John 1:29-32 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world. 30 This is he of whom I said, after me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. 31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. (KJV)
Before my own conversion in Christ, I too like John did not know the Lord personally. Even though he knew according to the flesh this man was his cousin, he didn’t fully comprehend who He really was. John 1:32-34 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. 33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, upon whom thou shall see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizes with the Holy Ghost. 34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. (KJV) Take note that water baptism was John’s calling and ministry so that the Lord could be manifest to the Israelites. However, there is a new baptism which has, or should have taken over; it involves the realm of the Spirit which is why many are missing it. John knew this man Jesus of Nazareth after the flesh, but it was the Son of God, Christ within Jesus of Nazareth, that John did not know personally because at the time the Spirit had not been poured out and John had not been born again. Today we see those who still carry out the outward version of baptism and have not truly seen into the realm of the Spirit where our Lord is now operating. John 1:18-20 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. 19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, who art thou? 20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. (KJV) The carnal mind cannot see or comprehend the realm of the Spirit; which is why many are in the dark concerning who our Lord is and His name. Many today, just like in the time of John the Baptist, only see and understand Jesus the man after the flesh without knowing who the Son of God is who was residing within. I to this day cannot for the life of me understand why people swear up and down that Jesus himself was God when the Word is clear to point out that God sent His Son to declare Him. That must be why the Lord said the blind are leading the blind into a ditch. 1 Corinthians 15:47-50 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. (KJV) The second Adam was the first born again man who is a spiritual being. You will need more than a flesh and blood understanding in order for you to inherit eternal life. So Church let’s get rid of the spiritual blinders and start looking within, so that you are not left without. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. (KJV)
There are many voices in the world and none without significance. With that being said, Jesus Christ said that His sheep know His voice and a stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers (John 10:3-5). There are many in this world that follow after that which is spoken by strangers, or more specifically, satan and his workers. Through subtly they lure many unsuspecting fools into seeking the weak and beggarly elements of this world having promised them liberty through worldly riches; and these same fools in the end find themselves in bondage again. Why fools? Because they have chosen to be so; they have sold their soul for the short time pleasures of this life, in which their soul will be required of them in the end. That is, if they do not seek the One who has already paid the price for their soul’s redemption, that being Jesus Christ, and follow after Him. John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: (KJV) So you can see the importance of knowing the Lord’s voice, because if it is not His voice that you hear then flee, turn from it and run away toward the Lord who is your shield, your fortress, your protector. Don’t allow a stranger to talk you out of the life that God has for you, or to talk you out of your eternal inheritance in Christ. Jesus Christ silenced the voices (lies) by choosing to ignore them, to not follow them, and instead He chose to follow after righteousness and true holiness. So today; hear Christ, be known of Him, and follow after Him. For in doing this you will be able to discern the Lord’s voice from that of strangers, and be strengthened in following after the things which make for peace and things wherewith you may edify another. 1 Timothy 6:6-12 2. To arm him against the love of the world, he directs him to follow that which is good. Follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness: righteousness in his conversation towards men, godliness towards God, faith and love as living principles, to support him and carry him on in the practice both of righteousness and godliness. Those that follow after righteousness and godliness, from a principle of faith and love, have need to put on patience and meekness-patience to bear both the rebukes of Providence and the reproaches of men, and meekness wherewith to instruct gainsayers and pass by the affronts and injuries that are done us. Observe, It is not enough that men of God flee these things, but they must follow after what is directly contrary thereto. Further, What excellent persons men of God are who follow after righteousness! They are the excellent of the earth, and, being acceptable to God, they should be approved of men. (from Matthew Henry's Commentary) God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Strongs definition for prayer:
NT:4336 proseuchomai (pros-yoo'-khom-ahee); from NT:4314 and NT:2172; to pray to God, i.e. supplicate, worship: KJV - pray (X earnestly, for), make prayer. We were watching a program one day on a popular so called Christian TV station in which they were promoting a ‘countdown to prayer’…and here I thought we are instructed to pray without ceasing!? I am being facetious. What total rubbish! What an insult to our Father who has instructed us to pray without ceasing and yet there are many in this world who will follow after this garbage of doctrine being promoted. These so called men of God are just like those who were selling in the temple of God in the time of Jesus Christ. John 2:13-16 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, (14) And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: (15) And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; (16) And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise. (KJV) Many are out there today making our Father’s house a house of merchandise and in the end they will be wearing a millstone about their neck. The sad thing is the people being deceived, who are buying the flawed merchandise because they themselves have not taken the time to know the genuine merchandise of God so that they can spot the fake merchandise being peddled to them by those who promise them liberty yet who are the servants of corruption. They are making merchandise of the people of God so don’t accept this garbage being peddled! Don’t be as the many which corrupt the word of God for gain in this world and admiration of man, but be as the few who hold the word of God in sincerity and in truth; and who desire to worship our Father in Spirit and in truth. 2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. (KJV) For the world, there is a countdown to prayer and if they don’t make it into prayer through Jesus Christ before the countdown ends, it is lights out. But, for a Christian there should not be a countdown to prayer happening at all, if there is, guess what, they may not be one of His. Check it out; let God be true and every man a liar. God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. 2 Timothy 2:15 [Study to allow thyself approved unto God] Endeavor so to cultivate and improve thy heart and mind, that thou mayest be a reproach to him from whom thou professest to receive thy commission. (from Adam Clarke Commentary)
Endeavor means to strive for the attainment of some object. Strive means to labor hard or earnestly; aim, struggle. Cultivate means to till (stir up); improve by care, labor, or study. When we think of the word ‘study’ what comes to mind for many is when we were in school and we had to read books and memorize or learn what was in them, and it wearied the flesh because most of it did not pertain to life itself, true life. Think about when you were a child, how do you think you learned to walk, to communicate, to feed yourself, to know the difference between good and bad, hot or cold? We learned these things by listening, watching, and doing those things that we had heard and had seen. The world was interesting to us as a child; it was an adventure in how we learned and grew, there was something new and different each day. It was through the experiences that we learned the most and gained understanding. Not through books of man’s knowledge. Now do you know why when you were born again of the Spirit that you were instructed to come to Him as a child? Many search the scriptures with the same structure that they were taught in school instead of allowing the Holy Spirit to lead and guide them. The letter killeth, it is the Spirit that gives life and meaning to the scriptures. It is the leading and guiding of the Spirit in the experiences of life that bring the scriptures to life within us. The true life is within us, not in books or in man’s wisdom which many teach and which many follow after. True life and study is in Christ, and in Him we are approved unto God. So let us study so to cultivate and improve our heart and mind before God in sincerity and in truth this day by letting the Spirit lead and guide. Experience the Word of God; let it be a new adventure, new each day, and let it bring forth understanding, knowledge, and the wisdom from above within you. For in this you will not be wearied, but you will be strengthened and encouraged in growing up in to Christ in all things. God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Colossians 4:5-6 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. (6) Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. (KJV)
Have you ever put seasoning like salt on something only to find out that when you tasted it that you had put too much on? Salt enhances the flavor of many foods, but if too much is added it can spoil the whole lump. For some people they desire a lot of salt, for others it may be a pinch, and yet others don’t want it at all. But with the right amount of salt the flavor bursts forth and overcomes the old taste buds allowing the new to savour the rich satisfying flavor. Hungry yet? J How much of the Lord’s seasoning do you try to shake out onto others? Many young Christians foolishly loosen the lid on the salt shaker just waiting for someone to come along seeking to partake of it; seeking an answer of the hope within them. Then, BAM off comes the lid and the salt spills all over the savory meal they were starting to partake of and spoils it. At that point they turn and walk away disappointed and overwhelmed by what just happened, or they turn and angrily rend you. Not only was the meal that was prepared spoiled, but how much of the Lord’s seasoning was just wasted? It is when the “I” gets in the way that this usually happens. Because the “I” is not paying attention to how much salt is coming out, and many times those who are on the receiving end are about to wilt away because they cannot absorb it all. Each individual is unique and only the Lord knows the right amount of His Word that they can handle. Until one learns to add the right amount of the Lord’s seasoning, that being led by the Spirit, they will continue to cause a bad taste in the mouths of those who are only seeking a simple answer. The Lord prepares a simple tasty meal for those who are hungry, and we need to be ready (prepared with the right amount of seasoning) to serve the meal as He desires it to be served. His desire is that they would return for more and be filled and satisfied in Him. Not for them to go away hungry and disappointed or angered by the meal they were subjected to because an “I” got in the way. Now as we grow and mature in the Lord we hear more clearly, and we learn how to apply the Lord’s seasoning, and just how much for each Spiritual meal; knowing that it is the Lord who has prepared the meal as He saw fit and knows the need. As with Jesus Christ, He learned to hear clearly on what to say, and then to wait and hear on how the Father would have Him to speak it, so that it would minister grace unto the hearer. We too have tasted that the Lord is gracious through the right amount of His Word which He knew we had need of. Think about this; the Lord has prepared all of our meals for us with just the right amount of seasoning that caused a desire within us to seek out more of His Spiritual meals. That is what He desires to do for all. We have the seasoning of the Lord within us and He desires to use us to minister grace unto the hearers as well with just the right amount of His seasoning applied, so that one more might seek to have their belly filled with the meat that perishes not. Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. (KJV) God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. God speaks a language that reaches and touches the heart. His language is sharper than any two-edged sword; and it is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. It ministers grace unto the hearers. It is Spirit and it is life.
If you remember in Acts chapter 2 it gives the account of when the Holy Spirit was given. How those who were ready to receive it began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Not only that, but when this was spoken of abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because every man heard them speak in his own language (Acts 2:4-6). Now think about that…They heard in their own language. Who was the interpreter? Who was speaking, man or God? Those who had accepted the gift of the Holy Spirit were speaking the language of the Spirit, God’s language. Many who came were amazed at this event, yet some doubted and others mocked them saying they were full of new wine (sound familiar?); but in the end, can they really deny what they heard, the wonderful works of God? The way I see it, they were now without excuse. Are you familiar with God’s language? You should be if you are one of His. Daily you should be exercising your Spiritual senses, so that you become more familiar with His language and able hear what He would have you to say and then to speak on His behalf as the Spirit gives utterance; so that whomever He has you minister to, they will hear in their own language, and understand because they are hearing in the heart, not the ears. God bypasses the mind and goes straight to the heart, not giving the mind a moment of influence on what He desires to speak. It cuts right to the chase and doesn’t pussyfoot around does it? If you recall, it says that God’s Word prospers where He sends it; that it will not return void. Even if in our own minds (leaning to our own understanding) we think that it should prosper as soon as we speak it; but, to every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. So let patience have its perfect work. Last, the language of the Spirit is universal and of no private interpretation. John 12:49-50 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. (50) And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. (KJV) As you see in the above verses that Jesus Christ confessed that it was not His own private interpretation but what was spoken was of the Father who had sent Him. How many can say that of themselves? 2 Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (21) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (KJV) God does speak a language that reaches and touches the heart. John 6:63-64 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (KJV) God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Hebrews 9:11-14 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (KJV)
Christ is our High Priest who doesn’t have to go back year after year to offer up sacrifices for the sins of the people; He did it right once and for all. Now it is up to you to go to God through Him to find out what God has planned for your life. Romans 8:32-34 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifies. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. (KJV) The enemy of our Lord today has a new name, because it is this new name from above that he is trying to keep the Church from accessing. The enemy is now described as antichrist; because he is doing all he can to keep the Church from knowing who the Father is by the revelation of His Son, Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament without the High Priest making atonement for their sins they would have died in them. Today many are dying in sin because they have allowed the enemy to blind them from the truth of who their high priest and intercessor truly is. Ephesians 2:13-15 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; (KJV) Our Lord knocked down the middle wall of partition that kept us on the outside and we are able to get inside information straight from the throne of God. When you allow the Spirit of Christ to bear witness to your spirit, then you are one new creation in Christ which is why you can experience the peace of God for yourself. 1 Timothy 2:4-6 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (KJV) So no matter how many different people God has used in the past, no matter how many high priests have come and gone, you now have access to God by the Highest one ever, Christ Jesus. With all that God has provided for His people through His Son, there is no longer any reason you should be on the outside looking in any more. Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: (KJV) God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Hebrews 3:1-3 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; 2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. 3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath built the house hath more honor than the house. (KJV)
Remember the author (who I believe was Paul the apostle) is speaking to the Jews and trying to convince them that there is a better way. He was addressing people who thought very highly of Moses and had a hard time believing this man Jesus Christ was the Son of God. John 1:15-17 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, this was he of whom I spoke, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 16 And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. (KJV) Today, just like in the time of our Lord, people are still more apt to hold to rituals instead of grabbing hold of grace and truth. Religious people still think their works have something to do with salvation instead of the work of grace our Lord desires to see His people operate in. John 9:26-29 Then said they to him again, what did he to thee? How opened he thine eyes? 27 He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? Will ye also be his disciples? 28 Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples. 29 We know that God spoke unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is. (KJV) Talk about an eye opening experience; our Lord had just opened the eyes of a blind man from birth, and instead of celebrating this miracle the people were trying to find fault with our Lord. Today we have many who are blind to the truth because they are more apt to hold onto something old rather than being open to something new from the Lord. Hebrews 3:4-6 For every house is built by some man; but he that built all things is God. 5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; 6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. (KJV) So the things that are being spoken about that are after Moses and the old law are outdated, and now come from God through His Son Jesus Christ. It’s time mankind jumps off the sinking ships of Old Testament religious doctrines that have too many holes in them and get on board a ship that will take you home. Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (KJV) That man that is highly exalted is our personal High Priest that you need to get familiar with if you are going to grow and mature in your walk. Every tongue should be confessing Jesus Christ as their Lord or they cannot bring glory to the Father. God bless dearly loved and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. Hebrews 8:1-3 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such a high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; 2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. 3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man has somewhat also to offer. (KJV)
One of the themes of the book of Hebrews is to point out the new covenant that we are in now compared with the old one which is no longer in play. Once upon a time we had carnal priests who were ordained for carnal ordinances which could never take away sin, but instead would only cover it up like a deodorant. Hebrews 8:4-6 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: 5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern showed to thee in the mount. 6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. (KJV) Once our Lord offered up a perfect sacrifice which was accepted by God, it provided mankind with a much better and simpler covenant established upon much better promises. Our Lord has made His plan of salvation evident to His church which is why, in Christ, there are no gray areas or shadow of turning when looking at His promises. The confusion comes in when man gets a hold of things and tries to add works back into the mix. Hebrews 8:7-9 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. (KJV) You certainly wouldn’t want to go back to the way things used to be would you, building alters and stoning people when they sinned? So why does the Church today put so much merit on their works instead of learning to walk by faith and believe that our Lord has already done a completed work on our behalf? God sent the perfect solution for the perfect sacrifice, and He is seated on the right hand of God making intercession for His people; what could possibly go wrong? Hebrews 8:10-13 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. 13 In that he saith, a new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayed and waxes old is ready to vanish away. (KJV) When you are in Christ you are a new creation because old things are passed away and all things have become new. Your relationship with the Father is through His Son and not man. (KJV)
With direct access to the throne of God it makes no sense why so many still go to man for an answer to salvation instead of going straight to the source. You don’t have to spend the rest of your life here guessing; salvation is a plan that eliminates all fear which is what was dogging us before our conversion in Christ. Mark 4:10-13 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. 11 And he said unto them, unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: 12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. 13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? And how then will ye know all parables? (KJV) Do you desire to know and not just guess how to interpret the Word? Well, why not do what the disciples did and go straight to the source. The Lord wants His people to know and not be in the dark concerning the mystery of the gospel and how to access God anytime, anywhere. Hebrews 7:26-28 For such a high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; 27 Who needed not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. 28 For the law makes men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, makes the Son, who is consecrated for evermore. (KJV) Our Lord understands what we as humans are going through, that’s why he became one of us so that He wouldn’t ask us to do anything He wasn’t willing to do himself. That’s why God sent His Son to do a completed work so that we don’t have to rely on our works anymore; instead we can take comfort in the completed work our Lord did on our behalf. Hebrews 2:14-18 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. 16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. 17 Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted. (KJV) Church it’s like having a personal trainer, someone who has run the course and is now seated at the right hand of the Father ready, willing, and more than able to show you how to be more than a conqueror in Christ. Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great high priest that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God; let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (KJV) Make it a priority to go before that throne of grace daily and find out what God has personally for you. God bless dearly loved, and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
