Good morning. Today's video The Son - Part24 is on the topic of who the Son of God is; in Christ dwells the fullness. Ephesians 4:7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. (KJV) John 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. (KJV) In Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and we are complete in Him. Through Jesus Christ, the grace of God for mankind, received we this fullness; not of works lest any man should boast; it is a free gift. John 14:16-18 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. (KJV) John 16:13-15 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. (KJV) By the faith of Jesus Christ, through the operation of that same faith working in us, we are able to see the fullness of the gift of Christ which we have been given; because without faith it is impossible to please God, and he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). Philemon 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. (KJV) Of his fullness we have received the grace of God, his love shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which was given unto us; and peace with God, as well as his peace which he gave us to keep our hearts and minds in agreement with him, and that our hearts may not be troubled, neither afraid. If God be for us who can be against us; the veil done away in Christ so that we can go boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in the time of need. 1 Peter 1:13-16 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. (KJV) In Christ is the fullness of the fruit of the Spirit; the character of God our Father; as he said be ye holy as I am holy. We have access to God’s grace and truth which is able to make us free and keep us free, as well as make us wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (KJV) Faith enlightens the eyes of our understanding to joy unspeakable, full of mercy and good fruits, which wisdom is pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated (persuaded of), given without partiality (1 Corinthians 13:9-13), and is sincere (without hypocrisy, pretense) so that we may know the riches and fullness of the kingdom of God within us, and be known of God, for when his image appears in us we shall be like him and we shall see him as he is, and we shall be seen as his. Romans 5:1-5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. (KJV) Of God’s fullness have we received; a cup that runs over with the measure or fullness of the gift of Christ; exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think according to the power (Christ) that works in us. Knowing that it is our Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom; all he is asking of you is to lose your life for Christ’s sake and follow in his Son’s footsteps so that of his fullness which he gave in Christ, shall he give unto you; that good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over: his exceeding riches in Christ Jesus his Son, in which all the fullness of the Godhead bodily dwells, and in whom you are complete. This is the will of God; to know him, and Jesus Christ whom he sent, and to be known of Him; for this is eternal life and that life is in his Son, Christ Jesus our Lord, the fullness of him that fills all in all. Jude 1:24-25 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. You can view all previous videos by going to our YouTube channel Doctrine of Christ Ministry. Have a blessed and prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Good morning. John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. (2) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (KJV)
The Lord begins this chapter encouraging the believers not to be troubled but to continue believing. You can expect opposition as you take your place in the body of Christ, because the more grounded you become in the Lord the more of a threat you become to the enemy. You have a place prepared and ready for you to take up residence in, but there is a spiritual enemy who will do all he can to detour you and try and keep you in this fallen realm. Only the truth will set you free and allow you to carry out your heavenly calling so that you can be a true resident of the kingdom of God in Christ. Ephesians 3:9-12 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: (10) To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, (11) According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: (12) In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. (KJV) Our fellowship with God, our citizenship with Him is described as a mystery, something hidden to the carnal man but readily revealed to those in Christ. There are principalities in the heavenly realm, like with a football team, the defense is stacked up at the goal line trying to deny you access to it. This principality, or as it is described the prince of the power of the air, the devil and his angels, will do all they can to try to talk you out of your inheritance and your rightful place in the body of Christ by attempting to deny you access to His kingdom. But to those that are in Christ and have His spirit bearing witness to their spirit, they will know the truth and boldly confidently access His kingdom by letting these principalities know who they are in Christ, and that these principalities need to step aside because they are going in. The only way one can know all the spiritual blessings they have been blessed with is by entering into the kingdom of God and staying seated with Christ to hear His doctrine of love and liberty in Him. Ephesians 6:11-13 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (KJV) There is spiritual armor available to ward off spiritual resistance, so the more you keep the shield of faith up and operational the less likely you will be hit in the vitals with a fiery dart from the wicked one. Do know that there will be opposition to those that take up residency in their heavenly place, and that there are principalities and powers that will do all they can to pull you back into the realm of the flesh. Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, (39) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (KJV) Strong’s definition for ‘persuaded’: 3982 peitho (pi'-tho); a primary verb; to convince (by argument, true or false); by analogy, to pacify or conciliate (by other fair means); reflexively or passively, to assent (to evidence or authority), to rely (by inward certainty): KJV-- agree, assure, believe, have confidence, make friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield. Are you of the persuasion that nothing or no one is going to separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord? That no one or no being is going to keep you from accessing your heavenly reward? Those that know their rights and authority in Christ will continue in the faith grounded and settled and not allow themselves to be moved away or evicted from their heavenly place in Christ, but rather they will let the enemy know it is time to step aside as they go forward, and don’t let the door hit you on my way in. Luke 4:6-8 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. (7) If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. (8) And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (KJV) Jesus of Nazareth knew who He was in Christ and how to access the kingdom of God despite opposition from principalities in heavenly places. In fact He knew that God promised His people that they would be the head and not the tail, so He put the devil in his place by walking past him and leaving him behind. When you encounter persecution or obstacles the devil tries to put in your path, will you be as quick to respond in the Spirit and put him in his place as well, that being a fallen one, or will you get caught up in petty wrestling matches in the affairs of this life? The more you stay seated in the heavenly realm in Christ, hearing His message, the more you will continue to move forward in your walk with Him and not let anyone tell you different. The Lord has prepared a place for you in His kingdom, now put the distractions behind you and obtain what is rightfully yours. Revelation 12:10-11 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. (11) And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. (KJV) The enemy is like a little tattle tale, slinging mud at the believers to see if it will stick. Those that know their rights and authority in Christ will be blameless, without spot before Him. Once you have been cleansed by the washing of the water by the word of God it is imperative that you keep clean so that the mud does not stick. While accessing your place in the heavenly realm, do know there will be opposition, but do keep the persuasion and the mindset that nothing will come before your love for God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord who is seated at the right hand of the Father in the heavenly realm with a place for you right next to Him. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. (KJV)
Williams New Testament Translation of John 14:1-3 1. "Stop letting your hearts be troubled; keep on believing in God, and also in me. 2. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places; if there were not, I would have told you, for I am going away to make ready a place for you. 3. And if I go and make it ready for you, I will come back and take you to be face to face with me, so that you may always be right where I am. Many times these verses have been read and quoted as something that is going to take place after we leave this earth, but if you notice the end of verse 3 we see the statement made that where I am, there you may be also. When reading these verses we need to realize that this place that was prepared for us is available now, today. The Lord has prepared a place for us and made access so that we could come before the throne of God with our requests and hear where He would have us operate in the body of Christ. The more you stay in the realm of the Spirit the less you will be pulled back into the fallen realm of this world and its fallen ways. Williams New Testament translation of Philippians 3:20-21 20. But we are citizens of the republic in heaven, from which we are eagerly waiting for our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. 21. He will so change the outward appearance of our lowly bodies that they will be like His glorious body, by the exertion of the power He has to subject everything to Himself. Philippians 3:20-21 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: (21) Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. (KJV) The word conversation refers to citizenship, or residence; and as we see in the above verses it is something that is available now. When you meet someone from another country, or even a different part of your own, you can tell they are different by the way they talk and act, different manners and customs that distinguishes them from your own. Those that are in Christ should be distinguished and different from those of this fallen world, people that have risen to a higher standard of life by giving ear to the message delivered by Christ. Someday there will be a total transformation for the true believers in Christ, who will exchange these temporal vile bodies for a glorified one that will last for eternity, but be assured that the transformation needs to begin today by the renewing of your mind. Ephesians 2:4-6 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, (5) Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (6) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: (KJV) How are you going to hear a heavenly message being delivered by Christ unless you go personally to the source, today, right now; don’t wait for someday in the sweet bye and bye. The more you sit still and know who God is and what He is asking of you the more you will be a citizen of a heavenly place and not stuck in a fallen hell hole. The reason God sent His Son and delivered us from our death sentence is so that He could raise us up; up to a heavenly standard to live by which is pleasing in His sight. How much time do you spend quietly, first and foremost in a day to hear a personal message of faith for you so that you can walk the path the Lord chose for you to walk before the foundation of the world? You know, if you were called to a corporate meeting with the head of the company and he wanted to implement some changes and policies that would make things run smoother you wouldn’t get up in the middle of the meeting and walk out to do something else, or have a TV on in the middle of the message. When you come before the Father through Jesus Christ you have entered a heavenly place even though our physical body is still here on earth, and are now considered a resident and citizen of His kingdom, so start acting like it. Many people watch the Olympics and see how athletes represent their countries, how well trained and prepared are you to represent your heavenly kingdom? Ephesians 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: (4) According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: (5) Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, (KJV) If you were a citizen of one country and were adopted by a family into another one, you would have to learn the customs and language of the new one in order to live. The same holds true with our heavenly Father; you have been adopted into the family of God by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and now it is time to learn His word and how do those things that are pleasing in His sight. If you desire a spiritual blessing then you need to go to a spiritual source in order to obtain it; which is available right now, this moment. The peace of God; the confidence of knowing we are one of His; understanding His perfect love which casts out all fear; is priceless and eternal. While the so called blessings of this realm are temporal, short term and a temporary thrill; like watching a popular game show where people get all worked up and excited over physical prizes and things they consider blessings. So which realm are you operating in today; and what is your desire; to sit with Christ and partake of His kingdom, or are you still looking for peace and contentment in this fallen one? You know, the more you stay seated in your heavenly place that our Lord has prepared for you the less likely you will get entangled and all wrapped up with the affairs of this world. Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: (KJV) Williams New Testament translation Hebrews 9:24 24. For it was not a sanctuary made by human hands, a mere copy of the true one, that Christ entered, but it was into heaven itself that He went, in order now to appear for us in the very presence of God. Mankind has built buildings and organizations that they claim are a sanctuary, a safe haven to go and find comfort in time of need. The Lord has prepared a place for you in the heavenly realm with an open door to the Father through Christ. With all that is available to us this day, right now, why would you settle for anything less? The Lord has prepared a place of you in His body of believers so that you can partake of His heavenly gift. Now the question is, ‘are you in the right place to receive it’? God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. 2 Timothy 2:19-21 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. (20) But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. (21) If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. (KJV)
Thayer’s definition for meet: 5543 chrestos- 1) fit, fit for use, useful; virtuous, good 2) manageable a) mild, pleasant (as opp. to harsh, hard sharp, bitter) How fit and ready are you today to give God’s answer to all those you come in contact with today, whether in word or in deed? Maybe the reason you are not so ready and equipped for the Master’s use is because you have been hanging around with a bunch of vessels who claim they are of God, but in reality are useless dishonorable and unfit for use. Those that name the name of Christ and become joint participants of His kingdom will have their senses exercised to know the difference between what is of God and what isn’t; thus withdrawing themselves from any evil communications which would corrupt their good morals. The foundation of God stands sure, and so do those that are in agreement with His plan of salvation and the doctrine of Christ; while the other vessels are like wannabes and pretenders, those that don’t quite cut it and make the grade, disallowed of our Lord. If you are in a place the Lord doesn’t want you to be, or surrounded by those that are not healthy to you spiritually, then you need to purge yourself from these situations as well as any other unhealthy people that profess to know God, but in reality deny Him. Like the logo for the Marines, God is looking for those, even if it is just a few good men, to deliver His plan of salvation. And just like a soldier, someone who has training to carry out His plan, even if it means laying down their own lives for the benefit of others. Proverbs 25:11-12 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. (12) As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear. (KJV) A word fitly spoken will be by those God says are fit and ready to deliver His words of life. Gold and silver are examples of vessels that are fit for use, honorable and sanctified for the Master; while those that are unapproved are cheap imitations and not of much use. Your time and preparation in hearing the Lord and how to deliver His message is of much use to the body of Christ. As precious as ornaments of gold are to the outward, it is precious to our Lord to have a wise man of His speak a message of reproof to someone that is willing and obedient to God’s calling. So today, are you that vessel, that go to guy, that is fit and ready for use, or do you need to be benched and sent back to the practice squad? Proverbs 15:22-24 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. (23) A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! (24) The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath. (KJV) When I think of a word ‘in due season’, I think of a drink of cool water on a hot day, something very timely and fitting, delivered just at the right moment when I was getting weak and faint. Are you prepared with the living waters for a thirsty world around you, thirsting for truth in a fallen world of lies and deception? A true counselor will be prepared to give God’s answer whether in season or out of season, in other words anytime, anywhere; because now is the day of salvation and now is the accepted time for God’s people to be ready with His message of hope. What a relief it is to be able to hear the truth that sets one free from the doubt and confusion that was being hurled our way in the form of the fiery darts of the wicked one. Is your vessel one of living waters that is actively flowing forth from the heart watering a dry and thirsty world around you, or has your well run dry? Isaiah 50:4-5 The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. (5) The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. (KJV) The tongue of the learned will come from one that is prepared in the things of the Lord so that they can give His answer to speak a word in due season and bring relief to those that are wearied. Are your ears open to the truth, or are you looking to have them tickled instead? Do you seek first the kingdom of God, which is spiritual, so that you can be prepared not only for what you have need of but for those you may encounter this day? It takes practice and preparation daily, learning to hear the voice of the Lord and not that of the enemy. Knowing and not just guessing how to speak in a timely fashion, in due season, to those who are in need; presenting a clear written epistle for all to see. Neither turning away despite the reception; rather being steadfast and unmovable, delivering the message no matter what the conditions are. Just because you are not a crowd favorite with mankind doesn’t mean you are not pleasing to God. Ephesians 4:14-16 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; (15) But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: (16) From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (KJV) The Lord describes His people as a body of believers, those that have prepared themselves in the things of His spirit and have learned to speak the truth in love which causes the growth and maturity in Christ. Not only have they heard the truth, but they know enough of the truth for themselves so that they won’t be tossed around like children, but rather know how to edify themselves in the love of God. By your learning to speak the truth in love it will also cause others to grow and mature in Christ, bringing words of encouragement at a proper time, in due season as needed. Not only have you learned to grow and mature in Christ, but you are able to teach others to grow by your example, being diligent in your preparation to speak words of life. John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (KJV) Williams New Testament translation for John 6:63 63. The Spirit is what gives life; the flesh does not help at all. The truths that I have told you are spirit and life. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so is God’s ways much higher than ours. The Lord doesn’t need our help when speaking His word, and He doesn’t need mans’ help when it comes to delivering His message. In fact just the opposite is true; the more we can keep ourselves out of the way, the more fit and prepared we will be to speak His word. God’s word is living spiritual waters that bring life to those that partake and drink of it. Now the question is, ‘will you be one of His vessels fit and ready for use so that these waters can flow through you and towards His people?’ God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Proverbs 16:1-3 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD. (2) All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits. (3) Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. (KJV)
Are you absolutely positively sure the answer you are giving today, right now, is from the Lord? Have you committed yourself unto the Lord, and are you established upon the foundation of God this day, Jesus Christ being in control of everything in your walk including your tongue? The Lord has an answer for every man and He expects His people to be ready to give it anytime, and anywhere the opportunity presents itself. The question is are you prepared; have you done what is necessary today to give His response, an answer that has eternal consequences? Although mankind judges things according to the outward appearance, thus thinking He is clean, the Lord looks to the inward motives of the heart and that is what He wishes to address. Are you one of His vessels today, fit and ready for the Master’s use so that He can speak and work through you to address the spiritual needs of others, or are you like many others that have scripted answers that are more appealing to the outward man than the inward one? Someday we will all have to stand before God Himself and answer for our own lives the things we did and the things we spoke; so if the answer you give today is of our Father then you will have no need to be ashamed today, as well as the day of judgment. It’s much easier to give the Lord’s answer to mankind when it is something you have put into practice and know firsthand for yourself how it works. However, if you are just reading from someone else’s script of how they perceive the Lord, and how they think people should be witnessing to others, then you are just giving a second hand account of someone else’s experience and not your own, thus the term novice. Proverbs 19:20-21 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. (21) There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand. (KJV) Here is a reminder; how about giving a simple straight forward answer to anyone that would ask of you a reason of the hope within you and how they too can partake of this heavenly gift? Mankind keeps coming up with a bunch of gimmicks on how to win people to the Lord, when the Lord Himself said that the truth and only the truth would set them free. First and foremost you need to hear the Lord’s counsel for yourself, knowing who He is and how to be an example of the believers, not just words but conduct also. Only the counsel of the Lord will stand, and only those that receive His word will be able to stand as well; while the rest may have had good intentions in the beginning of their walk they will eventually fall away, returning to the realm they were once delivered from. I will tell you one that really stands out to me when I think of the many devices of man, is some of this so called Christian rock music, people that stoop to the lower fallen nature of mankind thinking that will win souls over. Having watched some of these so called artists, and listening to some of this nonsense on the radio, the only thing different between them and the world is that they just change a few words and then think it has the Lord’s approval. Somehow I just can’t see my Lord on a stage jumping around with a guitar in hand acting like some out of control lunatic. For those that do attempt to portray my Lord and Savior that way obviously don’t have a clue who He truly is and how He desires His kingdom to be represented here on earth. You go stand before my God someday with this song and dance and see how far you get; then try explaining to a spiritual being how something that began in the Spirit was being so misrepresented by a bunch of lame brains in the flesh. We are the ones that should be transformed and different from the world and its way of thinking; imitators of Christ and not conforming to this world and its fallen realm. Galatians 1:6-7 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: (7) Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. (KJV) These false doctrines of man, these winds of doctrines that blow around us; Paul marveled at how quickly God’s people had given in and were being deceived into some perversion of the gospel. The Bible says we should fight the good fight of faith; but how much of a fight do we put up, are we like the lion on the Wizard of Oz who made a lot of noise until someone tapped him in the snout and he gave up crying? These gospels that man claims will win the people to the Lord have nothing to do with the Lord; they are nothing more than a cheap hoax that appeals to the flesh and not the Spirit. No matter what form it manifests in, it is up to you to exercise your spiritual senses so that you can rightly discern what is of God and what isn’t. I marvel at how spiritually illiterate many people who claim to be of God really are; when the time they need to be teachers they are truly the ones that need to be taught all over from the beginning, having missed the simple first principles of God and how His kingdom truly operates. While many may read and search through the scriptures to find the answer they miss the spiritual implications and meaning of them because they still only see a man named Jesus, but never come to an understanding of who Christ within Him is and how to be led by His spirit. If any man has not the spirit of Christ and an understanding of how to operate by faith in His message, then He is not of God and will not be able to give the answer God intended for that man to give, which can only be given by those that truly know the doctrine of Christ. Proverbs 18:12-13 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility. (13) He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him. (KJV) That answer you gave to someone, was it really from the Lord, or was it something you gave to impress them? Have you taken the time to hear the message of Christ firsthand for yourself so that you know and are not just guessing that what you are speaking came from the Father through Him? If you don’t know or are not sure, then it would do you good not to say anything rather than mislead someone to another gospel that is not of our Lord. I don’t care personally what others think or say about me or my walk as long as I seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness concerning how to answer a man; then I know God is answering my prayers when I speak to Him, as well as seeking my own personal requests. Psalms 145:18-21 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. (19) He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. (20) The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy. (21) My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever. (KJV) Do you wish to be near and dear to our Lord? Then it can only be accomplished in truth, being open and honest with Him, not trying to hide things, but letting Him show you how to be an overcomer in these things so that you can speak boldly with confidence on His behalf when asked. If you call on Him in truth then you can expect an honest response in truth; however, if you try to lie then don’t expect His response. Your mouth will truly speak the praises of the Lord when you truly make Him the Lord in your life and allow Him to have His way in and through you; sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that even those that are outside the kingdom of God won’t have anything they can pin on you. John 4:23-24 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. (24) God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (KJV) You know people, worshipping God is not standing in some building with your hands in the air looking up to the ceiling like you’re in some kind of trance, or hallucinating like your having a flashback to Woodstock; rather true worship, reverence for God and His word, is done in a lifestyle that is in Spirit and according to His truth. Truly worshipping God is presenting yourself to Him as a living sacrifice, alive spiritually and dead to your own desires of the flesh; ready, willing, and able to give His answer to any that would be seeking. How fit and prepared are you to walk in the Spirit and know that you are speaking words of life, giving the only answer our Father approves of today? God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Corinthians 13:1-2 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. (2) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. (KJV)
Ever pick up an instrument when you were younger, or watch a child handle a new instrument, say a guitar or a set of drums? They will strum the guitar or beat away at the drums, which eventually gets to the point of irritation to the listener. The same holds true in the Church as well. There are people who think speaking in tongues makes them more spiritual or something, which is what Paul dealt with and spoke of in the above verses. Now to listen to someone who is trained and practiced with an instrument it can produce a sound that is familiar and easy to listen to, while the flip side can be something loud and boisterous, something or someone that gets old fast, and not pleasant to be around. If our motives for the things that we do are anything other than a pure motive of love, then we too will be nothing more than an instrument that is making sounds but nothing worth listening to. Love means that we are more interested in the edifying of someone else rather than trying to draw attention to ourselves and make ourselves seem so spiritual because we can speak in an unknown tongue. 1 Corinthians 14:7-11 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? (8) For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? (9) So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. (10) There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. (11) Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. (KJV) Again we see that when one goes to attend a fellowship of believers, whether it is a Bible study or a church service, you are going there to get built up and edified, not to put on a show. If you want to make a lot of noise and act like a child rather than go to the church service, you would be just as well served to hang out in the day care center with the other younger noise makers, who at least have an excuse. So before you get all caught up in the commotion of trying to prove yourself some spiritual giant, it would do you well to be quick to hear and slow to speak, something that bodes well with any of our daily encounters. 1 Corinthians 14:23-25 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? (24) But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: (25) And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. (KJV) I am kind of jumping around here with the scriptures, but we will get back to the point on this subject. I can tell you for myself and from what others have shared with me over the years concerning an organization they were checking out, nothing turned them off quicker, and quenched the Spirit faster, than having a bunch of childish people rattling off in tongues; because the people doing it were not using wisdom, but rather putting on an outward show. Thayer’s definition for mad: 3105 mainomai- to rave as a maniac, to be mad, to rave; used of one who so speaks that he seems not to be in his right mind Is this really the first and possibly last impression one would want to make with someone seeking truth? This would be like going to a foreign film at a theatre and not having any captions to explain the dialogue. How about if you paid to go to a concert and the person that got up on the stage didn’t have a clue how to play an instrument, wouldn’t you be dissatisfied to say the least? So how do you think the so called Christians come off when they act like a bunch of lunatics in the name of Christianity, would it be something our Lord would approve of? If you are motivated by anything other than the love of God, it doesn’t make any difference how much faith you have, or how many scriptures you can rattle off, or how much you think you are accomplishing for the Lord, it’s all for naught unless it is brought forth in love. Greater love has no man than to lay down his/her life for the brethren, fellow believers, putting their needs before your own. 1 Corinthians 12:28-31 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. (29) Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? (30) Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? (31) But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. (KJV) God has set an order in His church, which He describes as the body of Christ. If you are called to be a teacher, don’t try to be an apostle or prophet. Do you have an understanding as verse 30 refers to in the area of tongues or the interpretation of them, or are you just imitating someone else by thinking the more you can speak in tongues and the louder you are, the more others will think you are spiritual? The best gift we can covet and hold to is the gift of Christ, and everything in the above verses is a result of the manifestation of Him. So now it is a matter of learning how to operate effectively in the Spirit so that we can provide the need not only for ourselves, but be able to build up those that are seeking as well. Proverbs 15:2-4 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. (3) The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. (4) A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. (KJV) The tongue is an extension of the heart; so what is in the heart is what the mouth will speak. Before you act, before you speak something into existence, ask yourself, ‘is this something that is spiritual and will bring life to the hearers, or is it something that is confusing, and rather than lead someone closer to the Lord it will drive them away?’ So if something is not peaceable then it is not of God; and I can assure you that a lot of this mumbo jumbo stuff sounds more like a voodoo chant than something that is going to build up and edify someone. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Hebrews 13:5-6 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (6) So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (KJV)
Your conversation refers to your manner of life; so the more confident you become in your walk, the less likely you are going to lose sight of the path of life. The Lord promised He would never leave or forsake us; in fact Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday today and forever. So if you find yourself staggering around trying to find the answer, it is not the Lord that left the path, but rather it is us trying to establish some other way into His kingdom. The more you stay on the narrow path of life, the more confidence and boldness you will have because you have allowed the Lord to be your source of strength, and are not looking for something else to satisfy a spiritual need. So let’s face the facts, if you don’t become established in the faith here, knowing boldly who your helper is, you certainly are not going to be able to stand before the Father and give a bold account of your walk come the day of judgment. James 1:13-15 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: (14) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. (15) Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. (KJV) Some people actually blame God by claiming He tests people; so when something bad happens in their life, they think it is God’s way of testing them. Instead of keeping the shield of faith up and operational, they let down their guard, and get ambushed, then have the nerve to point the finger upward. God has done everything on our behalf to give us the strength and confidence to withstand this present evil world and make a way of escape for us. Why would He turn around and tempt us with something evil? Parents, would you do that to your children, take them down to a busy intersection, then see if they could cross the street on their own? Would you not do everything you could to protect them and keep them from harm? So if you are losing sight of your Father, if you are quickly forgetting what manner of man you saw in the mirror, if the confidence and boldness you once walked in is waning, remember it was not God that was drawn away, but rather a result of your own lust, which if not dealt with manifests into sin, which can lead to death, separation from God. Luke 11:11-13 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? (12) Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? (13) If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? (KJV) We are the ones with the fallen lower nature, the ones that sin and fall short of the glory of God. So when we see the illustration in verse 13 how even a fallen mankind would do what is in the best interest of their children, how much more above and beyond has our Father done on our behalf so that we could partake of His heavenly kingdom, as well giving us the Holy Spirit to keep us from evil? Sure there are persecutions and afflictions for the Word’s sake; for those that take a stand for the Lord, there will be opposition. You need to be aware of the fact that God will not use something evil to test His people anymore than you would to your own family as well. God may ask of us things that may seem impossible to the outward man, but peaceable to the inward man, which is a step of faith to those that are willing to walk with Him. With God all things are possible to him that believes, for without Him I can do nothing. Genesis 3:8-10 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. (9) And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? (10) And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. (KJV) So how do you deal with issues in your walk; are you drawn to the voice of God, or are you running and hiding from His calling? And then when you realize you are caught, when your heart starts convicting you, are you going to blame someone else like Adam did, or will you listen to the voice of truth and take an honest look in the mirror to find the answer? Back in the 70’s when I was in high school, streaking was popular. Someone would run through a crowded area unclothed and try not to get caught. Today there are a lot of spiritual streakers running to and fro, spiritually naked trying to cover their backsides as well, not wanting anyone to see their true identity. Adam realized he was spiritually naked and exposed, and that he could not hide from God. Revelation 3:16-18 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. (17) Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: (18) I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. (KJV) Ever wonder what lukewarm is? Someone who thinks they can mix and match; those that try to partake of the tree of life and dabble in the things of this life, things that are pleasant to the outward man, but an abomination to the inward. So let’s face it, we are either with Him or against Him. So time to get dressed with His robe of righteousness and return to the path of life where you belong so that you don’t end up dying of exposure to the elements of the world. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
