Good morning. Today's video The Son - Part20 is on the topic of who the Son of God is; the Son never claimed to be God. Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (KJV) Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (KJV) God cannot lie; and neither can he be tempted with evil (James 1:12-15). So how could Jesus have been God? Matthew 4:1-11 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. (KJV) Hebrews 2:16-18 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. (KJV) Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (KJV) Jesus was tempted in every manner as we are and yet he sinned not. He had a choice, just like we do, to follow the leading and guiding of the Spirit, Christ in him; and thank God he chose to follow Christ and not the lusts of the flesh. For in this he became both Lord and Christ; our high priest, our intercessor, our way, our truth, our life, our example, our Rock solid foundation, and most importantly, our Lord and Saviour. Jesus was the son of man; and the Son of God. The son of man referring to the likeness of sinful flesh; the Son of God referring to the image of God, who is Christ. Unto us a child was born (Jesus); unto us a son was given (Christ). So of these two one new man was made, Christ Jesus, our mediator. 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (KJV) The Son of God, Christ, was given in the conception of Jesus of Nazareth, the son of man, born of the seed of David according to the flesh (born of a woman); and declared the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead; and he is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. In this was Jesus anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power, Christ in him the hope of glory. This enabled Jesus to overcome the lusts of the flesh, and of which Christ condemned sin in the flesh. Jesus said “Why call me good? There is none good but one, that is God” (Mark 10:17-18). Jesus also said to search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life, but they are they which testify of me. Who? Christ in him the hope of glory. Many know him after the son of man, the fleshly man, the son of Mary and Joseph a carpenter; but few know him after the Spirit, the Son of the living God, Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Today's video The Son - Part14 is on the topic of who the Son of God is; the body is of Christ. Ephesians 4:1-7 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. (KJV) Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (KJV) There is one body, one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all; and we have been born again of His incorruptible seed, which is Christ. John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. (KJV) Think of yourself as the corn of wheat, you were born into this corruptible world, and have grown in the ground of life on earth, the cares of this life and the deceitfulness of riches entered in and the seed of life within you abided alone; hidden behind the veil of the heart which was serving the corruptible seed of Satan. But when you choose to die to this world, something miraculous happened; the seed of life, which is Christ, began to grow within you. You were born again, of the Spirit of God, and the seed of life no longer abides alone, but has the God of all creation, the husbandman, the tiller of the heart to nourish His seed in the good ground (the mind of Christ) so that it may bring forth much fruit; that being the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-24 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. (KJV) The more we die to self, crucifying the flesh with the affections and lusts, the more we will bring forth fruit unto perfection. If we sow to the flesh of the flesh shall we reap corruption; if we sow to the Spirit of the Spirit shall we reap everlasting life. Many of this life are abiding alone, without hope, the seed of life hidden; the eyes of their understanding of it blinded by the god of this world. We were once in this state of life, but now having been born again in the Spirit of the incorruptible seed of God, which is Christ, the eyes of our understanding have been enlightened so… Ephesians 1:18-23 that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. (KJV) No longer born of the corruptible seed, but of the incorruptible seed which is Christ, the pure word of God. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:11-13 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. (KJV) Watch and pray always dear brethren in Christ, that the ground (mind) of your heart remains nourished up in the Word of God, the living waters that bring forth fruit, some thirty (good), and some sixty (acceptable), and some hundredfold (perfect) in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth which is the will of God. Today's video The Son - Part11 is on the topic of who the Son of God is; the head of the body is Christ. Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Christ is the head of the body, the Church, of whom we are all members if we continue in the faith grounded and settled and be not moved away from the hope that is within us. Our life is now in Christ; so without Christ we can do nothing, just as a body without a head can do nothing. Even the Lord said that he could do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do (John 5:19); as well as, but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things (John 8:28). Notice the Lord said but as my Father hath taught me. Christ gave unto His body all that is needed to grow up into Him in all things concerning the kingdom and righteousness of God (we have the mind of Christ); and for the edifying of the body in love, for we are members one of another (Ephesians 4:11-16); and so that we would be no more children tossed to and fro carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men, cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive, instead we would become grounded and settled in the doctrine of Christ and able to discern the body (i.e. who is truly a member of the body of Christ, for you will know them by their fruit). Last He gave us warnings concerning the faith… Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (KJV) Many false prophets in religious organizations today have cut off the Son of God (Christ in you the hope of glory), and only acknowledge and teach in the name of the son of man, Jesus of Nazareth. They have cut off the head to the body of believers. The life is in God’s Son Christ, the head of the body, the power and wisdom of God. So they have created a body, powerless and headless, i.e. without the mind of Christ, the power and wisdom from above. 1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. (KJV) Christ is the true vine, God our Father is the husbandman or vinedresser, and we are the branches. If we continue to abide in the vine and produce fruit unto righteousness, the Father continues to prune us so that we will bring forth much fruit for the kingdom of Heaven and receive His fullness, therewith we are complete in Him. If we don’t continue to abide in the vine (the Head which gives spiritual nourishment to the body), the Father will cut us off, and as a branch withers so will we, and we will be without hope laid up in a heap with others who did not continue to abide in Christ; and the end of us will be worse than in the beginning for it would have been better that we had not known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and turned away. 2 Peter 2:20-21 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. (KJV) Dearly loved of God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, and of us, don’t be as the many who don’t hold the Head, Christ, as the Head of the Church; instead be as the few who do. Philippians 3:18-21 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. Have a blessed and prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. 2 Peter 1:3-8 For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue). 4. By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature. 5. For this very reason, adding your diligence [to the divine promises], employ every effort in exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution or determination, Christian energy), and in [exercising] virtue [develop] knowledge (intelligence), 6. And in [exercising] knowledge [develop] self-control (in knowing the truth there is self-control), and in [exercising] self-control [develop] steadfastness (patience, endurance), and in [exercising] steadfastness [develop] godliness (piety, commitment & obedience), 7. And in [exercising] godliness [develop] brotherly affection (laying down your life), and in [exercising] brotherly affection [develop] Christian love (Christ formed in you). 8. For as these qualities are yours and increasingly abound in you, they will keep [you] from being idle or unfruitful unto the [full, personal] knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed one). AMP
These are all attributes or characteristics of the divine nature which was formed, brought to maturity, within Jesus of Nazareth. He decreased by dying daily to the wants and desires of his fleshly nature (the nature of man) so that Christ (the attributes or characteristics of God) would increase and over take the old corrupt fleshly nature. Jesus Christ left us an example to follow: to put off the old man, and put on of the new man who is renewed in the knowledge of Him who created you, and to do this continually. As you do these things (put off the old, put on the new) the more you see who God is; you begin to understand His nature through experience in your own life in Christ; you begin to understand His love, His grace, and His mercy for us and how lovingly He provided us the way of fellowship with Him, and escape from this corrupt and dying world through Jesus Christ. As you do these things you will not be blind to the truth, the full personal knowledge of God and Jesus Christ who He sent; and you have His promise that you shall never fall. 2 Peter 1:9-12 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. (10) Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: (11) For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (12) Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. (KVJ) My beloved brethren, I pray that you will continue to make these qualities yours and let them increasingly abound in you, so that you are not idle or unfruitful in your walk but that you do come to a full personal knowledge of the truth that is in you. Exodus 25:8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. (9) According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it. (KJV)
[Let them make me a sanctuary] miqdaash (OT:4720), "a holy place," such as God might dwell in; this was that part of the tabernacle that was called the most holy place, into which the high priest entered only once a year, on the great day of atonement. [That I may dwell among them.] "This," says Mr. Ainsworth, "was the main end of all; and to this all the particulars are to be referred, and by this they are to be opened. For this sanctuary, as Solomon's temple afterward, was the place of prayer, and of the public service of God, Lev 17:4-6; Matt 21:13, and it signified the church which is the habitation of God through the Spirit, 2 Cor 6:16; Eph 2:19-22; Rev 21:2-3; and was a visible sign of God's presence and protection, Lev 26:11-12; Ezek 37:27-28; 1 Kings 6:12-13, and of his leading them to His heavenly glory. For as the high priest entered into the tabernacle, and through the veil into the most holy place where God dwelt; so Christ entered into the holy of holies, and we also enter through the veil, that is to say his flesh. See the use made of this by the apostle, Heb 9 and 10. Thus, the sanctuary is to be applied as a type: 1. To Christ's person, Heb 8:2; 9:11-12; John 2:19-21. 2. To every Christian, 1 Cor 6:19. 3. To the church, both particular, Heb 3:6; 1 Tim 3:15; and universal, Heb 10:21: and it was because of the very extensive signification of this building, that the different things concerning this sanctuary are particularly set down by Moses, and so variously applied by the prophets and by the apostles."-See Ainsworth. As the dwelling in this tabernacle was the highest proof of God's grace and mercy toward the Israelites, so it typified Christ's dwelling by faith in the hearts of believers, and thus giving them the highest and surest proof of their reconciliation to God, and of his love and favour to them; see Eph 1:22; 3:17. (from Adam Clarke's Commentary) What do you see; what do you hear in these verses? Ponder this; in the beginning, God laid out the pattern of the tabernacle and all the instruments thereof. God created us in their image and after their likeness, His pattern, His tabernacle, His instruments. Now with the fall of mankind, God covered up this pattern to protect it from the muck and mire of our fallen nature, but in His loving kindness He also made a way for us to clean up the muck and mire in our lives and have the pattern uncovered so that we could follow it according to His specifications and not man’s. Jesus Christ is the only way to see the true pattern that God intended for us to follow that would reveal a life eternal in the heavens and create a sanctuary well pleasing in His sight and fit for Him to continually dwell in. 2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (KJV) So I encourage you, today, continue to be God’s instrument of righteousness, His pattern of the tabernacle which He created in the beginning; shewing forth in your own life His grace and mercy for all mankind, that possibly, one more might seek and desire a new life in Christ, a new pattern to follow. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (KJV) Colossians 3:14 And above all things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. (KJV)
[Which is the bond of perfectness] Love to God and man is not only to cover all (1Peter 4:8, James 5:20), but also to unite and consolidate the whole (Eph 4:1-6), It is therefore represented here under the notion of a girdle (of truth Eph 6:14, 3John 1:4), by which all the rest of the clothing (Eph 6:14-17) is bound close about the body. (from Adam Clarke Commentary) If you have ever seen a pattern to make clothing there are many pieces that have to be sewn together to make the whole. Each piece is unique and needs to jointly fit together. It is like the body of Christ. Each of us is unique and only God knows which part of the body He created us to be. That is why it says that He sets us within the body as He see fit, not as we think. He created the pattern and only He knows how it needs to be put together. Out of love God created the pattern for us to follow after, that being Jesus Christ. And if we follow after the example that He left us then we are able to take His pattern of love and piece it together within us. Truth is the thread and love is the needle and when used together the pattern of a godly life in right standing with our Father in Heaven is put together one piece at a time to make us whole and complete in Christ, nothing lacking. At the same time that we are being pieced together, God is sewing us into the body of Christ where He would have us to be. The more we allow the Lord to work within us and our life (sewing us together), the more we will be able to see the pattern of love and how the body of Christ is being put together and where our Father in Heaven has placed us as well. Love is the bond of perfectness (completeness). So let this pattern of love be sewn together in you as it is in Christ Jesus and in all things shewing a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity. Titus 2:7 And above all make your own life a pattern of right conduct, having in your teaching no taint of insincerity, but a serious tone, (Weymouth translation) Titus 2:7 [In doctrine showing uncorruptness] Mixing nothing with the truth; taking nothing from it; adding nothing to it; and exhibiting it in all its connection, energy, and fullness. (Adam Clarke Commentary) In doctrine; what doctrine? The doctrine of Christ, the pure word of God manifest within each of us as we allow it to be. This is what we should be walking and abiding in at all times. Being an example of the believers in all manner of life; not only in word, but in deed and in truth. The pattern of good works is within each of us, and if we follow it we will be pure and uncorrupt in doctrine before God and man. So today, let your manner of life be in sincerity and in truth; a pattern of love and good works bound together in the doctrine of Christ which is known and read of all men. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
