was just joking, right, says who!? Matthew 12:36-37 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. (37) For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. (KJV) Our Lord said that the words that He spoke were spirit and life, words which He heard personally from the Father. Given the fact that He is now seated at the right hand of the Father, and is there to mediate on our behalf, would it not do you good to give ear to what He is saying and not what man keeps spewing out? Romans 14:11-12 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. (12) So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. (KJV) With all that the Lord has done on our behalf, with all that God has provided for mankind to partake of and have fellowship restored with Him, is there any excuse why when it comes time to stand before Him that when you are asked ‘says who?’ you can boldly answer, says you? God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Luke 16:13-15 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (14) And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. (15) And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. (KJV)
Is there anything more highly esteemed and sought after by mankind than the riches of this life; which many are led to believe that by someday acquiring enough of them they will find peace in their life? As we see again in verse 14, the Lord addressed and warned those that were covetous, which is just another form of idolatry. This get rich mentality has crept into the teachings of many; so in order to justify their lifestyles they become people pleasers with prosperity messages limited to the realm of the flesh that promise so much and deliver so little. No wonder our Lord was derided and chastised for teaching against these false doctrines, trying to point the people to the realm of the Spirit by forsaking the things of the flesh. Matthew 19:16-24 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? (17) And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. (18) He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, (19) Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (20) The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? (21) Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. (22) But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. (23) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. (24) And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. (KJV) Why are so many people preaching and teaching a doctrine today that can be detrimental to ones spiritual well being? No man can serve two masters; in order to grow and mature in the Lord one has to forsake the things which are highly esteemed here on earth to partake of the heavenly gift. The Lord instructed the rich man to go and sell out to this way of thinking; and rather than continue seeking the treasures of this earth become a follower of Christ and begin partaking of His spiritual treasure. If you notice to, the Lord didn’t try to get Him to donate all his riches to the Jesus Christ worldwide evangelical association, but rather distribute it to the poor. How few true teachers do we have left today who are more interested in the spiritual welfare of the congregation and not for their own personal welfare, who are willing to lay down their lives and desires for the sake of others. The eye of the needle has been described as a smaller opening in the large gates which go into the city. In those times the cites had walls surrounding them with a large gate in front that had a smaller opening just big enough for quick access into it. In order for the camel to enter in it would have to crouch down on all fours having had all the cargo it was carrying removed before it could get through. The same holds true with the believers; we humble ourselves before the Lord, and before entering into His realm we leave all the old baggage and what we thought were priorities behind us and walk in a newness of life. Anytime we try to hang onto the old and enter into the new, any excess baggage and cargo will get in the way and block ones entrance and not allow them to continue forward, which is what the rich man in the above parable was experiencing. Is there something you are hanging onto today that is keeping you stuck in the realm of the flesh and not allowing you to move forward on the path of life? That thing that has been eating at you, something you have been trying to justify before men may just be what is now an abomination in the sight of God and needs to be discarded and left behind so that you are not the one that ends up left behind and on the outside looking in. 1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (16) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. (17) And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (KJV) All these things that are so highly esteemed among mankind and highly sought after look good and sound good to our carnal senses, but make no sense to the spiritual ones. If your love and affection is more toward the world and the things of it, which are in the process of dying and passing away, then you too will end up passing away with them. It’s only those that are willing to forsake these things, take up their cross and crucify the flesh and its carnal desires, who will be allowed access into the realm of God, and who will continue in the truth grounded and settled and not moved away by cheap imitations of the devil. No man can serve two masters; double minded, unstable, and unable to move forward in their walk: like the old time prisoners which had the ball and chains attached to them to keep them bound. 1 Timothy 6:5-8 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. (6) But godliness with contentment is great gain. (7) For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. (8) And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. (KJV) While the world and its worldly preachers will tell you the importance of giving so that you can acquire more, the simple truth is in being content; content with the fact that you are a part of the kingdom of God and an inheritor of His eternal life, having forsaken the desires of this temporal one. While so many that have been called to teach and preach the things of God end up to be nothing more than cheap hucksters peddling the word of God and giving special treatment to the highest bidders, simple contentment is where one will find true peace, and the joy of the Lord. You came into this world with nothing and you have the opportunity to leave it with everything. The question is, ‘what is highly esteemed in your life today, and is there anything you are coveting after that is causing you to err and miss the mark?’ Anything other than contentment is idol worship, and it will keep one idling instead of moving forward and maturing in the Lord. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. (KJV)
Is there a pure river of living waters flowing abundantly from you, watering and bringing life to yourself and those you come in contact with? It began as a pure river; is it still pure, or has it been tainted with man-made additives that change the texture of it? Did you know that you are going to have to give account of how much of these living waters you let flow through you, and how pure it comes out from your heart? Matthew 12:36-37 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. (37) For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. (KJV) An idle word is like turning on a faucet and no water comes out; it might make some sounds from the air going through it, but it is not producing the desired results. As our physical body requires water on a daily basis, being that our bodies are made up mostly of water, your spirit man requires a daily dose as well, or it will end up dehydrated and wither away. Our tongue simply put is either bringing forth words of life or it is an unruly evil full of deadly poison, which if left unchecked will have eternal consequences. The seed within you is Christ which is spiritual, and it takes the spiritual living water of the word of God on a continual basis if it is going to grow up and mature. Matthew 4:3-4 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. (4) But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (KJV) What’s the first thing that proceeds from your mouth when confronted with situations of this life? Is it the word of God and what He is speaking, or will you give into the tempter and seek to fulfill the physical need first? Not only did the answer proceed from the mouth of God, but it flowed through our Lord and preceded from His mouth as well, providing the answer God had for that particular situation. How many times when confronted with a need, or someone comes to you with a need, do you let the word of God proceed from your mouth so that it can accomplish the thing that is pleasing to God? It is your words you will have to give account of someday, and if your words and the Lord’s are one in the same, there will be no problem, so make sure before you speak. Matthew 15:18-20 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. (19) For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: (20) These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man. (KJV) Many get caught up in the letter of the law; being more concerned with carnal washings and making the outward look good, while their inward man is dead and decaying. The word of God came from the throne pure, but somewhere downstream it got polluted, which is what the word defile means, and became unhealthy and tainted. Many lawsuits are filed on behalf of those that live downstream from factories that have tainted the rivers, and allowed pollution and poisons to proceed into the mainstream of the river, and some have caused sickness and death. Someday you to will have to stand in God’s court and give account of any additives or pollutants that you have dumped into the mainstream of your heart and of those around you. So being the fact that it left the throne of God in a pure state, He expects that it will have stayed that way when you give your own personal account before Him. If someone poisoned you or one of your children you would certainly be looking for justice; and that is exactly what will take place someday before the throne as well. So I pray that you checked the water before you turned on the faucet. Proverbs 18:7 A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul. (KJV) What you allowed into the heart is what is coming out of the mouth; so if you don’t keep a close watch on it, you may find that what was supposed to be watering the crops has been tainted, and is choking and killing the life out of yourself and those around you. Your mouth can either bind the devil or bind the Lord from working in you. Your tongue can either loose you from bondage or keep you snared in the realm of destruction. Proverbs 15:2-4 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. (3) The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. (4) A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. (KJV) Oh but it was just a little joke, I was just kidding around. That’s fine except for the fact that there is not anything the Lord doesn’t see or hear, and I am quite certain His memory is pretty good also. So someday when you go to retell your joke or try kidding with Him, you may find out the hard way that He wasn’t kidding around with you. Basically He is going to ask, what happened to my clear river of life, how did it get so tainted and polluted and what was your part in it? Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: (19) And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (KJV) If you have added your own interpretation to the word of God to make it fit with your way of thinking, just as man has added many chemicals and additives to our rivers and streams, God said He has something to give in return as well. So if you have plagued yourself and those around you with false doctrine, then you have taken away the true meaning of the Word; for which God also said He will take away your part out of the book of life. In conclusion, your words have eternal consequences, so make sure you know what you are speaking before you open your mouth. Don’t get caught up in the mainstream of popular opinions and doctrines of man, but rather go with the flow of the pure river of life, and proceed forward to your eternal reward which is rightfully yours for the taking. God bless; and it would do you good to take some time to study for yourself about the tongue, and see how many times it is referred to throughout the Bible, and how vital our words truly are. Dearly loved, have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
