Good day. Today's video Wild Fires is on the topic of: What are the qualifications of the sons of God? Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children (sons) of God (KJV). In Genesis 6:1-5 The "daughters of men", refers to all the ungodly (the godless line of Cain who slew his brother Abel), they of the world, the fallen state of man, and giants refers to tyrants or bullies; the "sons of God" refers to all the godly (the godly line of Seth Genesis 4:26...then began men to call upon the name of the Lord), and now those who are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God, the heirs of salvation through faith. The devil and his angels are the fallen angels that rebelled and continue to (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), against God; the angels of God are his ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation. There is a false doctrine, a world of iniquity being spoken, spreading like a wild fire which claims that the sons of God refers to angels, and that it was these angels that went into the daughters of men and created giants (large men like Goliath), not having their understanding enlightened by the Spirit of God but by the imaginations of their hearts they have created this falsehood. God has confirmed throughout the Bible who he considers sons (children) of God and angels are not spoken of nor referred to as sons of God. The sons (children) of God is reserved for those who by being led by the Spirit of God have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully, who continue to hold forth the word of God in sincerity and in truth in the sight of God and men. John 1:12-13 But as many as received him (Jesus Christ), to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (KJV). 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty (KJV). Spiritual wild fires begin in the imaginations of men, who have "not" studied to show themselves approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth, instead they have been deceived by the devil and his angels. So Church, Christ is the power and wisdom of God, it is Christ in you the hope of glory, so seek first the kingdom of God (behold the kingdom of God is within you) and his righteousness, studying to show yourself approved unto God, a workman who needs not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth; and work out your own salvation with fear (reverence) and trembling, for it is God who works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure; and only then will you be considered a son or daughter of God our Father. Stay consistent in truth of the gospel of Christ so that you are able to put out the wild fires and stop the insanity of false brethren with false doctrines and motives from spreading any further. Tuesday, February 18, 2014 Angels Psalms 34:6-8 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the LORD encamps round about them that fear him, and delivers them. 8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in him. (KJV) Growing up I heard the term guardian angel used many times to let me know that I was being protected. God can use an angel to keep us safe as He has done throughout the Bible; more importantly we need to know that we have access to a shield of faith that keeps our Spirit man covered from the fiery darts of the enemy. Matthew 18:10-14 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. 11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. 12 How think you? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goes into the mountains, and seeks that which is gone astray? 13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoices more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. 14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. (KJV) As a newborn babe in Christ we see that God keeps a close watch on His flock. In fact we see the angels are keeping a watch as well. It’s one thing for God to see His people perish for lack of knowledge, but it’s something else entirely to see the flock being misled by others, and it’s something He takes personally. Exodus 23:20-22 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. 21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him. 22 But if thou shall indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. (KJV) The children of Israel had an angel bodyguard, and as you see this being was not someone you wanted to mess with, but who would be your best buddy if you were obedient to the voice of God. Today our Lord has made a way of escape for His people, a chosen path to follow made before the foundation of the world. Even though at times it may seem impossible, He has a way of making the impossible, possible. Exodus 23:23-25 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off. 24 Thou shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shall utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images. 25 And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. (KJV) The same blessings we see in verse 25 are still in play today. The same protection and victory that was provided then is still available now. However God chooses to make a way of escape for His people He is more than capable of doing it, whether He chooses an angel of His to make it happen or not. Matthew 26:52-54 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. 53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? (KJV) Our Lord knew His rights and authority in the Word; He knew that if it was the will of God to make a way of escape from the situation that it would happen; and the only reason they were able to take His life is because He laid it down, which was the will of God. God bless dearly loved, and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Good day. Today's video Wild Fire is on the topic of: Church beware of the leaven of false teachings, doctrines of devils, that are spreading like a wild fire in the pulpits of false prophets and among their members; evil communications that can and will, if not doused with living waters, corrupt good morals. And just like Israel intermingled and intermarried with other nations which corrupted their hearts from following the One and only true God who had chosen them a people of his own, so is it happening today with Christians, God's chosen peculiar people by his Son Jesus Christ, who are repeating the same pattern by allowing in other religions and the world and its ways into their pulpits, and among their members and their heart is being turned from the truth of the gospel of Christ, and from following the One and only true God and Jesus Christ whom he sent. James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship (fondness) of the world is enmity (opposition) with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God (KJV). Man is fallible, corruptible and full of the imaginations of their own hearts who corrupt the word of God for filthy lucre (money) sake, or to be seen of men, or for the praise and approval of men. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Will you allow the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth that you have been given by God through his Son Jesus Christ to guide you into all truth, rightly dividing the word of truth, so that you do not get caught in a wild fire of false doctrine, but are able to douse it with living waters holding God to be true and man a liar? Remember, God is not a man that he should lie, and every word of God is pure, and it is truth. Church, only you can prevent a spiritual wild fire of falsehoods (doctrines), by knowing the truth which will make you free and keep you free indeed (reality), and then you are able to spot the wild fire of iniquity and douse it with living waters, saving yourself and those that hear you. God bless and keep the faith. Monday, February 17, 2014 Angels Hebrews 1:1-4 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. (KJV) In the past God used different methods to get mans’ attention, sometimes he sent angels, but in these last days we live in God has chosen for us to communicate with Him through His Son Jesus Christ. When reading through the Bible you will see angels were used to deliver messages and at times offer protection for the people of God. This week we will elaborate on the place and purpose angels still have today. Hebrews 1:5-7 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 6 And again, when he brings in the first begotten into the world, he saith, and let all the angels of God worship him. 7 And of the angels he saith, who makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. (KJV) The Son of God, Jesus Christ, has seniority in heaven being given the position as mediator and head of the Church. So when praying to God you need to go through Him in order for your prayers to go through. Trying any other method or medium to get through, even angels, will not work. It’s like dialing the wrong phone number; you need the right number to get through. Hebrews 1:13-14 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? (KJV) Angels still have a purpose and God can still use them as He chooses, but angels are not spirits that we can access or dispatch, that is up to God Himself. Anyone who tries to pray to angels or the dead, whether they are fallen saints or Mary the mother of Jesus, they will not go through. There is so much confusion concerning this topic because the enemy will do all he can to disable the Church. Hebrews 2:1-3 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. 2 For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; 3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; (KJV) For those who have read through the Bible, you see that those who didn’t give heed to the instructions given by angels who were sent by God, their end result was disaster. Now God has sent mankind someone greater than the angels and it is imperative we give the more earnest heed to His Son, Jesus Christ. God bless dearly loved, and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Good day. Today's video My Redeemer is on the topic of: The Lord Jesus Christ my redeemer, your redeemer, our redeemer. Jesus Christ paid the price with his life for our sins, (for we were carnal, sold under sin), not only ours but the sins of the whole world. God is no respecter of persons; John 3:16-17 God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that "whosoever" believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (KJV). So you see that by grace (grace and truth came by Jesus Christ, the Son), we are saved through faith; God gave his Son, his grace and truth, Jesus Christ, who died for all, and those who have accepted him as their Lord and Savior, he has redeemed from a life of sin and bondage to the god of this world, satan. We are bought (redeemed = a ransom, a price paid for slaves, to purchase) with a price, and we are not our own, we are the Lord's purchased possession, and what a price he paid for each and every one of us, so let us not be the servants of men. For the riches of this world cannot redeem men and neither can men redeem men. Jesus Christ said I am the resurrection and the life, and I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no man can come to the Father but by me; so, whether we live therefore or we die, we are the Lord's, he redeemed us, not men. 1 Peter 1:18-21 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. (KJV) This is how we were purchased, not with tithing 10 percent of our money, for we cannot buy our way into heaven. Our salvation by, through, and in Jesus Christ is a free gift and we freely have access to the riches of His grace, the true riches of wisdom and knowledge. I am dead, purchased by the precious blood of Christ, and my life is hid with Christ in God; my redeemer is Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords. We pray that you also know Him as your Redeemer, and you are His purchased possession unto eternal life. Remember, we must die to live. God bless and keep the faith. Fine Tuned!?? v20n35 “You see, faith must come from what is heard, (for without faith, it is impossible to please God) and what is heard, must come from Word of Christ.” Romans 10:17 Moffatt translation. “But I ask, have they never heard? Indeed they have. Their voice carried over all the earth, and their words unto the end of the world.” Romans 10:18 Moffatt translation. “But I ask, have they not heard? Yes indeed: To the whole world the preachers vices have sounded forth, and their words to the remotest parts of the earth.” Romans 10:18 Weymouth translation. We have to hear the message of Father, through His Son Jesus Christ in order for us (the individual, you or I) to be born again. We have to hear this message of truth, in order for us to act upon His Word, and become that new creation in Christ. However, do we hear this message with the physical ear, or with the spiritual ear? (Those that are after the flesh, do mind the things of the flesh; so then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.) As we hear the Word of God, this (the Word) is what feeds, nourishes, and strengthens our spirit man. However, unless we have ears and a heart that are willing to hear, listen to, and obey, what will happen to us? Many claim to be listening to the Word of God, but in fact and all reality, what they are listening to are well-constructed stories and or fables. (2Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (KJV)) They are held hostage, kept captive, by the things of this world. 2 Timothy 2:25-26 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. (KJV) Jeremiah 13:15-17 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken. Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness. But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD's flock is carried away captive. (KJV) John 5:34-35 But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved. He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. (KJV) God is a spirit, and they that worship God must worship Him in spirit and in truth; His Word is truth! To have fellowship with Father, we have to be living and operating in the spiritual realm, not the fleshly. (If any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His!) Jesus Christ said quite clearly, very plainly, that the words that He spoke are spirit and they are life. The flesh profits nothing. Faith, our ability to believe God, comes and is developed by the time that we take, to stop all that we are doing and have fellowship with Father in and through His written Word. However, many do not take the time each day to fellowship with Father. They have not built up a personal and intimate relationship with Him. They have not learned, nor know how to trust Father for their daily bread, no, not the physical or the spiritual. We need to learn to become selective in all that we hear, since it is our hearing that will either draw us closer to God, or lead us further away from Him. Where do your words have you? Is all that you hear, all that you are listening to, bringing you into a closer relationship with Father? Psalms 119:9-10 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: (KJV) We need to teach and instruct ourselves on how to give heed to His Word. Many times to what the Word of God says, but we do not hear the guidance and instruction that it is giving us for our daily life. (Now faith is!) Many will sit in front of the TV set for hours each day, and listen to all of the commercials suggest to them, of what they should have for good health each day. They will take their vitamins each day (and the more they cost, the better they must be). They will sit down and eat their breakfast, and eat what the world has told them is best for them. They will have their snacks or rolls with the morning coffee. They will have a fast food lunch; and then gorge themselves at dinnertime. Can one really believe that all that they have ate that day has truly been healthy for them? What we hear, advertisements, peoples recommendations, and every other such thing, is much of what determines what we buy; what we eat; where we go; and whom we choose for friends. How often do we turn to the Word of God before we make any of these choices or decisions? The decisions that we take from other people and try, we then recommend or suggest to other people. We share those recommendations and suggestions with them and tell of our opinions. We have now become an endorser and promoter of the products or things that we have suggested to others. Likewise, what we hear about God; we then too make decisions and choices. We go off of what sounds good; or feels good. We go off chasing what we have seen other people do. And then we will eventually recommend it to others. (Have we forgot, that Father will hold us accountable for anyone that we lead astray?) However, unless we have a personal and intimate relationship with Father, how do you know that that which you are recommending to someone else, is what is truly good for their spiritual well being? How sure are you of what you are sharing that it is straight from the throne of God Almighty? It is no different than when most of us go into a bakery, we do no get what is best for us; rather we get what pleases us. And this is what most also do with God. They do not seek that of His Word for what is best for them, but rather that which most pleases them, that which will make them most a part of the crowd. We need to become selective in what we allow ourselves to hear and listen to. We need to be sure that what we hear is truly good for our spiritual well being. They have to be words that will bring us into a closer relationship with Father. 2 Timothy 3:14-17 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (KJV) Are your ears fine-tuned to the voice of God? Or, are you one of those that have turned aside unto fables? That you may know Him, In the service of Jesus Christ Larry Gazelka Good day. Today's video King of kings is on the topic of: Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords. His kingdom is not of this world. When we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, God translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, and our citizenship is now in heaven, where God raised us up and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, who is seated at His right hand. In the Old Testament Israel rejected God's anointed judge and prophet Samuel, thus rejecting God, and they demanded a king be set over them that they may be like all the other nations, and that their king would judge them, and go out before them, and fight their battles. Today, many Christians are doing the same; they have rejected God's anointed judge and prophet, King of kings and Lord of lords, His Son Jesus Christ, and have set over themselves unknowingly due to their own ignorance concerning God and his plan of salvation through his Son, their own appointed false judges and prophets, kings and lords in the form of ministers, pastors, teachers, priests, etc. to reign over them and fight their battles for them, and to lay blame on, who in turn bring them into bondage laying heavy burdens that they are not able to bear, and they love to have it so (Read what Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 and 19-20). Many rely more on what men say about the scriptures instead of going to the source of all truth, wisdom and knowledge, the King of kings and Lord of lords who has overcome the world. The Lord Jesus Christ said "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:28-30); thus, the simplicity of salvation is in him. Do you know the King of kings, the Lord of lords? Is He truly your King and Lord? Who do you want to reign over you, to judge you, to teach you, to go before you, to fight your battles for you? Men or God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ? Choose you this day who you will serve! God bless and keep the faith. Stay Tuned V17n29 How often have you talked to yourself, and made statements that you hear, but did not pay much attention to? For myself, I can recall asking God to be a little clearer, on what He would have me do. Looking for God to take me by the hand, and lead me down this path, so I will not make any mistakes. Yet, we know that the scriptures tell us, "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed." It also tells us, to "be a doer of the Word, and not a hearer only." I have to walk the walk, as well as talk the talk. I have to set an example that people will know is achievable. They have to see that they too, are capable of hearing God, and doing as He asks of us, as individuals. For those of you who are around my age or older, you will remember the radios that we had a few years ago. They had tubes instead of transistors. You had to be real exact in setting the tuning, if you wanted to get real clear reception of any station. If you set it in a hurry, you ran the risk of having the station fade in and out. The end result is, that you could miss the most important part of the program that you are listening to. Christianity - our walk with God, is much the same way. Our relationship with God is like that tune radio. It takes a real fine-tuning, to hear and maintain our fellowship with the Father. What we have to take the time to hear and understand is, what does it take, to keep ourselves fine tuned, just as that old radio? First off, we have to remember that the radio needed a power source, 120 volts. So, you have to be at a place where a power source is available. We as Christians, have to recognize our source. Faith only comes by developing a relationship with Jesus Christ. The moment we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we are given the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). We have received the gift of Christ (Eph. 4:7). We become a new creation, old things pass away, and I have a new lease on life (II Cor. 5:17). Now that I have a power source for my radio, I can turn the set on. Since this is a tube radio, it will take a little time for the tubes to warm up, and become operational, for the purpose that it was intended. Now that I am born-again, I too have a power source for my life. I have the ability to stay plugged into it at all times. Yet, I also have a free will, so that if I choose to stray from it, I will come unplugged. The glow of the tubes goes out, and until I get plugged back into the proper power source, I will no longer be capable of hearing the instructions that Father has for me. Once I get plugged back in again, it takes awhile for the tubes to again get warm, to where the radio will be operational. It will be a short time until I can again have clear reception. All because I choose to stray from the power source. God's Word, (the Bible) is my power source. I have the choice to stay plugged into it each and everyday of my life. If I choose to walk away from it, whether for several days, several weeks or several years, the result is always the same. I have broken the communications link with the Father. It is not always easy re-establishing that link. Too often, we have gotten ourselves in spiritual hot water, and we want an answer right away. We want immediate results. Yet, we can no longer hear Father's voice as clear, since we had been disconnected from "the" power source. Faith, my ability to believe Father, is maintained by hearing Father's Word. "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." I have to maintain clear reception on my radio, so I can always hear Father's instructions and guidance clearly. Staying in His Word, maintains the power source. In our society, we have so many distractions that try to disconnect us from our power source. We have television, which tells us everything, but what we need to know. It gives us all kinds of visions of things that satisfy the flesh, but little of what nourishes the spirit man. The radio has many stations that will tell us many things that sound good to us. It will give us entertainment. But, it will take real fine-tuning to find the station that will give us what we need to hear. It too, senses mostly signals that satisfy the flesh. So, how do we stayed tuned, in a world that is programmed to lead us astray? How do we stay focused? How do we stay tuned? Just as with the radio, where we have the tuner positioned, will determine what kind of message we will receive. Likewise, in our spiritual walk, where we have ourselves hanging out will be indicative of our spiritual health. If we have ourselves around loose lips, the evil communications will have an effect on us. (I Cor 15:33, Matt 12:36). This is why we have to keep ourselves fine tuned. Eliminating the interference gives us clearer reception of the signal. This makes the message more understandable. As radio's developed, they learned to design filters for the radios that would filter out a good portion of the background noise, thus giving us a much better signal, with less static at the speaker. As Christian's, as we learn and become effective at hearing and applying God's Word, it in effect is similar to a filter. As our knowledge of the "Word" grows, it sheds light on the darkness. It is love, overcoming fear. God has not given us the spirit of fear (II Tim. 1:7). Perfect love casts out fear. (I John 4:18). We have the ability as Christians, to set up filter systems for our reception. We are able to filter out everything that is not from above (James 1:17). But, the choice is ours. No one can force anything on you. Also, with our old tube type radios, reception at times was a little bit perturbing. You would have to turn the radio a little one way or the other, to get better reception. Or, even where it was located in the room would raise havoc with the incoming signal. Sound real similar to our Christian walk? Where are we facing? Which direction are we headed? If you are seeking the wealth of the world, which direction are you headed? How clear will the message of salvation be received? If all we are seeking, are signs and wonders, and not a working knowledge of the Word, which direction are we headed? It says (the Bible), that the Lord confirmed the Word, with signs following (Mark 16:20). We need to seek the Lord while He may be found. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Faith comes from the message heard. Which station you are tuned to, will determine what kind of a message you will hear. As for me and my house, we will stay tuned to the Lord! Today's video On Purpose is on the topic of: Does your life have meaning, purpose? Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven: (KJV) Your life was planned out by God before the foundation of the world with the eternal purpose which he proposed in his Son Christ Jesus our Lord in whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him, that your joy might be full, and you might have life and life more abundantly in his Son. When you came to the Lord you came into agreement with his plan of salvation which gives your life meaning, which has purpose. Jesus Christ gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father; he came down from heaven not to do his own will but the will of our Father who is in heaven, and to be a witness unto the truth; and everyone that is of the truth hears his voice, and testifies of his eternal purpose which he in turn has purposed within you. Our life has purpose, and that purpose is found in Christ, so let his will be done and not our own will (don't be self-willed, arrogant), but allow the Lord to lead and guide you into all truth in knowing what your purpose, your place in the body of Christ is, for there you will have the peace of God ruling in your heart, where fear has no place, and where he always causes us to triumph in Christ and overcome this present evil world as he did. So Church, God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ have a blueprint, a GPS guidance system, planned out in advance for each of us in the body of Christ each day, and it's a lot better than what we can come up with, so seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness to find out his purpose for your life today, because we only have now faith to walk in; yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not here yet, and there is enough evil to have to deal with today; so put on and keep on the whole armor of God, and go live a life which has purpose and do things on purpose with thanksgiving giving praise, honor, and glory to God our Father for the abundant eternal life which he has purposed for us in his Son, Christ Jesus our Lord. God bless and keep the faith. When Is an Answer, Not an Answer? v21n6 So many times in life we ask a question with preconceived thoughts and ideas of what we think the answer should be. When the answer does not fall within the parameters of what our predisposition was, we then disregard the response. We not only do this in every day life, but we many times do this also with God. In all reality, we could phrase the title of this week's newsletter in several different ways. We could also title it; "When is a question, not a question?" Many times, we will ask a question with the only real purpose of being able to promote and address our own agenda. By doing this, we are trying to bait people into a confrontation, by asking questions that will bring about answers in which we will be able to support our views. Luke 10:29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? (KJV) In this case of the lawyer, he was not really seeking answers, but was rather promoting self-justification. He (the lawyer) was going about to establish his own righteousness. This lawyer did not really want to change, as he was quite satisfied with the life that he had. The answer that Jesus Christ gave the lawyer, was not the answer that this lawyer wanted to hear. For the lawyer was in the same category as the priest and the Levite that had passed by the person wounded and dying in the ditch. Many times in this life we will make attempts to justify ourselves before Father. Instead of heeding Father's counsel through, we will become like the lawyer, and try to justify our decision as well as our walk. Often times, when Father asks a question of us, we do not respond fully or truthfully. Rather, we become as the lawyer did in his conversation with the Lord. We will always be able to find excuses when we do not want to hear that which Father is asking of us. We will always think within ourselves that we have found a legitimate reason for our decision. Why do we call Him Lord, Lord, and do not the things that He is asking of us? Luke 9:57-58 And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. (KJV) The people that watched the life of Jesus Christ of Nazareth observed a man that was able to perform miracle after miracle and feat after feat. Whether it was bringing about the healing of someone with the issue of blood, raising someone from the dead, to feeding thousands with a few loaves and fishes, they marveled at what He was able to do. So what we have to understand here, is that this certain man, when saying that he would follow Jesus Christ was not as difficult as it first appeared, since one would think to himself that anyone that followed Him would be given this power. Yet the response of Jesus Christ in verse fifty-eight is not the answer this man expected to hear, nor wanted to hear. The answer that Jesus Christ gives here, is not the same as the answer that we hear from many preachers in the world today. Jesus Christ plainly tells this man that the birds and foxes have places to make their homes and rest, yet the son of man has no place to lay His head. Is this the answer this man expected to have? Is this the answer we expect to hear? Do you think this man followed Jesus Christ after hearing this response? Will you follow Jesus Christ after this response? Matthew 6:33-34 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (KJV) We are to seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, Christ. Yet many of the messages that are being taught within the Church today, have us seeking the wealth of the world, rather than the riches of God. If you had to live as Jesus Christ did, would you still follow Him? If you had to depend on your every need to come from Father, would you still follow Him? Not always the easiest thing, to walk by faith, and not by sight. Luke 9:59-60 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. (KJV) And yet another was spoken to and asked if he would follow Jesus Christ. However, his reply was that he had personal matters, family matters to attend to first. Things more important to tend to, than what God was asking of him. How often are we too still responding in this manner. Many times we put life on this earth ahead of living forever with God. We tend to things that are dead, or will lead to death, before the very bread of life. Many a time we will boastfully tell the Lord that we do want to serve Him, and that we will do all that He asks of us. Then, when we hear the Lord's response, it is not the answer that we wanted to hear. That is when an answer is not the answer, that answer we wanted to hear. Why is this? Could it be that we had already formulated in our mind the answer that we not only expected to hear, but wanted to hear? And when it is not the answer that we wanted to hear, will we still do that which we were asked? Do you think that this man followed the Lord, or went back and tended to the dead things that hindered his path? Luke 9:61-62 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. (KJV) And yet still another said, I will follow you Lord, but! How often is it that we do the same thing with Father? We set conditions that we have to have met first, before we will do that which He asks of us. We tell God what we think is necessary before we will do that which is being asked of us. The majority of the time, we want to run back to the world and get their approval before we will do that which has been asked of us by God. This man wanted to run back to his family and friends and get their approval before following the Lord. How often does the world approve of anyone following Jesus Christ? What would be their response if this man was the one that provided for the household? What we also have to see and hear here, is that this man was allowing the tempter another opportunity to talk him out of that which had been asked of him by God. Many are called, but few are chosen. And this is not because God loves certain people more than others, for we know that He is no respecter of persons. We have to keep fresh in our mind, that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. The reason few are chosen is that few will respond to Father's call. Most respond with "yes Lord, I will follow you, BUT!" If we do not know who Jesus Christ is, why would we ever want to follow? What has been your reply to God?
