Good morning. This week's video Born Again is on the topic of the difference between flesh and Spirit. You are born again; you have the mind of Christ and can now see things from the eyes of His understanding to discern what is of the flesh and what is of the Spirit. Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (28) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (KJV)
You know, of all the things God has asked of mankind here is the one thing they have done, and that is being fruitful and replenishing this earth. In fact they have become so fruitful that in the last 30 years or so they have erected clinics to undo some of this fruitfulness, which has drawn much protest and interest from those that truly realize the ramifications of these practices. For those that have the eyes of their understanding opened and enlightened to the realm of the Spirit they see that these verses have a deeper meaning; so while mankind thinks bearing more offspring is being fruitful, the Lord is asking His people to be more fruitful, in other words bearing the fruit of the Spirit. So while people are protesting abortions that take place in the carnal realm, how many are taking place in the spiritual realm, the unseen realm of man but totally visible to our Lord? While mankind considers abortion the ultimate crime against humanity because it takes the life of a young baby, how many realize the new life that has begun in the believers, and how the spiritual thief has been allowed to perform spiritual abortions on many new born babes in Christ? And how few even realize this practice is taking place right in front of them? John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJV) You know, a new life has begun in you, the believer in Christ, who has asked the Lord to take up residence within you. Be aware though, there is a spiritual thief, one that tries to steal the truth from the believer, which kills the new life that has begun in them and results in their soul being destroyed forever by being separated from God for eternity. Sometimes this thief comes in the form of a minister who claims to be of God but in reality is ministering a lethal dose of false doctrine; like with a poison it may be undetectable to the senses but lethal enough to result in death. Similar to the protesters which parade around abortion clinics and endure persecution, the same holds true spiritually for those that walk in truth and expose these deadly practices. James 4:2-5 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. (3) Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. (4) Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (5) Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? (KJV) You lust; you kill; so what is being killed? Well how about that new life in Christ you promised Him and how you said you would walk in truth? Instead of desiring the things of the Spirit you continue your pursuit of things of this life, you know like being lukewarm. Instead of fighting the good fight of faith keeping your body in subjection to the Spirit you are fighting and fussing over things of this temporal realm, which ends up drowning out the voice of God which you made a vow to follow. Some of these places you call a church, are nothing more than a cheap disguise for an abortion clinic, one that promises liberty but the results are deadly. You know as a Christian you would never lend your support to a clinic that aborts a baby in the flesh, yet how many are supporting spiritual abortions and don’t even realize it because of their lack of diligence in the word of God? Mark 4:18-20 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, (19) And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. (20) And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. (KJV) When you choke the Word, similar to what was written in the book of Hebrews, you are crucifying the Son of God all over again, putting Him to an open shame. If you notice in verse 19, that instead of being fruitful, keep in mind Church the fruit of the Spirit, it has now become unfruitful, barren and dead. What was once impregnated with a new life and should have been brought to term ended up terminated instead, and so will those that allow their own desires to have precedence over the things of the Spirit. Are you growing daily in the word of God and feeding your spirit man, that new life within, or have you terminated it and have decided it was a mistake? Galatians 2:20-21 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (21) I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. (KJV) Is Christ alive and well within you, growing and maturing so that you can grow up into Him? Are you aware that God’s plan of salvation is one of grace and not by our works, especially the works of the old law, the letter of the law that kills rather than brings life? Did you ever stop and think that by coming into agreement with those that still hold to the old law and its dead rituals you are actually killing rather than bringing life to the believer? Do you want to actually go before God and tell Him that the sacrifice of His Son was done in vain, that you chose not to accept it? Like with many young people that get talked into aborting their pregnancies; it’s not until afterward that the true reality of what happened hits them in the form of guilt and sorrow. Don’t be one of those who allow the enemy to distort the truth and talk you out of God’s plan of salvation, aborting a new life and spending an eternity of guilt and sorrow when it comes time to deal with the reality of your decision. 2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. (KJV) Be aware people, the Bible warns us about the many false prophets that promise liberty but in reality are the servants of corruption. Just like with the doctors and counselors that promise liberty to those that abort a child, what they said would bring freedom and peace to the mother actually results in a criminal act that has long lasting consequences. Those that promise liberty and peace to the believers in Christ and still hold to the letter of the old law, in essence kill the true meaning of the doctrine of Christ which was meant to bring life and not death, and will have eternal consequences as well. What are you lending your support to today; and is it based on truth, the only thing that sets one free and allows you to continue walking the path of life? Do you know the doctrine of Christ that will bring life to the believer? Because quite simply put, anything else is an abortion. Being the fact that the spiritual is greater than the physical you definitely do not want to be lending your support to these practices. In conclusion today; people abort what they call unwanted pregnancies because they decide it is too much of a burden and will interfere with their own desires. In reading the verses from today’s study we see the same holds true in the spiritual realm also. Be fruitful. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 3:3-7 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (4) Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? (5) Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (7) Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (KJV)
Light the candles, break out the cake, let’s all gather around and celebrate an occasion that’s only half right and only half the equation, that being the physical birth into the realm of the flesh. While it is a blessing to be born into this realm healthy, it is the second birth or rebirth that is so much more vital yet so overlooked. Now that you have arrived and have been a part of this physical realm, unless you are reborn into the realm of the Spirit you cannot see or give an accurate account of what is happening in that realm. Happiness is an emotion, one based on happenings, while the joy of the Lord is our strength, one that will only be found in the realm of the Spirit. Once one is born again, which the Bible says all heaven rejoices when one sinner repents, talk about a party with your spiritual candle being lit so that you can see the path of life and walk in the love, joy, and peace of God, as well as receiving the gift of life which is eternal. With that in mind which realm are you operating in today and which birth has priority in your life, the physical or the spiritual? 1 Corinthians 2:9-12 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (10) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. (11) For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. (12) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. (KJV) The Lord has set a table for you and provided a spiritual meal as well to celebrate your new birth into the realm of the Spirit. Keep in mind though, that this only takes place in the realm of the Spirit, a realm our Lord operates in and desires for you too as well. Unless you are able to see clearly for yourself the things of God, how could you ever give an accurate account of what is taking place, and what God has done to provide salvation and a new birth for you? While many are so caught up with physical traditions and doctrines of man, being half right does not make you all right, but rather leaves you on the outside trying to see through a veil. Just like these people that get saved and then think it is their duty to witness to the cults, or what they perceive as cults, by reading other peoples scripts on how to handle these situations. Talk about dumb and dumber; unless you can see and know for yourself what the word of God truly says and means you have no reason engaging in these endless strivings and contentions that pull you down rather than build you up. Just like when you were born and had parents that celebrated your arrival into this realm, you have a spiritual Father in heaven that wishes to give you of His kingdom by opening your eyes to His truth so that you can walk in the liberty of Christ. So while many observe days, and months, times and seasons, some in the form of birthdays, keep in mind that there needs to be a rebirth day if one really wishes to have something to celebrate. And you parents that are quick to run out and buy gifts to please the child, have you given them the greatest gift and presented them with the eternal gift of life available in Christ, or are you just focusing on temporal things that never last? Every year when a certain date comes along you are quick to remind, and I am sure you are reminded by the child that their birthday is soon, but are you as quick to remind them as well as yourself how important it is that they partake of the new birth in order to receive the gift of life? Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV) You know these children you claim to love and want nothing but the best for them, are you showing them the things of God and the importance of His gift, or are you more concerned with putting on a good party? As a parent you warn your child of the many dangers in the physical realm, but do you teach them the consequences of the spiritual one, you know that realm that lasts for eternity and not this temporal one? Yet with this in mind, if I was to ask you honestly which one gets the most attention I would be willing to say that most of the focus was on cake and ice cream, and not spirit and life. Next time you decide to gather around and start singing happy birthday ask yourself if there will really be a celebration of birth, a rebirth into the realm of God to see all that He has provided for His people. The gift you give and focus your attention on, is it really the gift of God which leads us to eternal life, or is it on the temporal, keeping the attention and focus limited to the carnal fallen realm of mankind? 1 Peter 1:22-25 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: (23) Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. (24) For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: (25) But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. (KJV) With our lives being described in the book of James as being a mist or a vapor that appears for a short time then vanishes, as well as a flower that blossoms for a short time and then withers way, which realm are you looking at today to keep yourself pure? Again we see the word purified, which refers to being free from carnality, believing the pure word of God which allows us to see His true meaning and intent for our lives. With a life in the flesh so short lived and yet so useless in its way of thinking, why do so many still point more to the physical realm than the spiritual? You see for yourself how in order to be purified it takes living spiritual waters to cleanse the soul and keep it pure from manmade additives and doctrines. So with this in mind, next time certain dates come along and you are reminded of certain births, which one will you be pointing yourself as well as others to; something temporal or eternal? God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Timothy 6:6-8 But godliness with contentment is great gain. (7) For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. (8) And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. (KJV)
Remember what you brought with you when you arrived into this world? If you are not sure you can try to ask someone that was there when you were born, or you could spend some time around the maternity ward to see what is brought into this realm by newborns. According to the word of God there will be no carry-on luggage, which includes your departure from this world also. So with this in mind, what is it you were fussing and fretting about today; was it really something that involved your spiritual life, or are you still consumed and being eaten alive with the cares of this life? Sound silly, to simple, well believe it or not that is the part most people miss and stumble over, the simplicity of the gospel. According to God’s itinerary, the same things you arrived into this world with are also what you will depart with in the end. The question is will you be bringing something spiritual with you on your way out? In other words we came into this world with nothing, but we have the opportunity to leave with everything, the catch is that it has nothing to do with this world. I use the phrase catch, because I still see so many who claim they are one of the Lord’s who say they are totally committed to Him only to see them still caught up and snared with the things of this world, which are drowning them in destruction and despair. Have you learned to truly be content, or will you be content some day when you get everything you think you need or desire? After all you may not think having food and raiment is such a big deal, and are more interested in other things. So let me point this fact out, just try going a day, a few days, or even a week without food and raiment, and then let’s see if it is not such a big deal. Suddenly everything you have taken for granted and overlooked is now more appreciated, with a few thank-you’s added in for good measure. 1 Timothy 6:9-10 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. (10) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (KJV) Talk about going off the deep end, how would you feel if you had just pulled a drowning person out of the water only to see them jump back in again? God’s plan of salvation is to deliver His people from this present evil world, which we see in the verses above is described as being the love of money, only to see them turn around and jump right back into the cesspool of this fallen world again. Now stop and think how you would feel if that person you saw jumping back into water and drowning again was one of your own children? How quickly mankind jumps ship; the only problem is the ship they jump into has some major holes in its doctrines and is ready to go under. Will you stay afloat and rise above the cares and concerns of this world, or will you end up going deep sea diving for fool’s gold and miss your lifeboat when it comes by? Matthew 6:23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! (KJV) God’s plan of salvation is a way of escape, an escape from this present evil world into a realm of the righteousness of God. How is one ever going to find this path of life, let alone ever stay on it, unless they make it a priority in their walk? A spiritual path requires a spiritual light, and without the true light shining in their heart it will be replaced with a false one. Matthew 6:19-24 The lamp of the body, that which receives and dispenses the light, is the eye. If the eye, used here figuratively for one's spiritual understanding, be single (opposite of "twofold"), not afflicted with double vision in this matter of treasures —an affliction which is evil —then the individual can regard riches in their proper perspective. The impossibility of serving two masters in a slave relationship is a graphic illustration. Mammon. Though its derivation is uncertain, it appears to be an Aramaic word for wealth, here personified. Note that Jesus condemns not wealth but enslavement to wealth. (from Wycliffe Commentary) Many are called, but few are truly chosen by our Lord because many a well-intentioned Christians have replaced their love for the Lord with another love. So like with a cheating spouse in a marriage relationship, or drinking and driving, eventually there is going to be a heck of a wreck. Some of these piercings and sorrows you are experiencing have been a result of your shield of faith, or lack of it, which is allowing the enemy to have a clear shot at the heart with his fiery darts, starting a fire in a place that has dried out because of a lack of living waters. Matthew 6:31-34 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (32) (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. (33) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (34) Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (KJV) The point of this week’s studies is a reminder of the simplicity of the gospel and how important it is to learn to be content. Yes we are in this world, and there are needs that have to be dealt with, both spiritual and physical, the point is getting and keeping your priority right so the things of this life don’t become too big of a distraction. God promises His people He will supply all their need, and as a parent you would never forget your children, so what makes you think God does His? The Bible is specific in how we are to access God and get the provisions needed, which first and foremost it needs to be spiritual, thus why many miss the mark, getting it backwards, or the cart before the horse. Your message for today is to keep in mind that your arrival and departure are similar in the fact that you came here with nothing and will depart with the same luggage as well. So with this in mind why are you so concerned with things you can’t take with you, instead of with something that you can, that being eternal salvation? John 19:23-24 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. (24) They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did. (KJV) This man that is described for us in the above verses is now seated at the right hand of God; and as we see He didn’t leave much behind when He left, at least not in the physical realm. Jesus Christ didn’t entangle Himself with the affairs of this life, which allowed Him to partake of the new life, the one that lasts for eternity. Now it’s your turn, what do you truly treasure, and where is it leading you today? God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:5-8 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: (6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. (7) For he that is dead is freed from sin. (8) Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: (KJV)
As we see in the above verses, although our Lord was crucified on the cross at Calvary it didn’t end there, but rather there is a continual crucifixion that has to take place in each and every believer if they to wish to partake of a new life in Christ. Do you know for a fact that your old fallen nature is crucified and being kept in subjection to the Spirit, or are you running from the truth and looking for an alternate way out? You wonder why at times that it seems hard to believe in the word of God more than what the outward circumstances are dictating, most likely it is because you haven’t died to self, but rather you spend more time feeding the flesh than the Spirit. Our Lord went to a cross at Calvary so that He could die and a new man could resurrect. We too are constantly dying on a daily basis so that a new man can resurrect and live a life dictated by the Spirit and not the flesh and its lethal desires. If you notice in the above verses, 6&8, you see words like, is crucified, and now if we be dead with Christ. Many teach a one and done theory, that all you have to do is show up at some organization, do some ritual or recite some sinners prayer and your ticket is stamped; but be assured nothing could be farther from the truth; and this once saved always saved is a doctrine the devil enjoys seeing taught. Your commitment to our Lord is just the beginning, so the fact that God sent His Son to do a complete work on our behalf and give us a perfect example He expects nothing short of a whole hearted commitment as well if you wish to obtain your inheritance, which simply put means, walk not just talk. Galatians 2:17-20 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. (18) For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. (19) For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. (20) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (KJV) Paul didn’t make the statement I was, or I am thinking about this crucifixion stuff, but rather it is something that he continued in to the end. The devil made me do it or blaming others for your lack of diligence in the word of God is not an excuse for sin, and don’t think for one moment that you would be the first person to ever accept the Lord and walk with Him for a season only to end up walking away and falling back into sin. Thus the reason why God had Paul write words of encouragement concerning baptism and crucifixion so that God’s people wouldn’t fall back into the old ways but continue to walk in the Spirit realm. No one said it was going to be an easy path that leads to eternal life, however there is only one that will get you there and it is the same one our Lord walked, even that stuff that happened at Calvary. As a Christian, in order to maintain a healthy walk with the Lord you will have to take up your own cross on a daily basis if you truly wish to move forward in your walk. Otherwise you will end up sitting at the garden of Gethsemane sweating drops of blood and dreading the outcome. Please keep in mind that although there was a death it was followed by a glorious resurrection; so know too for yourself that even though the Lord is asking us to nail something to the cross, afterward there is also a glorious resurrection of a new found life in Christ. Once you put your hand to the plow the enemy will do all he can to keep you from looking forward to the new life the Lord has for you, but rather he will try to keep you stuck in the old realm drinking the old whine. Be sure that if the Lord is asking you to walk away from something, focus more on what He is asking you to walk into knowing that it is for your benefit, one that will draw you closer to Him. Galatians 6:12-15 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. (13) For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. (14) But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. (15) For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. (KJV) Williams New Testament translation for Galatians 6:12-13 12. These men who are trying to force you to let yourselves be circumcised simply want to make a fine outward show, only to keep you from being persecuted for the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. 13. Indeed, the very men who let themselves be circumcised do not themselves observe the law. But they simply want you to let yourselves be circumcised, so that they can boast of you as members of their party. Did you ever stop and think why people still hold to rituals, works of the law? Most of it is just some big show. Like a circus, they use the people so that they can boast of big numbers; really, like that is going to impress God. Quite the opposite is true people; Paul realized that in order to please a Spiritual being he could no longer be a people pleaser, one that was seeking approval from the world and its worldly preachers. Worldly people seek recognition of other worldly people and base their results on outward things and not inward. Whether it manifests in the form of circumcision, water baptism, or some other dead end ritual it’s all for naught and avails nothing. The only thing important to God is that new creation within, something you should be concerned with as well. While many people flock to a circus to see some death defying act, or to get entertained, many of these so called traveling evangelists and preachers are nothing more than a circus act. Back in the day when a man named P.T. Barnum started the circus he realized that the acts, tricks, and illusions would bring in thousands of people as well as thousands of dollars. He also made the statement concerning the flocks of people ‘that a sucker is born every day’. As I look around at what man calls preachers and teachers and so called sound doctrine, I too see ‘that suckers are born again every day’ because of their lack of diligence and knowledge in the word of God; and the fact that they don’t take a stand for the Lord, and they end up falling for any cheap trick and illusion of the devil seeking more to be entertained than built up in the truth. A crucifixion took place at Calvary some two thousand years ago to pay the price for mankind and allow you access into the realm of the Spirit. It didn’t end there people, but is a symbol, a likeness or representation of something that should be continuing in each and every believer so that they can continue their walk in the Spirit no longer feeding and nurturing the old fallen man. A new day has come, now go walk in it. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. (28) Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. (KJV)
Back in the Lord’s short time here on this earth people were looking for a Messiah to manifest which they thought would take place in the outward realm; some wonderful spectacular event for all the world to see. While many continue today to look in the outward realm also, or as we see in the above verses at other men as their savior; few understand what was truly given to us from the Father which is manifested and brought to light through His Son, the hidden inward man. What are you receiving today; is your information and knowledge coming from above, or are you settling for second hand knowledge of man that is limited by their carnal thinking? Do you know for sure that the steps you take today are of faith; in other words those that God is asking of you, or are you following some man-made plan of salvation that doesn’t quite add up to our Lord’s standards? Salvation is a gift given to mankind from above, and just as you would be offended to give something of value to someone close to you only to find out it wasn’t appreciated or that they didn’t take the time to read the instructions before putting it to use; how it must hurt our Father to have so much to give to mankind only to see it ignored and discarded for a cheap imitation. Psalms 37:23-26 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. (24) Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. (25) I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. (26) He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. (KJV) Where are you heading today, and who is truly directing your path? Are you taking the time to receive your instructions from above knowing they are in order with our Lord, doing the things that are pleasing in His sight? Even though at times we do sin and fall short of the glory, the Lord is not casting us aside but rather like with a parent teaching a child to walk, He is there with His hand outstretched ready to pick us up again and get us back on the path of life. John 15:4-8 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (5) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (6) If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (7) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (8) Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. (KJV) Again we see the word nothing, which without the Lord’s leading and guiding in our walk we cannot do those things that are pleasing in His sight. As a branch grafted into the tree of life the only way we can live and continue in this new life is if we continue to receive our nutrients from the source. As newborn spiritual beings in Christ we need to receive and continue to nurture this new being inside us with spiritual food and drink in order to maintain a healthy relationship with our Father. Those that reject our Lord’s plan of salvation have broken off the line of communication with their Father; they are no longer receiving His living waters and they will dry up and die of thirst, eventually being burned. John 3:14-18 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: (15) That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV) God gave us a Savior, and gave Him a name above all names so that those that received this revelation should not perish but have eternal life through this name. Verses 15&16 use the words ‘should not’ not ‘would not’, because the choice is still ours to choose this day who we will truly serve and whether or not we will truly receive the gift of God which is eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ. Acts 4:7-12 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? (8) Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, (9) If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; (10) Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. (11) This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. (12) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV) God gave mankind access to eternal life, and only one name under heaven gives us this life so that we should not perish but receive our eternal reward as well. It’s a given to the people of God who our one mediator between us and God is; as well as the whole name that will make us whole and complete in Him, that being Jesus Christ. It’s a given, have you got it? God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:49-50 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. (50) Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. (KJV)
In order to be a partaker of an inheritance one must be a member of that family. God is a Spirit so only those that worship Him in spirit and in truth will be partakers as well as inheritors of His kingdom. Many people think that someday they will go to heaven and then see all their family members, and there will be a great reunion. However the truth be known, once you accepted the Lord’s plan of salvation you were adopted into a new family with a pure bloodline, that being the blood of Christ which cleanses us from all sin and allows us to be a part of His spiritual family. Luke 8:19-21 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press. (20) And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee. (21) And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it. (KJV) Which realm do you hold to now; in other words which one has the most influence in your life, the spiritual or the flesh and blood realm? Despite the fact that our Lord was very clear in who His family truly is, today many still hold and put more value in the fleshly realm than the spiritual one, and then wonder why their relationship with the Lord goes stale. If you were brought up in a Christian home that’s great, but what if those of your own household were not likeminded with you? In fact many times those of your own household may be more of a hindrance than a help to your spiritual welfare. My question is today, did the Lord make you the savior of your physical family, or does His word give specific warnings on how to handle these situations? Mark 6:1-6 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. (2) And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? (3) Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. (4) But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. (5) And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. (6) And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching. (KJV) Isn’t it interesting that the Lord Himself wasn’t given the royal treatment when around His own physical family, in His own country? So if our Lord didn’t fare to well with flesh and blood what makes you think you will either? Why let the enemy lay a guilt trip on you because you think you are a failure if your family doesn’t get saved the way you think they should? Let me share this tidbit also, at the end of verse three we see that they were offended in Him, which by the way included His physical family. Before you pack your bags to embark on a guilt trip, realize that you are in good company if some are offended in what you believe, even those of your own household. The theory of relativity doesn’t work with God; in other words once you entered the kingdom of God and sought out His righteousness you entered a whole new realm populated with a whole new spiritual family in Christ. Many people still look and see only the outward man, as with Jesus, they judged according to the flesh and blood line, and were unable to acknowledge who the Son of God is, who was standing in front of them, which was Christ in Him the only hope of glory. Today the majority of people still have this veil on their heart and only give credence to the outward, while a few ever truly come to a working knowledge of the inward man Christ and become partakers of His divine nature. Psalms 69:7-8 Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face. (8) I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children. (KJV) Did not our Lord say that if they persecuted Him they would do it to you also? Whether you believe it or not, Jesus of Nazareth’s own flesh and blood family were not on board with where the spirit of Christ was leading Him; which eventually ended up at a cross. While many teach and preach that you should be holding to your physical family until they get saved, the truth be known that the word of God is quite clear that the realm of the flesh is contrary to that of the Spirit. It is basically like trying to mix water and oil together. So Church, if you don’t quite jive with those of your own household don’t take it personally, because quite frankly you are in good company and good standing with our Lord. Matthew 10:34-38 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. (35) For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. (36) And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. (37) He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (38) And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. (KJV) Choose you this day who you will serve, because no man can serve two masters, and a house divided will definitely fall. The Lord said quite clearly that they who were not with Him were against Him. So just because you made a decision to serve our Lord doesn’t mean everyone else around you will. The question now becomes, if you are not finding peace where you are at, and around those you have been familiar with are you willing to move on in order to maintain that peace you have with God, or will you keep trying to find peace in a realm the Lord said it wouldn’t be found in? Nobody said it was an easy path to heaven; now the question becomes, will you take up your own cross in order to follow our Lord no matter who or what form it manifests itself in? When the Lord put these instructions in the Bible they are put there for our benefit; like throwing a lifeline to someone about to drown in destruction and despair. Luke 18:28-30 Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee. (29) And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, (30) Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting. (KJV) We just talked the last couple of days about relationships, those between a man and a woman and why we entered into these situations. Your life in the past was based on flesh and blood, the carnal mind that chose things that were pleasing to the flesh and not the Spirit. Now that you are a new creation in Christ old things are passed away and all things are become new, including your family in Christ and who our Lord now considers are your brothers and sisters in Christ. Maybe these people you are surrounded by are just not edifying you anymore and it is time to move on; again, no matter who or how it manifests. The question today is which realm are you holding more to, the Spirit or the flesh? Because while one will allow you to continue in your walk with the Lord, the other is a dead end that will have you coming up short if you continue to hold to an anchor and not a lifeline of escape. Revelation 21:4-5 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (5) And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. (KJV) Do you wish to partake of a new life? Then that needs to start today in order to partake of it for an eternity. While many people think that someday they will see lost loved ones based on flesh and blood ties; the truth be known, a spiritual God is only going to allow spiritual people access to His kingdom. There will be a family reunion in heaven that will be based on those in Christ; His brothers and sisters that chose to be lead of the Spirit and not the flesh. If you are unable to recognize the spiritual now then don’t expect to be recognized by a spiritual being in the here-after; because they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Who do you consider to be your true family; is it the family in Christ and what His word says, or are you holding more to the traditions and doctrines of man? Have you ever watched a show, a mystery where the main character is kept secret by not revealing their true identity until near the end of the program, then everything that was hidden all fits together and the mystery is solved? How about a work of art, a portrait of someone that was covered up until the unveiling, revealing the artist as well as who was portrayed in the painting. 2 Corinthians 3:14 [Which veil is done away in Christ.] It is only by acknowledging Christ that the darkness is removed, and the end and spiritual meaning of the law discerned. (from Adam Clarke Commentary) It takes a spiritual being to remove a spiritual veil, and that man is Christ, the one man that can give us an accurate portrayal of who God is and how we can worship Him in spirit and in truth. If any man has not the Spirit of Christ working in them, as well as a working knowledge of who He is, then the veil is still covering the heart and one is not able to see beyond their own carnal understanding. Thus why we see so many today still operating under the works of the old law and not understanding or discerning the spiritual meaning of it, and how it is done away in Christ. Christ is the end of the old law, having fulfilled all the law without sin and has come to introduce us to a new beginning in Him, a law of faith, a substance of things not seen by our fleshly sight but revealed to us through the Spirit. So today when we still see so many that are stuck on the works of the law, water baptisms, circumcisions or observing certain so called holy or holidays, we see the many that are blind to the truth and unable to truly access all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge which is only found in Christ. Romans 10:1-5 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. (2) For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. (3) For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. (4) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. (5) For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. (KJV) You are not going to find life in the old law because that is not the realm where our Lord operates. In fact the Bible is very clear to point out that the letter of the law and those that hold to it actually kill the meaning of God’s plan of salvation for His people; only those that operate in the realm of the Spirit will find life. Paul used Israel as an example for his time, but as one looks around today we have many that are still trying to establish their own righteousness according to their outward understanding because they have not submitted themselves to Christ and let Him lead and guide them in their search. So the ignorance we see today is a result of those that are still veiled, unable to see beyond the realm of the flesh, and not allowing the light of the glorious gospel of Christ to shine within. Where are you looking today for the one true answer that will bring peace to your life, is it still stuck in a carnal law that is dead, died, and should be buried, or is it in a risen Christ that is alive and well, seated at the right hand of the Father waiting for you to utilize all that God has for you? John 10:7-10 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. (8) All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. (9) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. (10) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJV) Many people today see and speak of a man named Jesus and the wonderful works God did through Him. I have found that few have a working knowledge of Christ, the Son of the living God that was working within Him, the hidden man. The enemy has no problem with religion and those that claim to know Jesus and try to imitate him, but it is those that know Christ and the power in His name that have now become a target because they are able to access the kingdom of God through His door. A spiritual door requires a spiritual access code to gain entrance, and only the complete name of Jesus Christ will get you into the new realm and allow you to see the kingdom of God unveiled. Ever wonder why it is termed antichrist, why the devil fights so hard to steal, kill, and destroy the true meaning of the power in the name of Christ and what His name truly gives you access into? People can pray and teach all they want in the name of Jesus which tells me they are only half right and still veiled; but those that know the name of Christ are the ones that are complete in Him and able to see beyond the veil. Luke 8:16-17 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. (17) For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. (KJV) Have you ever heard the advertisement for the motel chain that states that you are welcome and they will leave the light on? The light is on in heaven, and the true meaning of God’s word and plan of salvation is ready to be revealed to any and all that would enter in through His door so that they can see for themselves who they are in Christ. Everything that has been hid from mankind and kept secret because of sin is now readily accessible by the sacrifice of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. It is a grand unveiling which not only unveils God’s true identity, but also shows you who you are in Christ and where you fit in concerning your place in the body of Christ. It is only a spiritual group of believers that will be able to understand a spiritual being and operate in accordance with His will and not by their own understanding. Romans 8:6-9 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (KJV) As we clearly see it is our carnal mind and its understanding that is veiled and unable to access a life of peace. It takes the Spirit of Christ and an understanding of Him to access the kingdom of God and see all that has been hid in that realm. Without this Spirit of Christ we are none of His, but are just wandering around aimlessly in life, like the term ‘the blind leading the blind’. We have the mind of Christ, an enlightening of who we are in Him and the ability to access the kingdom of God through His name so that we no longer have to be on the outside of His kingdom looking in, but rather able to clearly see all that is available to His people. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (18) But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. (KJV) Williams New Testament translation 2Corinthians 3:17-18 17. Now the Lord means the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18. And all of us, with faces uncovered, because we continue to reflect like mirrors the splendor of the Lord, are being transformed into likeness to Him, from one degree of splendor to another, since it comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. Are you able to access all that the Lord has for you this day through the only door that gives us access, Jesus Christ? The Bible is clear to point out that there is no other name under heaven that is able to give us this, but the name of Jesus Christ. It takes a spiritual being to reveal a spiritual God, and only His spiritual name will give you access into His spiritual realm. Do you know the name by heart or is it still a mystery to you, or should I say still covered up? What would your life be like if you had a veil over your head and couldn’t see? Now translate that into the spiritual realm and that sums up mankind and how they blindly have been staggering through life unable to see or access the kingdom of God because of sin. Now think how glorious it is to have that veil removed, and now be able to see into a totally new realm, one of unending joy and peace, a truth that sets one free and allows them to walk the path of life. 2 Corinthians 3:14 [But their minds were blinded] By resting in the letter, shutting their eyes against the light that was granted to them, they contracted a hardness or stupidity of heart. And the veil that was on the face of Moses, which prevented the glory of his face from shining out, may be considered as emblematical of the veil of darkness and ignorance that is on their hearts, and which hinders the glory of the Gospel from shining in. [In the reading of the Old Testament] Here is an evident allusion to the conduct of the Jews in their synagogues: when they read the law they cover their whole head with a veil, which they term the Taliyt, veil, to cover; and this voluntary usage of theirs, the apostle tells us, is an emblem of the darkness of their hearts while they are employed even in sacred duties. [Which veil is done away in Christ.] It is only by acknowledging Christ that the darkness is removed, and the end and spiritual meaning of the law discerned. (from Adam Clarke Commentary) Now keep in mind that the veil that is being explained and used as an example is actually spiritual, one that covers the heart. So not only does it blind the heart, but it doesn’t allow for light to shine into it either, thus the term darkness is used throughout the Bible. So how does one go about removing this veil so that they can see things that have been hidden? 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: (4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (KJV) Have you ever heard the term ‘pulling the wool over their eyes’? That’s exactly what the enemy has done to mankind since the beginning, getting them to believe in a lie. In fact God describes His realm as a mystery, something that has been hid but now revealed to those that come to a working knowledge of Christ. Be aware, that even though you may have come to the Lord and have tasted the things of God, the enemy will do all he can to talk you back into the realm of darkness so that you will be blinded again. 2 Corinthians 4:5-6 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. (6) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (KJV) It took a spiritual being to remove a spiritual veil; God, so loving the world that He sent His only Son Jesus Christ to pay the price and remove this covering from the heart, and allow this light to shine into it. Have you ever tried reading in the dark? Well that is basically what mankind is doing until they allow this light to shine within and enlighten them to the things of the Spirit. Matthew 13:11-12 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. (12) For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. (KJV) You know, the more you allow this light to shine in the easier it is to see, especially when it comes to the knowing the mystery of the kingdom of God. A spiritual mystery requires a spiritual enlightenment if one is going to come to an understanding of it. So the more you come to know the Father through His Son Jesus Christ the clearer the meaning of the gospel becomes. Matthew 13:13-15 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. (14) And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: (15) For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. (KJV) When reading the gospels and hearing the accounts of those that were blind and then healed, stop and think of the joy and excitement it must have been for that person. Now you are in the same place spiritually; the eyes of your understanding have been enlightened to the truth; that veil that has been keeping you blind and ignorant to the truth is now removed and you are set free to walk in a new light. Now it is imperative to walk in the light and not allow the blindness to set in again. Luke 24:44-47 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. (45) Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, (46) And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: (47) And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (KJV) It was a risen Christ that opened their understanding; and it is only Christ that can bring this enlightenment into your life as well. To those that don’t know Christ and the power of His name, they are still walking in darkness and blinded by a spiritual veil that covers the heart and keeps His light from shining in. John 12:44-46 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. (45) And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. (46) I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. (KJV) The things of God are hid in Christ, and only the light and an understanding of His glorious gospel, the spiritual meaning of the scriptures, will enlighten you and give you an understanding of the mystery of the gospel. Christ is that spiritual being shining a spiritual light into the heart. Will you allow Him to remove the veil and walk in the light? God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Matthew 13:44-46 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. (45) Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: (46) Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. (KJV)
Williams New Testament translation Matthew 13:44-46: 44. "The kingdom of heaven is like a pot of gold which was buried in a field, which a man found and buried again; and for joy over it he went and sold all he had and bought that field. 45. "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a gem-dealer who was looking for beautiful pearls. 46. One day he found a very costly pearl, and he went and sold all he had and bought it. What would you do if you found a treasure hid in a field, something of great value and price that was there for the taking? As we see in the above verses everything and anything necessary to secure the possession, as well as being able to continue to access all that is available. For those that have been born again or born anew into the realm of the Spirit, now that you have found that great hidden treasure, something that has been there all along but was not found until the eyes of your understanding was enlightened, what are willing to do to so that you can access this eternal treasure? Are you willing to totally sell all that you have; in other words, are you willing to discard anything or anyone that would try to impede your accessing this treasure? Remember, the greater the treasure the more alert one needs to be because there are plenty of thieves and robbers who will try to steal from you what is rightfully yours. I like what Adam Clarke has to say concerning these verses as well, let’s take a look. Matthew 13:44 The kingdom of heaven-- the salvation provided by the Gospel-- is like a treasure-- something of inestimable worth-- hidden in a field; it is a rich mine, the veins of which run in all directions in the Sacred Scriptures; therefore, the field must be dug up, the records of salvation diligently and carefully turned over, and searched. Which, when a man hath found-- when a sinner is convinced that the promise of life eternal is to him, he kept secret-- pondered the matter deeply in his heart; he examines the preciousness of the treasure, and counts the cost of purchase; for joy thereof-- finding that this salvation is just what his needy soul requires, and what will make him presently and eternally happy, went and sold all that he had-- renounces his sins, abandons his evil companions, and relinquishes all hope of salvation through his own righteousness; and purchased that field-- not merely bought the book for the sake of the salvation it described, but, by the blood of the covenant, buys gold tried in the fire, white raiment, etc.; in a word, pardon and purity, which he receives from God for the sake of Jesus Christ. We should consider the salvation of God, 1. As our only treasure, and value it above all the riches in the world. 2. Search for it in the Scriptures, till we fully understand its worth and excellence. 3. Deeply ponder it in the secret of our souls. 4. Part with all we have in order to get it. 5. Place our whole joy and felicity in it; and 6. Be always convinced that it must be bought, and that no price is accepted for it but the blood of the covenant; the sufferings and death of our only Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (from Adam Clarke Commentary) Proverbs 2:1-5 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; (2) So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; (3) Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; (4) If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; (5) Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. (KJV) Which field are you looking in today for a treasure that will last an eternity? While God has provided a spiritual treasure of wisdom and knowledge to those in Christ, the enemy has many blinded and chasing the temporal treasures of the world. Just look at how much time, talent, and treasure gets put into casinos and lotteries, people looking for something they think will satisfy and bring them peace. Now just think how many strong single minded Christians we would have if that same effort was now fixated toward the things of God and His eternal treasure that awaits those that find it. For every spiritual blessing the Lord has poured out and made available to mankind the devil has a cheap imitation to keep them from finding and accessing the one true eternal riches which are only found in Christ. Luke 18:22-24 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. (23) And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. (24) And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! (KJV) Where your treasure is, that will determine the direction of the heart and what realm it wishes to hold to. The Spirit and the flesh are contrary, the one to the other, and those that desire to have their reward here will not be able to inherit an eternal one. So while today man’s messages of financial prosperity are nothing but a cheap hoax compared to what is available in Christ, we have many today who have Americanized the gospel for filthy lucre sake robbing the congregation blind. Why are so many chasing the things of this world that our Lord clearly demonstrated and spoke about as being detrimental to their spiritual welfare? The riches of this world which the enemy tries to portray as the answer only make those that chase after them sorrowful, piercing them with many sorrows and drowning in destruction and perdition. Colossians 1:26-28 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: (27) To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (28) Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: (KJV) Are you digging into the word of God with the same zeal and determination as you would if it were a treasure hid in a field? The things of God are hid in Christ but ready to be revealed to any that would sell out to the ways of the world and seek them with all their heart. This is a true treasure that is hid to the carnal man but is in plain sight to the spiritual one. In the end it will only be those who have searched diligently and found out who they are in Christ who will have access to this treasure of wisdom and knowledge, and receive their reward of inheritance which will be an eternal wealth of joy and peace. Proverbs 8:21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. (KJV) Is there some real substance in your walk with the Lord? Do you know for sure what the true riches of His kingdom is and how to access it daily so that your spiritual treasure chest can be full and stay that way? If not, you will find yourself in the wrong field blindly digging, with plenty of holes in your doctrine. Colossians 2:2-4 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; (3) In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (4) And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. (KJV) While mankind keeps pointing to this world and the dead things of it concerning treasure, the one true treasure of wisdom and knowledge can only be accessed from the Father through Christ, which will give you the assurance and understanding of the mystery that is hid in Him. So put down that shovel and pick up that Bible and start digging in fertile eternal ground so that you can be grounded and settled and not moved away from the one true treasure, Christ in you the only hope of glory.
