Back To The Drawing Board

Williams New Testament translation of James 1:13-16:
13. No one must say, when he is tempted to do evil, "I have a temptation from God to do evil," for God cannot be tempted to do evil, and He never tempts anyone to do so. 14. But anyone is tempted to do evil when he is allured by his own evil desire and enticed by a bait. 15. Then evil desire conceives and gives birth to sin, and when sin is completed, it brings forth death. 16. You must avoid being misled, my dearly loved brothers.

James 1:13-16 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: (14) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. (15) Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. (16) Do not err, my beloved brethren. (KJV)

While mankind over the centuries has tried to blame God for their own shortcomings and faults, even some to the point of claiming God tests His people, the truth be known it is the people that do the testing and put themselves in a bad place. When one goes back to their own spiritual drawing board they will find out that the reason they were drawn away in the first place had nothing to do with God despite many teaching to that effect, thus why we are warned not to err. God does not tempt or test His people with evil, never has and never will because that would make Him a liar. That is why when we read accounts throughout the Word we need to rightly divide the truth and learn from people’s mistakes; not like many who make it look like God made a mistake by tempting people, like Job. Nothing and I mean nothing happens in the realm of God by chance or luck, but it is a sure thing to those that are willing and obedient to His word and what He promised for His people to inherit.

Isaiah 59:1-2 Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: (2) But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. (KJV)

Do you wonder why people lose confidence in their prayer life, and rather than put their hand to their mouth and listen to the answer some have the nerve to actually blame God for their own shortcomings, or lean to their own understanding like with the book of Job where many claim God randomly picked him out as an example? If there is a fracture in the relationship between man and God, be assured it was not on His end, but rather it happened here first. The Bible is consistent throughout to point out that we serve an infallible God; so if there has been a breach in the Spirit it was because you were inconsistent in your walk and hearing of His word of truth and rightly dividing it. You know it’s not like God has a history of hit or miss, good or bad days; it’s not like He got up this morning on the wrong side of the throne and was moody like we are sometimes. The point is, don’t always try to compare God to man, because man is limited; and so are you if you choose to limit yourself to just the understanding of man and not operating with the mind of Christ that we have access to.

2 Timothy 3:15-17 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (17) That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (KJV)

You know, if you spent the time in the Word like you should then you wouldn’t be caught up in these false doctrines and limited understanding of childish people who claim to know God. All scripture, all of the Word of God, is for our benefit so that we can mature or grow up and not be tossed to and fro like we were when we were younger. If this scripture is what you are putting into your heart then that is what will be flowing from it; while anything else you allow into the heart is what will be spewing out of it, and so will God spew those that don’t speak His language. So while mankind has come up with many doctrines, many so called faiths, it is up to you personally to know for yourself the doctrine of Christ, which by the way is singular; one Lord, one faith, and only one doctrine our Lord accepts as His. This doctrine will only be found in the Word, your time spent studying for yourself so that you can stand approved before God and able to rightly divide the word of truth.

Proverbs 15:28-29 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things. (29) The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous. (KJV)

If you didn’t take the time to study the Word today, what did you find that was more important? You know, you can go from righteous back to wicked; just a few nasty words you let pour out of your mouth can put you back into a realm separated from God. Thus the reason why we are encouraged to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness so that we can remain in good standing with Him and know that He hears our prayers. Some people think God plays favorites, or only approves of their denomination; but to those who are in Christ, they do not fall for man’s titles and approval, rather they are only concerned with that which is from above, His truth that sets us free.

James 4:7-8 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (8) Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (KJV)

Instead of entertaining the devil we should be resisting Him; which can only be done by remaining steadfast in the faith. If you notice it’s when we draw nigh or close to God that He does the same in return; but it is up to us to be clean before Him, which can only happen by the washing of the living waters of His word. When you decide to purify your heart, being single minded and not double minded, then the two are able to walk together again being in agreement.

Isaiah 5:18-21 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope: (19) That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it! (20) Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (21) Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! (KJV)

Where do you stand today, or should I say are you taking a stand today? There are many that call evil good and good evil because they haven’t taken the time to rightly divide the word of truth, which has drawn them away from God instead of closer. Do you know the difference for yourself of what is the doctrine of God, and what is of mankind; have you made it a priority? Are you drawing closer to God, or are you withdrawing from His realm? If you are not sure then it is time to get back to the drawing board.

Turn Up The Sound

2 Timothy 4:3-5 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (4) And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (5) But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. (KJV)

For a time will come when they will not listen to wholesome teaching, but to gratify their own evil desires will surround themselves with teachers who teach to gratify their own evil desires, because their ears are itching so to be tickled, 4. and they will cease to listen to the truth and will turn to listen to myths. 5. But you, on your part, must always keep your head cool, suffer hardship, do your work as a herald of the good news, and so fill your ministry to the brim.

Thayer’s definition for ‘sound’:

1) to be sound, to be well, to be in good health
2) metaphorically:
a) used of Christians whose opinions are free from any mixture of error
b) used of one who keeps the graces and is strong

Rather than turning up the sound, that being the voice of God, many would rather turn down the volume and in essence drown out the source of life. When one looks around especially in this country, we see so many that are not in good health, but rather they are out of shape and weak. Spiritually the same holds true; though the spirit is willing it’s the flesh that is weak and so are those that choose to stay in that realm rather than stepping out into the realm where our Lord operates, that being the spiritual one. Oh but it is the fastest growing church in the area because they have learned how to reach out to those in the community and draw them in. Instead of drawing the people closer to God which can only be done with truth, many use gimmicks, worldly methods with worldly preachers who tell people what they want to hear and not what they truly need to hear. Case in point; though our Lord had a following for a season, when it came down to dieing to self and dealing with sound doctrine many chose a different path.

Titus 2:6-8 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. (7) In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, (8) Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. (KJV)

You will not and cannot have sound speech unless you are giving ear to sound doctrine, which can only come from the source Himself. With what measure you mete or allow, is what is measured back your way; so the more you turn up the volume, that being your spiritual ears, the stronger you will become in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Thus the term ‘young men’; not a child or childish people who listen to childish doctrine because it makes them feel good. You know, you can eat a lot of candy and get a sugar rush that feels good, like a child who isn’t concerned about their health or the consequences of their actions, but if one desires to mature and grow up in the Lord it will take more of the meat of the word of God in order to accomplish this. Sound doctrine is not always fun to hear, or even easy to endure at times, but afterwards it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those that keep their spiritual senses exercised to discern between good and evil. You wonder why your body is out of shape and you are weak? It’s because you did what you wanted to and not what you needed in order to keep it maintained. You wonder why you are weak and unable to stand spiritually? Well, it’s because rather than give ear to sound doctrine you chose someone that would tickle your ears rather than build you up.

John 6:63-66 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (64) But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. (65) And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. (66) From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. (KJV)

You know, our Lord Himself delivered sound doctrine, pointing the people to the spiritual realm and away from the flesh and its fallen nature. I know of no one that delivered a more sound doctrine, as well as demonstrating what it is truly like to walk the walk; and yet with that in mind it says many went back and walked no more with Him. Just where do you think the many went? Well, there were plenty of ear tickling people pleasers back then as there are today; so rather than continue in their search for truth they chose a different path, you know that easy fun one where all the people are hanging out. Even today when someone holds fast to sound doctrine and denounces things that are unhealthy (like we spoke about yesterday; how people think it is ok to live together before marriage), or doesn’t agree with homosexuality or alternative lifestyles as some put it (which the only alternative they will end up with is hell instead of heaven because they held to the flesh which is weak and not to the Spirit which would make them strong and able to overcome what God says is an abomination), that which their life ministers or they preach is termed old fashioned or out of touch.

2 Timothy 1:7-8 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (8) Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; (KJV)

You are not going to have a sound mind unless you give ear to sound doctrine. That spirit of fear that is tormenting you did not come from God, but obviously the enemy was given a clear shot at the heart that should have been protected by the shield of faith; you know, the one that is established by hearing, hearing the word of God and not man’s versions. You know that fun guy that tickled your ear last Sunday and told you everything you wanted to hear, he won’t be around on Monday when it comes time to take a stand for the Lord and the afflictions that come with being one of His. Kind of like that slick used car salesman that gave you a line about the car he just sold you the other day, you know, the one that would now be described as a lemon. Well that guy is long gone, laughing all the way to the bank, standing in line right behind the preacher that sold you a lemon of a doctrine also.

2 Timothy 1:13-14 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. (14) That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us. (KJV)

The spirit is willing, the flesh is weak and so are those that don’t get built up in the word of God and stay built up. A perfect mature love will cast out all fear, because you are more willing to give ear to the Holy Ghost, looking within to find that strength and peace. Turn up the sound, because the more you give ear and practice sound doctrine the more sound you will be in your walk.

Abortion Clinic

Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (28) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (KJV)

You know, of all the things God has asked of mankind here is the one thing they have done, and that is being fruitful and replenishing this earth. In fact they have become so fruitful that in the last 30 years or so they have erected clinics to undo some of this fruitfulness, which has drawn much protest and interest from those that truly realize the ramifications of these practices. For those that have the eyes of their understanding opened and enlightened to the realm of the Spirit they see that these verses have a deeper meaning; so while mankind thinks bearing more offspring is being fruitful, the Lord is asking His people to be more fruitful, in other words bearing the fruit of the Spirit. So while people are protesting abortions that take place in the carnal realm, how many are taking place in the spiritual realm, the unseen realm of man but totally visible to our Lord? While mankind considers abortion the ultimate crime against humanity because it takes the life of a young baby, how many realize the new life that has begun in the believers, and how the spiritual thief has been allowed to perform spiritual abortions on many new born babes in Christ? And how few even realize this practice is taking place right in front of them?

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJV)

You know, a new life has begun in you, the believer in Christ, who has asked the Lord to take up residence within you. Be aware though, there is a spiritual thief, one that tries to steal the truth from the believer, which kills the new life that has begun in them and results in their soul being destroyed forever by being separated from God for eternity. Sometimes this thief comes in the form of a minister who claims to be of God but in reality is ministering a lethal dose of false doctrine; like with a poison it may be undetectable to the senses but lethal enough to result in death. Similar to the protesters which parade around abortion clinics and endure persecution, the same holds true spiritually for those that walk in truth and expose these deadly practices.

James 4:2-5 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. (3) Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. (4) Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (5) Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? (KJV)

You lust; you kill; so what is being killed? Well how about that new life in Christ you promised Him and how you said you would walk in truth? Instead of desiring the things of the Spirit you continue your pursuit of things of this life, you know like being lukewarm. Instead of fighting the good fight of faith keeping your body in subjection to the Spirit you are fighting and fussing over things of this temporal realm, which ends up drowning out the voice of God which you made a vow to follow. Some of these places you call a church, are nothing more than a cheap disguise for an abortion clinic, one that promises liberty but the results are deadly. You know as a Christian you would never lend your support to a clinic that aborts a baby in the flesh, yet how many are supporting spiritual abortions and don’t even realize it because of their lack of diligence in the word of God?

Mark 4:18-20 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, (19) And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. (20) And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. (KJV)

When you choke the Word, similar to what was written in the book of Hebrews, you are crucifying the Son of God all over again, putting Him to an open shame. If you notice in verse 19, that instead of being fruitful, keep in mind Church the fruit of the Spirit, it has now become unfruitful, barren and dead. What was once impregnated with a new life and should have been brought to term ended up terminated instead, and so will those that allow their own desires to have precedence over the things of the Spirit. Are you growing daily in the word of God and feeding your spirit man, that new life within, or have you terminated it and have decided it was a mistake?

Galatians 2:20-21 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (21) I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. (KJV)

Is Christ alive and well within you, growing and maturing so that you can grow up into Him? Are you aware that God’s plan of salvation is one of grace and not by our works, especially the works of the old law, the letter of the law that kills rather than brings life? Did you ever stop and think that by coming into agreement with those that still hold to the old law and its dead rituals you are actually killing rather than bringing life to the believer? Do you want to actually go before God and tell Him that the sacrifice of His Son was done in vain, that you chose not to accept it? Like with many young people that get talked into aborting their pregnancies; it’s not until afterward that the true reality of what happened hits them in the form of guilt and sorrow. Don’t be one of those who allow the enemy to distort the truth and talk you out of God’s plan of salvation, aborting a new life and spending an eternity of guilt and sorrow when it comes time to deal with the reality of your decision.

2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. (KJV)

Be aware people, the Bible warns us about the many false prophets that promise liberty but in reality are the servants of corruption. Just like with the doctors and counselors that promise liberty to those that abort a child, what they said would bring freedom and peace to the mother actually results in a criminal act that has long lasting consequences. Those that promise liberty and peace to the believers in Christ and still hold to the letter of the old law, in essence kill the true meaning of the doctrine of Christ which was meant to bring life and not death, and will have eternal consequences as well. What are you lending your support to today; and is it based on truth, the only thing that sets one free and allows you to continue walking the path of life? Do you know the doctrine of Christ that will bring life to the believer? Because quite simply put, anything else is an abortion. Being the fact that the spiritual is greater than the physical you definitely do not want to be lending your support to these practices.

In conclusion today; people abort what they call unwanted pregnancies because they decide it is too much of a burden and will interfere with their own desires. In reading the verses from today’s study we see the same holds true in the spiritual realm also. Be fruitful.

Dead Man Talking

Luke 16:19-21 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: (20) And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, (21) And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. (KJV)

Did you ever wonder what kind of interview some well known famous people would give after their death, even some big name preachers who looked so good on the outside, but inwardly they were empty? Do you think the message they would deliver would be the same as the one they gave here on earth, or do you think they would like to have another crack at it, maybe this time with some truth added to the mix? The above example reminds me of many of today’s so called churches and even politicians, who live high off the hog and the backs of other people then leave them with crumbs, or in the case of the preachers, crummy doctrines of man. Oh they look so good on the outward, but inwardly they are empty and dead, so instead of feeding the flock of God they end up fleecing it.

Luke 16:22-24 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; (23) And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. (24) And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. (KJV)

So being rich and famous isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be is it? If famous news organizations could go and interview people after their death I am sure it would be quite an exclusive interview, let alone a change in the message they used to deliver. But then that is not going to happen; the enemy isn’t going to expose himself or the consequences because that would get the people’s attention pointed in the direction of the truth. So for the believers in Christ, we have the word of God to rely on, and it is vital that we get to know this Word so that we don’t end up in a hell of a predicament.

James 2:1-5 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. (2) For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; (3) And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: (4) Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? (5) Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? (KJV)

Just because you are not rich and famous in the outward doesn’t mean you can’t be rich on the inside does it? Nor does it mean you are doing anything wrong if your focus and attention is more on eternal things and not on the temporal things. Talk about idiotic, have you ever noticed some of these big name ministries on TV that do their telethons and offer more perks and privileges to the people that can give the most and basically discard all others, including some that may be poor? Does that sound like something our Lord approves of, especially when He has had His people write letters to the Church warning and forbidding these abominations? Yet with this in mind, how do godly people still get duped and support this junk; you know like if you don’t take a stand with the Lord then you will fall for anything; or another way of putting it is, a fool and his money are soon parted.

Luke 16:25-26 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. (26) And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. (KJV)

Do you recall what the root of all evil is? As we see in the above verses a love for God was drowned out by a love of money; so what may have started out as a servant to the people ended up worshipping and serving mammon instead; the end result was a place where one can’t buy their way out of.

Philippians 2:3-4 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. (4) Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. (KJV)

Are you looking out for others, your brethren in Christ, or are you looking to make another score using others for your own advantage sake? There will be consequences, not only for those that initiate these practices but also for those that support them in their folly.

Luke 16:26-31 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. (27) Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: (28) For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. (29) Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. (30) And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. (31) And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. (KJV)

You know, someone has risen from the dead; in fact He is the author and finisher of our faith who gave us the word of God so that we could avoid the pitfall we see in the above verses. Have you given ear to the word of God today, or are you following some deadbeat that is more concerned with their things and not the things that edify? While many think that they need to go witnessing to others in order for them to be saved, the truth is they need to hear how to present the word of God effectively so that it points the people more toward the Lord and not man and his own creations of what he claims is a church.

Romans 10:9-11 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (11) For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. (KJV)

There is a man who was dead and now lives, who is seated at the right hand of our Father, ready to deliver a personal message of faith to any and all that would call upon His name, that being Jesus Christ. Are you taking the time to hear His message so that you can be delivered from destruction, or are you following some dead man talking but not really walking?

Spirit and Life

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (KJV)

Our Lord came so that we could have life and have it more abundantly. What our Lord considers abundance is far from what man thinks is an abundant life, a life only found in the realm of the Spirit. Words which are spiritual and brought life and enlightenment to the believers were spoken by our Lord, and He is still speaking to those that have ears to hear, seeking to hear the spiritual meaning and intention of the scriptures where this new life is found. There is a whole new realm of unending joy and peace, enlightening the heart and bringing life to those that find the true meaning of what our Lord is speaking to them about, and why He spoke the things He did. Have you found this life for yourself? Here’s a hint, you won’t find it in the old law, but rather by hearing the law of faith, one that will build you up and bring life to those that were once dead spiritually.

2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. (KJV)

In order for you to be an able minister of our Lord you have to take the time to let the Lord minister unto you personally. Those that are chosen by our Lord to speak and teach on His behalf are those that are operating in the new life which is in the spiritual realm, and not according to the old laws and rituals. Those that hold to the literal meaning of the word of God miss the mark and kill the true interpretation of the message of Christ. You won’t find life in a graveyard or a morgue, nor will you find it in the letter of the old law and its rituals. In fact our Lord said that He is a God of the living and not the dead. So anyone that continues to hold onto the old law will not find the life God intended for them. When one takes the time to rightly divide the word of truth and hear God’s spiritual meaning of His word then it quickens or gives life to their inward man, while our flesh and its way of thinking darkens the true meaning of the message. Many think they can please a spiritual God with carnal ordinances, and they fall short of what our Lord intended for His people. Your ability to be an effective example of the believers, whether in word or in deed, will only be accomplished as you learn to speak words that will bring spiritual meaning and life to those around you. Out of your belly or the heart should be a river of living waters pouring out and bringing life; while many others are raining bitter waters of the letter of the law which kills any new growth.

Romans 7:1-3 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? (2) For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. (3) So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. (KJV)

Another way of describing the letter of the law and its ordinances is like a woman with a husband, who is bound by an oath and commitment to that husband as long as he is alive. Once that husband has died, then she is released from that law and allowed to remarry. The death of the husband released her from that old law so that she could partake of a new life, making a commitment to a new man.

Romans 7:4-6 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. (5) For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. (6) But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. (KJV)

When one becomes married they commit their life to that person and the two now become one. Someday there will be a culmination of the marriage between Christ and the Church. So for now while we are on this earth we need to honor our commitment in spirit and in truth if we wish to be true worshippers of our Lord. If you desire to do those things that are pleasing in the sight of our Lord then it can only be accomplished by those that worship or reverence Him in Spirit, walking in this realm and by the truth that sets us free to do so. The children of Israel were delivered from a terrible bondage, only at times to doubt the Lord and wish to return back to Egypt. In essence many Christians do the same thing. They are delivered from the law only to return back to it to find life, like looking for the living in a morgue. Why do people still keep hanging onto things that held them back and kept them separated from God rather than letting go so that they can walk in a newness of life? How many times have you seen people that were stuck in a relationship or situation with an overbearing person and your only thought is why don’t they just leave? How it must hurt our Father to watch His people still in bondage to dead things when He sent His Son and made a way of escape for them. The Lord provided our deliverance, a path that is located in the realm of the Spirit, and only those that hear His words of Spirit and life will find that path and walk out of Egypt.

Romans 8:2-4 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (3) For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: (4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (KJV)

You have a clear path, a way of escape, a new law that trumps the old one and brings life to those that find it. A new law of faith is in Christ Jesus bringing a spiritual enlightenment so that you can see God’s true intention for you personally, not what He required for those under the old law. The flesh profits nothing and is no help in our walk, so quit following that path and get on the spiritual path that brings life.

Romans 8:4-8 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. (6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (KJV)

It’s a crime and a shame to see what God provided for His people only to see them revert back to their old ways and thinking. All the evidence is provided for each and every believer in Christ, and it all points to the Spiritual realm and not the fallen fleshly one. Where are you walking today, and what path are you following? Is it one of escape, or are you walking backwards toward a graveyard? There is a God who is bringing His people words that are Spirit and that are life; a new life in Christ which each and every believer should be partaking of on a daily basis. Get out of the old and get into the new.
